the man was taken to the hospital in stable condition. a man was shot and left for dead during an attempted robbery in north philadelphia overnight. police say the man was targeted on the 200 block of west cornwall street at 2:30 a.m. he suffered a gunshot to the police took him to temple university hospital in critical condition. no suspects in the attack. it was a true nightmare for a chester county family. they returned home after a night out and found their home on fire. this happened at midnight. crews battled the fire from the roof of the home. the father and three children said they were met with the flames as they opened the front door. they called 911. it took an hour to bring it under control. this morning the cause is under investigation. president-elect donald trump continues to meet with a wide variety of officials as he shapes the new administration. new jersey governor chris christie and new york city mayor

little bit of snow and ice. right now they have the change over to light showers. in honeybrook near 322 you're getting sleet. it could be slick on the roads but that did just change over to plain showers. it is very light. it is not a storm system, it's lake-effect snow coming in. reading there could sleet pellets here and there. it's up fourth to the north that there's a problem. mountain pocono and lake harmony. the snowfall in the poconos could lead to an inch or two. in hamburg north and west it's mixed precipitation, as well. let's go outside and show you what it looks like, the carmings carmings -- cameras bouncing around in old city. we had the winds pick up in the last half-hour. we're seeing 38, 39-mile an hour wind gusts. feeling like 29 in philadelphia. 30 in allentown. 35 in millville. 34 in cape may.

you see the strong wind it's consistent. sustained winds 20 to 30, gusts have been at times up to 52 miles per hour that's the highest gust we've had so far. we'll continued to see them gusting through tomorrow morning. we talked about the snow a minute ago. that was a cold front that moved out. today we're not seeing a front or storm system. the clouds have filled in. we have wrap around winds from the area of low pressure that's pulling in from the great lakes that's giving us the lake-effect snow bands. they are hard to predict they can come in as a burst of snow and dissipate. here's what to expect. afternoon windchills in the mid 30s, everyone was feeling like the 20s, this afternoon in the mid 30s. in philadelphia, you might see a sprinkle but it's dry otherwise, clouds and sun. in the lehigh valley snow shower mixed precipitation we saw that
