shuttling riders vul of that crash. held at gun point and forced to the basement and then robbed. the search is on to find the two people who ransacked the house with temple university students lived. we spoke to their roommate who says they are terrified. sara bloomquist has the story. >> reporter: the victim feels certain this was suppose to be a burglary and turned to the robbery after they came upon one resident and his girlfriend at home. we spoke to a young man about the terrifying moments when he and his girlfriend came face-to-face with a gun. >> he had a gun in my face and said he would blow my brains out. >> john said a man with his face covered and a hoody over his head came into the bedroom where him and his girlfriend were

about to go to sleep. >> he said where is the money, and i said i don't have any money i have $40 and that is a lot of money to me. he told us to delete the icloud information off our phones, i don't know how, it's not something i do frequently, he was literally coaching us through how to do it. a second suspect ordered them to a living room sofa and then made them go to the basement. >> they see college kids it's an easy hit. we have stuff and they don't have stuff. >> they believed it was suppose to be a burglary. they didn't break in the front door, they came in a window and crawled over a fire escape. >> one parent rushed to the home at the 14 hundred block in wilmington. >> i hope there is an increased

presence in this area and on this street. >> it puts you on edge for sure. >> another neighbor told us that police were here on the block recently talking to the residents about recent break-ins with so much student housing in this area now, there are surveillance cameras everywhere. detectives are hoping that one of them captured the suspects. i'm sara bloomquist, channel 6 "action news." >> all right, sara thank you. the man accused of setting off bombs in new jersey and new jersey, went before a judge today on federal terrorism charges, ahmad rahami, made his first in court court appearance after being captured in september. he is concerned with his injuries sustained in a shootout with police and the 22-year-old is accused of detonating a pipe bomb at a marine corps charity

race in seaside, new jersey. and setting two pressure cooker bombs in manhattan. he plans to enter a plea of not guilty. a police officer is dead after an ambush style shooting in western pennsylvania and so is the man wanted for opening fire. the incident happened at 3:00 this morning in theown of canyca canyca cannca canonsburg. the gunman was watching for police inside. and they found the man and woman inside of the home. the officer killed is scott leslie a father, who served on the force for seven years. >> he was a loving father and never once did he ever say no to me for anything. he is one of those guys that was

there for you whenever you needed anything. >> the other officer injured in this shooting was flown to a hospital in pittsburgh and is out of surgery and expected to recover. the motive behind the shooting is still unclear. as you can see a memorial for the officer and prayers for the speedy recovery for his partner. we are going to check in shortly with meteorologist, adam joseph, a lucky guy on an adventure. he picked a darn good day to do it. but cecily tynan is outside with the first check of the accuweather forecast. >> a nice turn around. it's a beautiful november day, we got rid of the rain and replace tropical disturbance with sunshine. right now philadelphia 56, and new york city 55 and warmer in d.c. 62 degrees. but there is even warmer air across the midwest. green bay, 67, and chicago 63 and we'll be tapping into some of that warmer air tomorrow

ahead of a cold front and satellite 6 along with action radar showing this cold front not only does it not have any rain and barely any clouds associated with it. as it pushes through its going to bring us some gusty winds. wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour. and so it is going to be a windy veterans day and along with that ahead of the front we get a brief spike in temperatures, then as the front comes through a wind of change, that will bring us a dramatic weekend chill. and talking about windchills in the 20s. we'll have more details in that coming up on the accuweather forecast. >> we haven't heard that in a while. >> still ahead on "action news" at 4:00, a local firefighter is accused of pulling off a bank robbery. >> it's nicer than yesterday weather wise but we have traffic and transit complications including it's norristown high speed line due to the people being struck. you are running the buses instead of the trains between norristown and bryn mawr. the buses if you don't feel like taking them take the paoli regional rail line. 21 minutes behind on 541. and septa's route 15 trolley is running behind because a school bus doesn't want to run. that is causing delays on the 15 trolley. no shortage of delays here on the vine street expressway jammed in both directions with normal afternoon volume but here is good news. if you drive around crescentville, we are waiting on the adams avenue bridge to reopen and shut down since early may, we are getting word that tomorrow it will reopen.

today new protocol was laid out for just how police involved shootings will be handled and investigated here in philadelphia. district attorney, seth williams laid out the new procedures for

any instance that involves an officer using his or her weapon. the goal is to have transparency and accountability. and it includes sending special investigations district attorneys to the scene after any officer involvvof involved inci the district attorney will meet with families directly and talk to family members about how it will proceed. and whether or not charges are filed. this is a big one, a lot of people talking about this, the report will be made to the public in 60 days, a timeline is on it. 60 days after any investigation is complete. >> our investigations will be independent. >> our investigations will be parallel to that of the philadelphia police department and our investigations and their

findings will be transparent. in all investigations the ultimate decision to indict or not indict ultimately will be mine. >> now williams says that the new protocol is about two thing, the evidence and the law. he says that engaging it's public will gain trust and it's about timing and transparency. >> thank you alicia. the camden county police department is expanding their force. chief thompson sworn in new officers, reminding them about the creed, service before self. they will be patrolling the neighborhood streets of camden city. that brings the number of officers up to 410. the marine corps is celebrating their 241st

you as we get information. now, developing at this hour president-elect donald trump is wrapping up his day on capitol hill. the plan it for the president-elect to head back to new york tonight. he talked to the congressional leaders with the republican agenda for next year and sat down with house speaker, paul ryan, and mitch mcconnell. and now mr. trump's day began way meeting with president barack obama and said it was an honor and mr. obama says he was encouraged with mr. trump wants to work with his team on issues facing america. >> this was the first time president obama and mr. trump ever met face-to-face. they talked for about 90 minutes discussing the change over to government that is to come. trump says he is looking forward to benefiting from president obama's counsel in the future and donald trump will officially become president on inauguration

register. the suspect grabbed a small child nearby and put a gun to their head. no one was hurt. from our delaware newsroom now, six people are charged with allegedly selling large amounts of heroin. police say mann and mays were part of a large drug ring operating out of salisbury, maryland. that authorities seized 79,000 bags of heroin and guns and arrested four women suspected of being associated in the drug ring. >> with all the talks of who visited the white house this morning. some in buck county are focused on who will be there tomorrow. bill moore got into the car that will whisk him up to washington. 108-year-old is a world war ii veteran and set to attend a special veterans breakfast in

we are talking about how fall is a great time to get outside and visit a farm. >> today was a perfect day pretty much to do that. that is what adam joseph is doing hanging out on the farm. he joins us at johnson locust hall farm. what are you doing there? >> we are back at school we have really studious students, i feel like we are back in the 1900s sitting in an old barn on a stool here. watching jake and johnson part of the family that own the farm here. >> what are they making? >> apple cider. >> this is an old cider press, we look at the juice flowing there and how they shell popcorn, or how they used to in the old days. look at the temperatures now beautiful to be on a farm right now. keep working that.
