"action news" reporter, walter perez is near the scene with the latest on the investigation. >> reporter: hey rick, it took 68 fire and emergency crews from three states, seven hours to bring this one under control. the problem was not the size of the fire but the location. the action cam was on the scene earlier this morning as one of the burning building started collapsing. the the call came in at 2:00 a.m. and they arrived to find a

massive four alarm fire engulfing an old abandoned industrial complex along the brandywine. and fire officials called in a state police helicopter to determine the precise location from where the the fire was located. the sheer size did not help matters either. they are large commercial structures, six in total and five of which are completely engulfed and heavy timbers dropped down to the lower levels. city officials say that a priveal developer recently purchased the old structure. people nearby says that the scope of the massive fire was jaw dropping. >> it's huge and a lot of crashing you could hear and things collapse and i know it was the roof. and i know know it was things exploding in there because it's an old factory you don't know what is in there. >> no word tonight how the fire

derailed in south london in the middle of the rush hour. the train was going faster than usual when it round aid tight curve in the middle of a rain storm and the tram driver is arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. it's the first deadly tram accident in the uk since the 1950s. a two alarm fire prompted an air quality warning in california overnight. the massive blaze lit up the night sky. because the smoke could produce fine particle matter, which could be a health matter, they issued an air quality warning there were no reports of injuries in the fire. the layoff of 2,000 workers at general motors they will suspend third party shifts beginning in january. the shift from cars to trucks and suvs is causing gm to furlough employees.

he faces contempt charges after profiling latino drivers after a judge told him not to. a crash in hockessin the impact sent a dumpp truck down a small embankment and the driver of the car was killed and there was rain on the roads at the time and it's unclear if weather was to blame. one driver was to blame in the park side section of philadelphia. the driver was going too fast and smashed head-on into a concrete wall on haverford match knew. a man is under arrest in connection with a hit and run crash that left two philadelphia police officers hurt. the incident at 21st and coughlin streets in german town, but the driver fled and crashed into the police suv.

the driver took off and ditched the car nearby. and that is where he got caught. one injured officer suffered a broken leg. residents in haverford are displaced by a small explosion and electrical fire. it broke out at sec this morning. one worker went to the hospital for electrical burns but the injuries are not life-threatening. the fire was quickly brought under control. the cause is still under investigation. philadelphia police are hoping someone recognizes two people that broke into a fitness studio in old city. and the 200 block of cutbetter street. the duo got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. a man with a camouflage shotgun is wanted for an armed robbery in the german town section of philadelphia. surveillance shows him walking
