touched down and arrived in the white house the last hour. >> reporter: good afternoon to you and yes, president elect donald trump is here right now in town for two big meetings, one with house speaker paul ryan this afternoon. first with president obama. this morning donald trump left new york in style. with a ceremonial cannon salute to march his first trip to washington as president elect. donald trump at the white house with president obama both saying they want peaceful transition after a bitter campaign. >> he is perhaps the worst president in the history of the united states. >> he takes over with solid republican control at capital hill. and the center is undoing much of the obama legacy beginning with repealing obama care and

then the big promise on border security. today on cnn rudy giuliani says that donald trump will deliver even if it means going around congress. >> he can do it by executive order by just reprogramming money within the immigration service. >> trump is also eager to fill that seat on the supreme court. replacing president obama's nominee merrick garland with a conservative justice. >> there are 4,000 political employees that have to be named. there is an enormous amount of work to be done. >> and new jersey governor, chris christie, is now in charge of trump's transition team and speculation trump's cabinet could include rudy giuliani for

morning. the gunman was watching for police officers inside and they were both shot as they approached the scene. one officer died a short time later. the other officer is out of surgery and expected to recover. once they entered the home the and woman were dead inside. the motive is unclear. two university students were robbed during an off campus home invasion. they got into their home on willing street in north philadelphia. annie mccormick spoke to a roommate of the victims. she is live with that part of the story. >> reporter: rick, actually just moments ago one victim did approach me and say luckily he was not injured and those intruders put a gun to his head and ransacked his home. >> a temple student did not want

to appear on camera. talked about the two men with guns that stormed her off campus apartment and she was studying elsewhere while her roommates were inside. >> one guy pointed a gun to both of their heads and said i'll blow your brains out. intruders gained access through the back entrance. the victims two male seniors were inside and a fourth was gone. >> they took like all of our electronics out of our rooms and like three laptops and one ipad and two phones. one of the victims parents that does not want her name used rushed to the home today. >> i am concerned and i hope there will be an increased police presence in this area and

on this street. >> one of them is scary, a guy reported that what was missing the person would have to reach over him to get it. >> reporter: now, initially police reported that the two students that were inside were both male however like we said moments before our live shot one victim approached and said it was himself and his girlfriend. he added that the suspects ordered him and the suspects to turn off the icloud accounts, that made for tense moments while the gun was at their head. rick back to you. >> annie thank you. family friends and colleagues said the final farewells to harold harrison, they gathered at new covington church in mt. airy. he was the first african-american fire commissioner in philadelphia. mayor kenney called him a

dedicated firefighter that left a lasting impact on the city. time now for the accuweather forecast. mostly sunny this afternoon with a chilly breeze out there. meteorologist, david murphy joins us with the latest conditions outdoors. >> it's bright and i chilly breeze is still in play, we'll start you with satellite and of course a lot of cloud cover and rain around last night, but early this morn that cleared the coast and now little in the way of significant cloud cover. a little high cirrus clouds around but that is it. 53 and on the breezy side. not sucher strong winds and you will want a jacket or sweatshirt if you head outside to get work done or do errands. 55 in philadelphia and 55 in wilmington and 52 in trenton and similar numbers down to the airport in atlantic city and dover, delaware. here are the winds in the single digit in the region and we see them pop up into the double digits here and there and this afternoon we are looking at 7 to

new surveillance video shows the man suspected of vandalizing

homes and vehicles in south philadelphia yesterday. police say he spray painted trump and a swastika on one property. anyone with information should contact philadelphia police. the man accused of setting off bombs in new york and new jersey will appear in court to face federal charges. rahami is facing federal charges accused of detonating a pipe bomb in seaside park and planting to pressure cooker bombs in manhattan. a fire that ignited when a hot light bulb fell on to a piece of cardboard is finally contained but could still burn for days. it erupts in new york just south of buffalo yesterday. the large building contained several businesses and hundreds

of firefighters battled the flames for hours. people are told to stay inside because the smoke could contain dangerous chemicals. the mayor of miami shores florida fought back when thieves snatched her purse. it shows her shoved to the grown but got up and went after the suspects. she was able to give information to the police. >> it was dangerous i had a sense he was a young person and if i had not chased i would not have been abe to get the tag on the car. >> turns out they were only armed with a bb gun and police are looking for a fourth suspect who was caught on video using the mayor's credit cards. detention has been replaced

david murphy is here with the forecast it looks bright and beautiful but chilly. >> we are rain free after experiencing quite a bit of rain yesterday. a beautiful shot from sky 6 hd,

and the ben franklin bridge, people getting back and forth no trouble. you'll need the sunglasses throughout the day. winds are out of the north-northwest at 9 miles per hour. not all that strong, we may see them go into the mid to upper teens at times today. a little bit of a fall breeze nothing that will hurt you too much. 53 in allentown and 53 in trenton and wilmington. and a 51 on the thermometer in cape may. satellite shows you how the cloud cover went off the coast and we see it shooting away. and sunshine and just a few high cirrus clouds around. like this graphic here and in the lehigh valley, sun and cool, and 57 degrees is your high and seasonable in the lehigh valley. and down the shore 58 degrees and cool and occasionally on the breezy side. and philadelphia we go for a high of 57 this afternoon. things work out just right we may add a degree or two to that.

and winds 8 to 16 miles per hour. for the evening commute, shades are important. 55 degrees at 4:00, and then of course the sun is fading. 53 by 5:00 and 62 by 6:00 and by 7:00 all the way down to 51 degrees. and overnight we dip to 46 for a low, mostly clear and cool, winds from the west at 6 to 12 miles per hour. lighter on the wind overnight. getting into tomorrow we see the numbers bounce ahead of a front passing through up to 63 degrees. but as that front slides past we wind up with winds building in. tomorrow is veterans day, a morning ceremony is not all that windy but winds pick up and get blustery overnight, and your exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast 57 and mostly sunny and chilly today. partly sunny and wind we tomorrow especially in the afternoon. mild and high of 63 for veterans

day and for the weekend a high of just 51 on saturday, feeling like the 40s, that is a day for jackets despite the nice cloud cover, sun and milder for the eagles with a high of 58 degrees. we get into the early part of next week and low 60s on monday sun mixing with clouds and 60 on the nose and more clouds mixing with sunny breaks on tuesday and maybe a shower here or there and 62. wednesday cloudy skies for the most part and another chance of showers on wednesday. >> thank you. >> quick break we have another half hour to go. stay with us, we'll be right back.
