delaware. two brave firefighters were killed that night in september and to make matters worse, it was arson. tonight, it's hear heartache aga third firefighter since that night, ardythe hope has died. it's devastating news from wilmington firefighters, they have lost a third firefighter. christie lleto is live at fire station number five. christie. >> this is where ardythe hope was stationed. she was about to retire and get her nursing degree. instead she spent her birthday and thanksgiving fighting for her life. family and friends say they didn't see this coming. >> i thought she would pull through. i thought everything would be okay. >> ardythe hope was in the burn unit more than two month months

fighting burns she got in this inferno. her boyfriend and three daughters were with hope in the final moments at the hospital. >> each individual got to hug her and kiss her. >> it hasn't hit me yet. i'm still in shock. >> shannon plays balk with hope's middle daughter. their parents are close friends. >> we encourage lexi since it happened. >> ardythe has been in our thoughts and prayers the last 40 some days. to hear this is tragic. >> the september blaze is the deadliest in the department's history killing two and injuring one. hope, a 23 year veteran was an outstanding firefighter and wonderful person. >> she had a heart of gold. she loved life.

eight people have been displaced in addition to the fatality. >> certainly while our firefighters do the best they can, this is a frustrating and unfortunate result for us. despite their best efforts, they were not able to get to this particular individual. >> authorities don't know yet what sparked fire and the victim has not been identified. >> this was the scene on the 600 block of east clementine. more than a hundred people showed up to mourn a two-year-old who died tuesday night. he had bruises to the chest and a lacerated liver with thc in his blood. the boy's mother will be charged in connection with his death. >> philadelphia police are explaining what happened last

night where a crash killed a 59-year-old woman while police pursued two criminal suspects. >> dan, on those occasions when a pursuit has ended in the death of an innocent person, police have been called upon to justify the chase. what about this case tonight? >> well, jim, in this case the police chase is under review at police headquarters. the commissioner says it appears the officers were justified in their pursuit. >> this is the innocent victim killed in the fatal crash, 55-year-old carroll isom of west philadelphia. >> it's just a tragedy. this was a forceable felony. >> it began with a shootout between two cars just after 7:00. >> i heard three gunshots.

i tried to lay back down. i heard six more and six more after that. >> police gave chase. it ended several blocks away when the suspect's car slammed into a kia driven by carol isom who had nothing to do with what was going on. she was pronounced dead at the hospital. >> the pursuit is dangerous to the police and public. it's part of what we do. >> a gun was recovered from the car involved in the accident. a shird suspect showed up at the hospital with gunshot wounds but refused to cooperate with police. the other car involved has not been located. >> it's a tragedy regardless of what participated it and why, a woman died tragically in this. that's what we have to remember. >> tonight carol isom's family

resign as governor. with trump's backing it's a pretty sure thing. a recount tomorrow in philadelphia's 75 precincts. there are nearly 1700 precincts in the city. they ruled against a full analysis arguing that recounting votes without inspecting the voting machines won't determine if a cyber attack altered the vote. lehigh valley rejected a forensic analysis of the voting software. >> natasha gibson was butchered with a knife and beaten with a that baseball bat in september. police believe her killer is already behind bars. byron alan was arrested last month facing charges for

it began in the center of the street and has spread. firefighters haven't declared the blaze under control yet. nobody was hurt. 11 people are safe tonight after a hostage situation at a bank in jacksonville florida. the 23-year-old gunman threatened the hostages before they were rescued by a swat team. it began with the report of a robbery at 9:00 this morning. after a two hour standoff, the swat team took nicholas humphrey into custody. no one was hurt. tragedy was averted at a utah middle school when a teen brought guns to school. he fired the gun into the ceiling in bountiful, utah. a teacher and student were able to talk the gunman down, that before his parents arrived and disarmed him. the student's parents were on
