homes. >> i keep smelling something and then when i looked to the window it was my neighbor's house was on fire. >> reporter: this is what she saw a raging fire on weinberg place in trenton consuming a block of row homes, nine in all destroyed bite six alarm blaze. >> i lost everything. i don't know. i've got -- i -- i -- my life is good, my family, my husband is okay. nobody, no people don't die. >> this house over there and it go more because it's very windy day. firefighters from area towns joined trenton firefighters but the fierce winds helped fan the flames spreading through a crawlspace along the roofs of the homes. fire crews were delayed fighting the fire because when they arrived on the scene around 3 a.m., there were live electrical wires hanging in the street. >> electricity and water don't mix so because of that, from a safety perspective we we had to pull our firefighters back until public service electric and gas got here to make sure

the scene was say. power and gas were cut. two people were injured and taken to the hospital. officials say at least seven people have been displaced. they are working with the red cross. the cosmo market right around the corner has already begun collecting items for the families who lost everything. >> people coming and bring us clothes and food, shoes,. >> i can replace all the clothes, all the, you know, tvs, computers, you know, everything that you can buy i can replace but there's certain stuff i cannot replace. >> reporter: back live now the latest numbers from the red cross, they say they are helping 28 people and nine families. the cause is still unknown. neighbors say there were squatters living in an abandoned building, we don't know if that had anything to do with itest. there are a number of investigators standing around getting ready to go in there to examine the rubble as soon as they get clearance to do that. after that all of this is is

has been exceptionally warm over the last few months. quite a rude awakening. it was 70 on friday, 72 on saturday well above that normal of 54 degrees and we went well south that of normal on sunday and as well as today with highs only in the low and the mid 40's. then on top of it those winds have been whipping for over 24 hours now gusting at times over 40 miles an hour. at this point they're under that 40-degree threshold. 38 in philadelphia, 38 wilmington and gusts to 39 in reading. wind advisory remains in effect for the next about three hours until 7 o'clock for all the areas that are highlighted here where gusts could still reach at least 40 to 45 miles an hour. and that's creating wind chills below freezing across much of the areas west and north of philadelphia. 30 in wilmington, 27 in lancaster. feels like freezing in allentown, just 1 degree above that in that philadelphia and a tiny bit better millville and cape may 35 to 37.

face charges related to five of the victims. his attorney says kaplan denies wrongdoing but waived his hearing because he didn't want to make the alleged victims testify during the holidays. prosecutors say he fathered two children with a 14-year-old girl and sexually assaulted five of her siblings who were gifted to him by their parents. firefighters had to use the jaws of life to rescue a driver trapped in her suv after a crash. the action cam was there as first responders worked to free that 59-year-old. her car collided with two others on the 6900 block of lancaster pike in hockessin at about 11:30 this morning. she and another driver were taken to the hospital with injuries. a third person and a child were also involved but neither of them was injured. >> it is time now for the "action news" traffic report this monday. >> it's going to be a busy week as we get closer to thanksgiving. matt pelman now standing by in the "action news" traffic center with a look at our monday. hey, matt. >> why not start it off on a busy way as we head home brian and sharrie.

already got some craziness going on in chester county where the eastbound lanes of the pennsylvania turnpike are now shut down because of an accident that just happened a little bit ago between downingtown route 100 and malvern there at route 29 the e-z pass only interchange temporarily all eastbound lanes are blocked. westbound you have a gaper delay. so let's talk alternates. 30 bypass or if you're getting right off the turnpike 100 down to the 30 bypass to 202 on back to the turnpike. eastbound turnpike is blocked at this in our chester county because of a crash. now, just a bit to the south in tredyffrin township a downed tree and wires from an accident along 252. southbound lanes mostly blocked. 29 can help you get you around that. and on the big picture, no shortage of red zones already on this monday afternoon. some of them just volume like on 95, 13 miles per hour. coming off the schuylkill we've got a broken down vehicle right at the end of the ramp as you get on city avenue southbound and right there in red zone on the roosevelt boulevard extension northbound there was a crash.

assaulting officers with rocks. this is the latest clash involving activists who oppose the pipeline. that pipeline will eventually carry oil from north dakota to illinois. >> now to the latest in what was a deadly and dangerous weekends for police across the country. there were four separate ambush-style shootings in three different states. we start in san antonio texas where a man shunt still under way after a shootout that left an officer dead. detective benjamin marconi was shot and killed outside his police department late yesterday morning. police say he was in his patrol car writing a traffic ticket when a car pulls up behind him, surveillance video shows a man get out of that car and then shoot marconi twice in the head through the passenger side window. >> we've been able to develop a suspect from this video surveillance. suspect is described as a black male in his 20's, thin build five-eight to five-10

