good afternoon sara is off and in the news tens of thousands of local runners get ready to hit the biggest course of the year. the philadelphia kicks off on sunday morning. and president-elect donald trump extends job offers to fill his cabinet. but the big story is developing news. it's decision day for thousands of septa workers and members of twu are voting on the deal that put an end to the six day transit strike. john rawlins live with all the details. >> reporter: hi rick, well traditionally votes like this. they a matter of course and they expect a thumbs up but the union president put out a sharply worded statement, saying people trying to sabotage the deal by urging no votes.

to surprise her. he told her she was still away. while still on the way she saw the shadow of a person on her stairs and fired her gun. he was pronounced dead at the scene. we'll have more on the storey coming up in our next half hour. philadelphia police are reviewing surveillance video showing three people dragging a man's body from the scene and into the street. they found the body lying on the sidewalk, he had suffered head injuries, someone had thrown a rag over the surveillance camera in the lobby of the building but were able to get enough footage to see two men and a woman dragging the body. late last night they questioned two people but no arrests have been made. nobody was hurt after a fire in north philadelphia. the gunman took aim at this house on the 2700 block of

business news this noon, volkswagon is cutting 30,000 jobs after they try to recover from a diesel emissions testing scandal. the cuts will save $4 billion a year starting in 2020. volkswagon agreed to pay $15 billion over a settlement for deceptive software that turned off emissions controls. the u.s. divorce rate has fallen for the third consecutive year and at its lowest level in 30 years. factors could include the aging of the u.s. population and changing gender roles and the fact that there are fewer marriages to break up in the first place and marriages are up a bit since 2009. after a plunge of several
