this noon a brazilian social player's plane crashed into a mountain. >> and rain is hanging around for a bit as we look live at sky 6 hd and that tells the story right there. we woke up to showers drenching us this morning and made for a wet commute the evening rush will be on the soggy side as well. david murphy is tracking it all from the big board. >> reporter: it has been raining all morning long and it looks to stay fairly steady for the next couple of hours and farther to the west an area of precipitation is pronounced and thinner and i think we'll get into a broken pattern of precipitation later in the afternoon and evening. right now we are still getting pounded. as you take a closer look at stormtracker 6 live double scan we go in tighter here the central portion of the region is

covered by the darker shade of green and this yellow as well. that is steady rain. are you looking at rain under this green dark enough and full enough to make roads very wet and create ponding and puddling on the roadways and then the yellow and that is steadier rain, keep in mind this is the season we have a lot of leaves on the ground and washing into storm drains and it's easy for those to get backed up and not handle this volume of rain. an inch or more today. wilmington getting a steadier cell. in the northern suburbs, east eastern and quakertown you are in and out of that steady rain and same thing in reading and coatesville and trenton you are getting a break in the steadiest. a wider view and a break down in dover. but i think another couple of hours of this. we have cloudy skies overhead while that rain is still pushing through. and even if we get into a break

crime scene with an update. >> reporter: we learned that the teen killed was a ninth grader at northeast high school, he was in this may fair neighborhood when he was gunned down. 15 district police officers raced him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. they identitied ian willsy as the victim of this shooting. chopper 6 hd was of the scene at ross and devereux where the teen shot in the chest collapsed while trying to run from his killers. he and a friend were walking to a store and two men approached. willsy's friend says that is when they saw a gun. >> one of them opened fire at him and didn't have a motive. >> they flag down a cop and they threw him in the back and he was gone. >> police are working off of a

the site of a deadly plane crash involving a brazilian soccer team. more than 70 people were killed when the plane went down to the airport in columbia. a handful of passengers did survive and could provide information on what happened. >> referee: new and heart breaking images from columbia as crews remove bodies from the crash site where you can barely make out this was a plane and incredibly there were survivors. according to authorities there are six survivors rushed to the hospital overnight. 75 others on board many of them members of a brazilian soccer team on their way to a tournament were killed. the brazilian president today offered his condolences to the victim's families calling the circumstances very sad. so far we have told that the british aerospace owned a by

charter company was near their destination. and this is the final moments the plane circlingself times and the crews saying there was an electrical problem before crashing. the soccer team posted this on facebook before they got on the plane, one of the players allen rochelle, a 27-year-old defender seen here with his teammates is said to be one of the survivors. >> three soccer players and two crew members and one journalist survived and the 75 victims, the brazilian president declared three days of mourning. wild fires racing through passenger forced the evacuation of thousands of residents and destroyed hundreds of structures. firefighters and national guard troops and local and state personnel are sent to help fight the fire in gatlinburg. 1400 residents and tourists have

already evacuated the area. it's day four of a mourning period in cuba following the death of former president, fidel castro, a ceremony will be held in his honor and his ashes will be taken on a 500 mile tour of the island country and his funeral is scheduled for sunday in sant yag oh. neither president obama or vice president biden will head to cuba for the services. still to come on "action news" at noon, a local supermarket was vandalized and they left behind a political message. satellite and radar showing you rain popping through the region and there is more where that came from, probably tapering off this evening and more for tomorrow. we'll have the latest on future tracker 6.

philadelphia police are trying to track down the vandals that left behind anti-trump sentiments at a grocery store in chestnut hill here at the fresh market on german town avenue. one spray painted and the other was perhaps taking pictures. the vandalism. >> police arrested a homeless man in an attack in bucks county over the weekend. derek anderson was arrested after finding him in an abandoned car. he faces charges including burglary and indecent assault. police say he assault aid woman on thursday inside of her home. they identified him by viewing video of him in a nearby sunoco shortly after the attack. uber drivers are joining a nationwide protest overpay, part

of a combined effort with fast food workers and airline workers. it's fight for $15, the drivers in the top 20 markets average $19 an hour but drivers complain of aggressive fare cuts and no expenses such as gas, repairs and insurance. and workers plan to walk off the job at chicago's o'hare airport. workers committed to strike, including baggage handlers and cleaners and wheelchair attendants, they expect delays and disruption special for united and american airlines.

all right so what going on right now? heavy rain in philadelphia. you see that highlighted in yellow and more of this out by malvern and norristown and the movement is scooting the cells through quickly. you see the movement and you get caught under a heavier cell and it gets better but by better you are still in a fairly steady rain. lets go ahead and check out points farther south. wilmington a heavier cell coming through and salem county and cumberland county heavier cells be the green is steadier rain and ponding and puddling on roadways is a problem through wilmington and newark, delaware. and finally to the north heavy stuff pushing in the direction of quakertown and allentown may get clipped as well. before we start to see a break in the action. as we take a look at the temperatures, mild today 58 in philadelphia, heading up into the 60s before much longer,

winds out of the south at 8. and there you see the current temperatures across the region. we have popped into the low 60s in dover and allentown mid-50s. future tracker 6 showing you for the rest of afternoon for the next couple of hours we are still looking at pretty good downpours across the region and later on in the afternoon and evening we get less rain overall and roads are wet for the evening commute. and this drys out later tonight and allentown a high of 60 and cloudy skies and periods of rain, and down the shore stuck in the upper 50s in spots and periods of rain and cloudy and breezy and philadelphia a high of 65 degrees and cloudy and breezy and periods of rain out there for the rest of the afternoon, getting more broken up by dinner time and beyond. cloudy skies and rain ending later this evening and fog developing and 56 is the overnight low, and kickly tomorrow morning we start with clouds and another round of rain starts tomorrow and the model backing off on the intensity.