with a goatee. >> now to saint louis, missouri where another officer was shot also while sitting in his patrol car. the father of three was hit twice in the face but was released from the hospital early this morning. the alleged shooter was later killed in a shootout with police. also in missouri in gladstone near kansas city, another officer was shot during a confrontation following a traffic stop. that officer is expected to survive. the suspect was killed in a struggle with the officer. and in sanaa bell island florida another officer shot in the shoulder while sitting in his patrol car following a traffic stop. that suspect is in custody. now in the wake of these shootings we are told that officers in saint louis and also in san antonio will be making traffic stops in pairs. brian. >> all right, alicia, thank you. there was some good news today for travelers flying this week. workers at chicago's o'hare international airport have now agreed to delay their strike. they had threatened to walk offer the job this week inevitably causing ripple

effect delays across the country. instead, the workers say they'll picket next tuesday because they don't want to mess up travelers' plans to see their families for the holidays. workers employed mostly by private contractors want to unionize and be paid $15 an hour. alarming new trend happening online and it's forcing at least two internet giants to change their policies. you've probably seen them. wild even whacky bogus stories and many people are falling for them. there are those who believe the amount of fake news circulating in recent months was enough to sway the presidential election. >> we have hundreds, thousands, millions infinite sources of information coming from everywhere. >> so, how do we decipher from fact and fiction and what can be done to curb the saturation. watch our special report on fake news tonight on "action news" at 11:00. >> a lie gets around the planet twice before the truth has a plans to get out of the

gate. an important story for sure. time for the accuweather forecast. >> all right, let's check back in with meteorologist adam joseph. >> quite a windy day just like yesterday that spills into our new work week. another night and day of that and as we look live right now on sky6 from our temple university camera overlooking the center city skyline it's shaking around just a little bit. just a few clouds drifting through but when you watch the clouds you can see how they race from the west to the east and that's the direction of the wind right now throwing those wind chills back at or below freezing across much of the area especially throughout the state of pennsylvania. a little bit above that freezing points for millville, dover at 35, the same for the atlantic city airport and beach haven and trenton now feeling like 34 degrees. large swirl in new england creating what was lake enhanced and lake effect snow that is really hitting syracuse and that drifts all the way into the berkshires dealing with some snow showers and you kind of see that that streaming around that low while we are far removed from the low so we do have sinking

air with those westerly winds drying up some of that cloud cover. so, for tonight mixture of stars and clouds, a blustery and cold with temperatures at 31 in allentown, 32 in reading. 30 in wilmington. so, numbers most areas will be below freezing for air temperatures. throw the winds on top of it and wind chills will be in the teens and 20's overnight tonight. in fact, by 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, for the i-95 metro area, sun and clouds for most of the day but these are the wind chills throughout your tuesday. starting at 24 at 7 o'clock in the morning and just getting above freezing by 11:00 a.m. and staying in the 30's even in the afternoon with those west-northwesterly winds still 15 to 30 miles an hour tomorrow. then as we're watching tomorrow at lunchtime, just east of the rockies here in the nation's heartland a storm will be gathering strengthening, rain and snow heading towards minneapolis green bay and chicago on wednesday morning so if you're expecting to fly into anywhere around the great lakes, down to saint louis, there could be

some travel problems here with this low and that continues to push to the east even on wednesday evening from green bay to chicago. even cincinnati. while we stay quiet along the east coast for your travel day on wednesday. and at the same time we're still tracking the tropics. tropical season does not end until the end of this month and otto is stationary right now should be on the move later on this week on thanksgiving could be a category one hurricane as it makes landfall in nicaragua. four day at 4:00 forecast windy and chill on tuesday but a dry day t wind chills stay in the 30's. sun, late clouds developing on wednesday but a good travel day locally at 49. right now thanksgiving cloudy with a scattered shower but it doesn't look all that wet. promising at 52 and cloudy with a little bit of sun maybe a scattered shower at 56 degrees for friday. there could be a shower or two during the parade but that's

developing overnight tonight and throughout your tuesday and wednesday cutting across the great lakes. so, for tonight it's blustery, it's cold, it's dry, 29 in the suburbs, 34 degrees for center city, winds still sustained between 12 and 25 miles an hour. still windy tomorrow as that low really isn't moving all that much. so, winds still gusting 15 to 30 miles an hour at times. wind chills staying in the 30's tomorrow with a decent a sunshine and a high of just 48 degrees. two areas of high pressure come in here for wednesday. so, if you're traveling anywhere along the east coast, it looks good. there is no weather problems. 49 degrees a little cool but less wind and then we'll watch this low developing and it will bring some wet weather and snowy weather in parts of the great lakes, chicago, down saint louis for your travel day. here's thanksgiving morning ri as that system arrives, it's going to be weakening. it won't be strengthening so it is going to be cloudy, it's going to be cool but at this point for the thanksgiving day
