>> philadelphia police identified the teenager shot and killed last night in the city's may fair section. ian willsy was with friends when the gun fire rang out along the 6200 block of brow street. willsy was walking to the store when two men approached the group and one pulled out a gun and willsy was able to run a few feet before collapsing and neighbored soon jumped in to help. >> you don't expect to hear gunshots you think it's gunshots, realized and said get away from the window. >> he was taken to area tourses dale and he later died. and witness descriptions of the suspects have been vague. >> philadelphia police are looking for vandals that targeted a chestnut hill grocery store, the fresh market on german town avenue was tagged in the early hours of the morning last friday. among the graffiti a harsh anti-trump message and walter perez is live outside of that

ohio state university yesterday was angry about the treatment of musl muslims. abdul artan posted about muslims in the middle east on facebook. 11 people were hurt in the chaos and artan was shot and killed by a campus police officer. organizers began their day of disruption marches before the sun came up today. >> this is the scene early this morning outside of an mcdonald's in north philadelphia. fast food workers, uber drivers and home care and child care workers all went on strike for the day today to demand higher pay. they are fighting for $15 an hour and vehicles are happening all across the nation. >> the city of philadelphia could offer more help for people that are homeless. they have 430 beds for 13 to

priority is always going to be the sunday night football games, the sunday late afternoon games, pennsylvania state police want your help tracking down the two men seen in this video pulling an atm out of the wall. it happened earlier this morning in covington township, the suspects attached a chain to the atm and then the bumper of the truck using the truck's force to steal the machine. a piece of atm was found nearby if you recognize either man you are asked to call pennsylvania state police. the new jersey state house

is getting a $300 million facelift. governor christie announced the project this morning. the second oldest continually used state capital in the country. governor christie says its able made it subject to catastrophic failure and will be vakeated by july of next year for a complete renovation inside and out. derek sharper is sentenced for 20 years in prison for drugging and raping as many as 20 women. he plead guilty to the crimes in four states. sharper did not address the court or two emotional victims that spoke. he was an all pro safety that won a super bowl with the new orleans saints. and mourning in cuba day four. starting tomorrow castro's ashes will be taken on a 400 mile tour of that country and his funeral

is scheduled for sunday. dodss of world leaders are expected to attend. and the u.s. is weighing options of sending a delegation but neither president obama or vice president biden will head to cuba for the services. and now in california they are investigating how three people died after eating at the same community thanksgiving dinner. ali gorman joins us with the details. >> reporter: this is a sad story. they don't know for sure if food poisoning is to blame. more than 800 people in the bay area ate a free thanksgiving day meal at the american legion hall. hosted by a local church. by saturday the hospital there admitted eight patients with symptoms including nausea and diarrhea, three of those patients died. >> all the patients are associated with the same living facility. so it's unclear if the illness is related to the thanksgiving

want to call your carrier before you try to head out. stormtracker 6 live double scan showing why we have the rain right over philadelphia now. it is lessening in intensity. one heavier batch over manayunk and a wider view showing this is kind of the last of round one but this is really creating wed roads across the schuylkill expressway i-95, 422 and route 1, so definitely slowing down the evening commute and round two is arriving during the day tomorrow. this is much needed rain, so far today close to an inch of rain, .93, the wettest day in seven weeks, have you to go back to the beginning of october to get a day with this much rain, this is about double what we have had the entire month of november. until today. so this is something we really did need. we have more rain tomorrow but overnight tonight, a little break in the action. right now temperatures on the

"action news" continues with immediate gift, adam joseph, rick williams and monica malpass. hello again, here is what is happening on "action news" tonight. mandatory evacuations continue at this hour in tennessee where firefighters are working to get the upper hand on a fast moving blaze plus we are following latest on a deadly airplane crash in south america, authorities say a brazilian soccer team was on board. now the details, a raging wild fire in tennessee is threatening thousands of people at this hour. and forcing evacuations of residents and tourists. three people have been killed and dozens injured. lauren lister joins us live. >> reporter: that is right. local officials say that they are now assessing the damage after an extremely difficult 24

hours but the danger is not gone. they are still actively fighting the fire, saying the single greatest concern is the wind and the curfew is in place overnight and calling the next 24 hours critical. >> you see the damage that has been done in this area right here. today a first look at the destruction left in the unforgiving fire's wake, 100 structures lost or damaged in this tennessee town including it's mayor's home. >> personally i think i have lost my house but things can be rebuilt. >> overnight -- these raging flames devouring the terrain and motorists in gatlinburg fleeing as they were ordered to evacuate. from the great smokey mountains to populated areas turning totally wood into an orange arm

gedan. and 10,000 animals there threatened but attacked. strong wind speeds of up to 60 miles per hour and the southeast's worst drought in a decade. >> in a span of 15 to 20 minutes, we were dispatched and alerted to almost 20 structure fires. >> as of this morning, more than a dozen structure fires still burning as 2,000 people live hunkered down in shelters. fire officials saying that they believe the worst is over and it looking like the weather will cooperate. rain is forecast late tonight with 1 to 2 inches expected that alone authorities say should put out most of the fires. channel 6 "action news." >> lauren thank you. now to the latest on the airline disaster in south america, officials say it's remarkable that six people survived a plane crash in a mountainous area in columbia. it was carrying a soccer team.

church. at the death penalty trial of dillon roof, he faces dozens of charges for the attack at the ame church in charleston and plans to act as his own lawyer with his defense team ready to advise him. the driver of the school bus crash appeared in court. but the hearing was postponed until next month. his defense attorney says that she expected walker to plead not guilty if the grand jury indicted him. >> and several pipeline protesters in north dakota are suing the county and law enforcement arguing their civil rights were violated and that officers used excessive force two weeks ago at a blockaded bridge, authorities used tear gas and rubber bullets and sprayed water at the protesters after they say they saltsed the

officers with rocks and burning logs. five people were homeless after a fire destroyed their home in delaware county. flames broke out at 4:00 a.m. on the 200 block of wright avenue in darby. when firefighters got there they found the second floor of the home on fire. no word on whether anyone was hurt and what caused it, the red cross is providing help to the five folks displaced. this the scene after a car and box truck collided this morning at 5:00 in newcastle, delaware. it all happened at 6:30 just past the exit for route 9, one person was taken to christiana hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. no word on cha caused the crash. >> and it won't be open 24 hours a day. just about an hour ago, city councilman bob williams had a

conference outside of fire station six. the fire department decided to keep the engine house closed when they don't have enough firefighters on staff. >> due to budgettory reasons they will decide to put engine six in a permanent bypass when additional provisions are met. those conditional provisions will be met just about every single day. because the wilmington fire department is down 19 firefighters to date. >> count ill man williams is asking fire chief annthony good to reconsider. and police ask if you can identify the man in the photo the second suspect wanted in connection with three armed robberies at the goodwill store in wilmington. two of them happened in october and the last one was this past friday, a 14-year-old is arrested in the case and now police are hoping to identify and arrest this suspect as well.
