church. this is the white rock baptist church they were joined by members of monumental baptist church on locust. they have joint services avenue year alternating locations. and in north philadelphia, hot meals were served with love at one day at a time. that is the program for drug and alcohol recovery, as well as services affected by hiv aids. and people reconnecting with loved ones to see they are doing well in recovery, we are told that members of the 22nd police district volunteered for today's event. >> "action news" reporter bob brooks live with a family in philadelphia. they were sitting down for their holiday meal. >> it's busy. a delicious meal. i did eat, marion she lives here

museum of art. it was awash in floats and marching bands and the music. delaware's own ai dupont marching band strutted their stuff. and these marchers are old pros, they have marched in this parade every year since 1983. how about the beat-tells. they brought back memories, among the most popular beatles tribute band in the area. they chose a christmas tune to get the feet tapping along the christmas route. ♪ purple rain >> then there was this special tribute to sprins performed by the students at philadelphia's creative and performing arts high school they danced to several of his well known hit songs. >> and ahoy maties, a remake of a crowd favorite sailed back

into the parade today. it featured many details of the massive ships from centuries ago and breakout start from americas got talent rode on board. ♪ ♪ >> how about this fourth row back performance that got everyone performing. dj cool and dj perform were joined by dozens of kappa dancers. ♪ ♪ a tune i think you know. the keystone boys choir and the girls choir singing the theme song to captain noah and his magical arc, a beloved member of the 6 abc family and families across the valley. he died last year and this part of the parade was a tribute to him.

>> and the longest float in the parade and also sported familiar faces, our own ducis rogers there and his family. along with "action news" reporter bob brooks and nydia han with her husband and two children. and her father is here. and erin o'hearn and her husband and her three beautiful children. ♪ ♪ today's show would not be complete without an appearance of santa and mrs. claus. they took their seats at the top of the art museum's steps. they were front and center for the big show. ♪ ♪ the music, the marching and the floats, the balloons. the 6 abc dunkin donuts thanksgiving day parade made its way up the ben franklin parkway for another year. a thanksgiving feast for the eyes and ears.

>> it's family tradition and it's great. >> this is my very first time and my daughter is in the parade. >> whether a seasoned spectator or first time fan there was plenty to cheer about even as a terrifying t-rex. >> as a child my dad with bring us down and my mom stayed home and cooked dinner and when we returned the elves had helped her decorate with the help. >> this tradition started with four brothers and this is the first time one was not able to be here and the gathering has grown and more than 60 families come to celebrate. >> we started off with my niece, stacey when she was 2 years old and we were holder her on our shoulders and then as the kids started to grow we came with scaffolding and ladders and then it progressed. >> happy thanksgiving. >> holiday cheer and family and friends and traditions of old

from our delaware newsroom one persons with killed when a vehicle collided in the northbound lanes of 95 in wilmington this morning. one of cars flipped over and the other had heavy front end damage and one lane of traffic is getting by before authorities cleared the scene and the name of the victim has not been released. authorities are searching for the person that killed two men in a home last night. they were both shot on the 2700 block of turner street and police have not released their names and investigators are

trying to identify and locate the suspect. welling on this day of food and sharing, volunteers with city team wanted to make sure everyone in the community had a meal to eat. city team began with the mission to serve the homeless that has grown to serve a variety of people and their needs. thanksgiving dinner was served to people that may not have had a place to go. well, a lot of people took time today to offer a helping hand to the less fortunate in philadelphia. had is the 2800 block of sampson street where people served meals to the homeless and anyone else having a hard time making ended meet and organizers say there is no other way to spend thanksgiving than bless those that need it. people spent part of the day making sure that others had a hot meal and a good friend at

their side. sara bloomquist has more from camden. >> this is what thanksgiving it all about. >> reporter: for these volunteers thanksgiving is about giving back to others they came from all over tole cane center. in camden, new jersey, to help those that perhaps cannot put a thanksgiving meal on the table. >> it helps to keep things in perspective and reminds me of what to be thankful for and we can get whatever we want to make for our thanksgiving dinner and not everybody can do that. >> i come out on each holiday and help the community. >> one by one they piled the plates up high with turkey and gravy and vegetables and of course cranberries. >> right in the mix of things -- >> the neighborhood center is serving the thanksgiving meals to the needy for 103 years now. luke wilson a graduate of the
