facing a number of charges. two women were hit by a pickup truck at 11th and market. they were in the intersection when a white dodge pickup hit them. they are in critical condition and undergoing surgery at hanheman hospital. the truck stopped at the scene and they took the driver into custody. no word about charges. villanova and radnor police are investigating a racially motivated attack on a student. thursday night, a black student was assaulted in a septa tunnel that connected two sections of the university. the white suspect ran toward shouting trump and knocked her to the ground causing her to hit her head. the men are described as members of the villanova community. that's in the memo from the school's president. the university find this conduct

ex-girlfriend she was concerned after receiving text messages from him saying he was going to hurt himself. >> because of the nature of the text messages and the uncertainty of the situation they decided it was best to contain the scene and call swat in. >> reporter: the suspect refused to come outside. >> he may have fired shots with a shotgun in the direction of officers stationed behind the home. >> reporter: that's when police changed their approach. >> once he fired the shots, originally we told the residents to stay in their home and stay on the ground floor or lower, once the shots were fired we evacuated the immediate homes vowngtd -- surrounding him. >> reporter: tense negotiations continued through text massaging and they were not successful. the suspect fell silent for two hours, police worried he harmed himself. >> we hit every floor with tear gas and it didn't get him out of the house. we sent in a robot.

firefighters were called out to the 600 block of north frank lin street at 5:00 a.m. they found flames shooting from two units there. it didn't take long for crews to knock out the fire and there were no reports of injuries. the investigation into the cause of the fire is just beginning. new this morning, gunfire outside a banquet hall in pennsauken new jersey injured two men. action cam was on outside the regal banquet hall on route 73. an argument spilled outside the hall at 2:15 a.m. someone opened fire wiewng a man in the -- wounding aman in the chest and the other shot in the arm. there was another man found unconscious on the scene. police have not made any arrests. students at the university of pennsylvania say they are stunned by the vicious racist messages sent to black students on campus, bob brooks say some

>> reporter: every week philabundance helps thousands of seniors to put food on the table. joseph is a self described people person. a man who likes to pay it forward with smiles. >> you have a nice day. >> reporter: he is devoted to his long time love carol who is in the early stages of dementia. money is tight so he goes to the good samaritan food pantry on lancaster avenue in paoli every other thursday, where he stocks up on soup to meet. good samaritan is one of the 350 agencies that work with philabundance. they served more than 200 families. >> it's considered the main line, it shows that hunger hits every zip code in the county. >> reporter: joseph has spent a lifetime learning how to stretch a dollar. his mom passed away when he was 11 years old leaving his father

american soldier and a mysterious french girl. thethe original 1951 movie stard gene kelly and leslie caron dancing through the streets of paris to the music of george and ira gershwin. the musical made it's debut in 2014. the musical was nominated for 12 tony awards including best musical. it won 4, including one for best choreography. it is the first time it is appearing on stage with the gershwin scores. it premiers i've got rhythm and you can't take that away from me. >> it's the classics of the 20s and 0s.
