town hall meeting. this came at the end of a traumatic day on campus. after black freshmen appeared on a grotesque chat session. a racist attack that has shaken the penn campus to it's core. jeff chirico is live on the penn campus at 36th and walnut. you have the full story. >> reporter: most of all the black freshmen received it on a social media app. some of it made reference to donald trump. >> i felt scared. i didn't know where it's coming from. >> reporter: this is one of those added to a racist group chat aimed at black penn students. mudmen included racial slurs. >> they made an event on the

caller enradar saying it is lynch day. >> a number of the students targeted gathered at a private meeting. outside, hundreds marched on the campus for the protest ch. >> one of the last places i would expect that. >> disgusting and vile. >> reporter: it was created by a user named daddy trump. >> there was a message about trump. >> reporter: they called it repugnant and said we are angry and saddened it was directed to our students or anyone. the people responsible are reprehensible. the mayor said it is heart breaking to see this in the city of brotherly love. police are working to determine who created the account. some feel the presidential election em boldined those with

these thoughts. >> someone is in charge that shares the same morals. they are confident with projecting that. >> reporter: university officials say it appears the account was based in oklahoma. they are still investigating. governor tom wolf weighs in on this tweeting that these acts are unacceptable. live in university city, jeff chirico, channel 6 "action news"s. >> thank you. for the third night americans to the streets to protest the election of donald trump. this is iowa city, home of the university of iowa where protesters stopped traffic. this was the scene in dallas, texas. >> protesters were back on the beat in philadelphia. transition team. he was bumped to vice chair, a position he will share with trump's adult children. he's been replaced by vice president-elect mike pence. there are reports trump heard from congressional leaders in washington that pence would be a better choice. meanwhile, donald trump may be softening his stance on obamacare. he told the wall street journal he would consider keeping parts of the health care law. trump told the paper he favors keeping protections for people with pre-existing conditions and extending coverage for young adults under their parents insurance. a young woman was killed tonight crossing lehigh avenue in the west kensington section of philadelphia. the 23-year-old woman was struck by a red honda civic at 6:00. philadelphia police say the victim was not crossing at the light. they say the driver is

cooperating fully and was not impaired. dashcam video obtained shows the moments leading up to a hadden township police officer shooting a driver during a traffic stop in camden october 29th. he hits the gas and carries the police officer with him. he gets out instead of getting on the ground as ordered. the man takes off running. the officer gives chase. you will hear his gun discharge once. 38-year-old edmond brown had by shot in the leg. he is out of the hospital but held on $100,000 bail. the officer is on administrative leave while authorities investigate his use of force. president obama used today to call for unity. he went to arlington national cemetery, noting veterans day

the home and the delay was due to rain. they showed the records from the national weather service. >> less than .01 rain fell. so, throw the -- yes. >> reporter: my name is nydia han, i'm with channel 6 "action news." i want to ask you questions about your business. why won't you talk to me? why did you take $700 and never finish the job? this case and another are pending grand jury presentation. this says he took nearly $2400. >> the contractor we see it time and time again. >> reporter: his business card claims he is licensed and insured. >> i saw no such evidence he was licensed or insured in nrj nj. >> reporter: same in pennsylvania. not only was he unlicensed with the attorney general's office, his business name is not

registered with the department of state. speaking of business names, there is a different cement doctor in pennsylvania. this one is in the pittsburgh area and does have the proper registration and license as well as an a plus with the better business bureau. ray's with the same name has an f. >> angry? sure. it a fif he canfects us. they think we are a franchise and we are not. >> reporter: he's received calls from several dozen disgruntled customers. why can't you at least talk to me about your business? >> i don't want him to ever do it to anyone else again, whether it's $10 or $10,000. i don't want it to happen. >>reporter: when hiring a contractor, aside from checking for a license, registration and insurance, pay no more than one-third up front.
