responding to a large train derailment causing evacuations in minnesota. and take you live to a big holiday attraction opening today in center city. and the big story on "action news" is a chilly change coming for the start of our weekend. accuweather tracking a light breeze and lots of sunshine and conditions turn increasing windy tonight. and for more on that. meteorologist, melissa magee is in for david murphy. >> reporter: happy friday to you. we have changes on the way tonight and tomorrow as well. philadelphia 52 and 61 in lancaster and look at the wind particles we are tapping into a westerly wind and it's milder now the same time yesterday. the winds are a factor as we go through the rest of the afternoon and into tonight. sustained wind speeds up to 17 miles per hour in trenton and 18 miles per hour sustained wind in philadelphia and both allentown and lancaster and i expect these

meteorologists by following them on facebook and twitter. we are following breaking news from philadelphia where police are searching for the gunman in a deadly shooting. a 34-year-old man was shot and killed by a man on north 18th street in tioga-nicetown. stay with "action news" and 6 abc for any updates. another shooting is under investigation in northeast philadelphia. where a man was shot while sitting in his car. the victim crashed into other vehicles while driving himself to find help. katherine scott is live at the intersection where the gunshots rang out. >> reporter: rick, a 32-year-old victim remains in the hospital in stable condition, we are told that he does not live around here and he was sitting in hi car near that intersection when he was shot. detectives were back at south street in northeast philadelphia this morning hours after a

32-year-old man was shot while sitting in his car. police believe the gunman opened fire from outside of the open passenger window at 4:30 a.m. >> there is ballistic evidence on the street consistent with the shooter being outside of the passenger side. >> in an effort to get away the victim fled striking two cars in the process. >> my phone starts ringing and neighbors started knocking on my door and i came out and saw my vehicle was hit. >> i didn't know what was going on and it made a left turn on mankirk street. >> he was not alone, two neighbors witnessed the crash following him to confront him for leaving and he was speaking spanish and did not understand. they believe he left the scene of an accidents, which he did, but they did not realize he was

shot. >> he wasconscious. if robbery is a motive it doesn't appear the money was taken. >> there is no word of possible suspects in this case. >> katherine, thank you. president-elect donald trump is working to assemble his administration but not sharing details. trump is meeting with senior staff members and tweeted he would be making important decisions by the people running his government. this follows the meeting with president obama and congressional leaders in washington, where parties called for a smooth transfer of power. but the protests continue. protesters hit cities across the nation including here in

philadelphia. the demonstrations were mostly peaceful in center city but violence broke out in oregon where people smashed windows we'll have more on that and trump's message to the protesters at 12:30. investigators are working to determine what caused a fire at the historic rowan mansion, chopper 6 hd was overhead last night. it was once the home to the late philanthropist. henry rowan, who donated to what is now rowan university. nobody was injured in the fire last night. well, it is beginning to look a lot like a winter wonderland outside of city hall. a winter attraction is opening today so dust off your ice skates. annie mccormick is live at the rothman ice risk as it celebrates its third season. >> reporter: hi, can you believe

a train derailment is forcing people to flee a town in minnesota. near ellendale, at least one car is leaking petroleum gas, residents are going door-to-door as a precaution and classes are canceled at nearby schools. ceremonies are taking place around the delaware valley to honor veterans. 1200 flags are on display to honor our veterans. the sea of flags is along 202 and mount lebanon road. for each flag $50 was given for homeless veterans and suited warriors. they raised close to $3500. and in the nation's capital. president obama is thanking veterans for the final time as commander and chief. that story now from washington.

the husband of a california mother that disappeared while out for a jog passed a lie detector test and is not considered a suspect cht sherry was reported missing on december 2nd after she failed to pick up her children from day care. her husband used an app to find sherry's cell phone and found it on the side of the road. they confirmed he was at work at the time of his wife's disappearance. >> this is difficult for me and
