>> and good morning to you, 7:00 a.m., saturday, december 3. here's some of the stories we're following for you on "action news." new information overnight, two families are homeless after a fire in a west philadelphia home. police in montgomery are looking for the driver who hit and killed a senior citizen and kept going. plus you'll need to reach for the coat once again, it is blustery start to your weekend as we take a live look over the platt bridge. meteorologist chris sowers has the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. the camera was shaking there, windy, right? >> reporter: it's windy out there this morning, it's putting windchills in the low to mid 0s, unfortunately. as you mentioned, you need to wear a heavier winter coat. by afternoon we'll see the cloud cover thin out. the sun will shine through, it's going to be a nice day,

blustery. windchills around 40 degrees just about all day long. 36 is what it feels like in philadelphia. 38 in allentown. 20 in the poconos. 35 in trenton. feels like 37 degrees presently in millville. satellite and radar, we have a little bit of cloud cover across the mid atlantic states this morning, but high pressure is in control, so we're not expecting the clouds to turn threatening. we'll stay dry today and tomorrow. there can be a rain or snow shower for parts of the lehigh valley monday morning. monday looks fairly dry, as well. a nice stretch of weather coming up for us. the breezy 49 will feel like 41 or 42. temperature overnight tonight drop close to freezing in the outlying suburbs. when i come back in just a few minutes, the pattern turns unsettled and it is much massachusetts colder. i'll have the details in ten minutes. >> oh, boy, the cold is coming.

new this morning, the red cross is helping five people displaced by a fire in west philadelphia. viewer video look at this, it shows the flames that ravaged the unit on the 5500 block of walnut street. firefighters got to the scene at 3:30 a.m., they say they found heavy flames coming from the first floor, two women and a child in one unit, and a woman and her teenage son in the other unit. there were no injuries. police are looking to track down a driver who hit and killed a senior citizen who kept driving. 72-year-old was hit walking along the 600 block of riders mill road around 6:40 p.m. another driver found him and called for help, but he later dade at the hospital. anyone with a tip on the car involved in this is asked to call lower merion township police. 7:02 a.m. a heartbroken family is

struggling to make sense of a loss of a woman who was trying to drive to a store. a pair of suspects trying to getaway from police were involved in a crash that killed her. dann cuellar spoke to the victim's loved ones. >> it don't make sense, beyond it, life goes on and we're trying to deal with it. >> reporter: for ronald isom he is trying to deal with the shocking loss of his wife. >> she was the neighborhood mom, she did nothing but love and smile. funny, outgoing, always wanting to do something with her crafts, find a away out of no way. that was my mom. >> reporter: she and her husband of 34 years were the parents of five kids all with college degrees as she insisted they get a good education. >> she was adored and loved by all, a sister, grandmother, five times over.

>> reporter: family members say they was going to the store around the corner when she got caught up in a police chase. list were pursuing suspects in two vehicles that were shooting at each other along westminster avenue, it ended when one of the suspects slammed into the car occupied by isom. the family declined to speak about the crash with the investigation on going. >> we ain't going to get into this, because we don't have all the facts. we don't know what happened we're not placing blame on nobody, until we know what went on. >> reporter: isom worked at the va hospital for many years, after being transferred to lebanon, pennsylvania, she resign to be close to her family. her funeral is set for december 10, her 56th builder. >> she was a friend and this family's heart and soul. she will be missed. >> reporter: the family is planning a vigil in her memory

later today 5:00 p.m., the 200 block of south 53rd street where she and her family lived. dann cuellar channel 6 "action news." >> from our new jersey newsroom, the person who shot and killed a woman while riding in a ride sharing vehicle is on the run. the suspect jumped into the carat east trenton and bruinig avenue tried to rob a trio of friends. he fired a shot and hit a woman. dudley did not survive. lyfte released a statement saying our simple -- sympathies are with the family for their loss. happening right now, the search is on for the armed man

you see in the surveillance video it shows the suspect sneaking up behind two women walking in the city's northern liberties section and violently robbing one of them. this happened at 6:00 p.m. tuesday, on the 400 block of north 3rd street. police say the suspect choked the 68-year-old victim and pushed a gun to her head and stole her bag. >> if somebody is trying to rob you, if they have a weapon, don't fight, give them what they are asking for and live to see another day. >> reporter: officers say the suspect ran away, the victim was not seriously hurt. if you have any information call philadelphia police. police in montgomery county have renewed their plea for information in an unsolved murder from 1993. on this date, 23 years ago the body of julia barniak was found.

the 18-year-old girl had gone missing three weeks earlier. a ten thousand dollar reward is available for the arrest and conviction of her killer. bryn mawr hospital got a shot in the arm to help with its 200 million-dollar modernization project. officials with the devon horse show presented its third installment of a 2 million-dollar pledge to the hospital. this happened last night. the 134,000-dollar check was raised at the 120th devon horse show that happened last may. christmas came early for 100 children whose parents are serving at joint base mcguire dix lakehurst. they had a chance to pick out a new bike. they took their time choosing the bike from the hundreds that were set up there in the kimmel center last night. the filly pops played a concert in salute to all of our brave

south jersey and the region to get the predator off the streets. >> reporter: wesley is charged with attempted murder, aggravated sexual assault and kidnapping and more, and he is being held on $2 million cash bail. while executing the warrant they found evidence that could link him to other remains. in camden, jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> this morning, philadelphia police are trying to track down the man they say is groping people riding a bike. investigators say there's another reported incident of this. overnight officers talked to a woman who claimed to be grabbed on the 700 block of south 16th street near pine street in south philadelphia. police say it's too early to know if this incident is linked to unsolved groping in the city by a man on a bike over the summer. this morning we have details on the memorial services for wilmington firefighter hope home.

it was senior firefighter's ardythe hope last assigned post. the 23 year veteran died from injuries she received battling an arrests back in september. despite being burned on more than 70% of her body, hope, a mother of three fought for 68 days. >> i was with the family last night in the hospital during artie's final moments. i love that family. and i appreciate and respect the ability to be there. >> thoughts and prayers go to the hope family and the fire department. hope was burned trying to rescue jerry fickes and christopher leach from the fire. they also died. the woman accused of setting the fire faces a first and third degree murder charge. no word on what caused a fire that ripped through a an

it may pick up a few notches at the day wears on. it will be a nice looking day, just a little blustery from time to time. satellite and radar no issues out there this morning, northeast mid atlantic all the way down tort southeast everybody is looking -- down to the southeast. everybody is looking okay. here's the problem, we'll expand the view, here's mexico right here. look at this moisture, almost like a conveyer belt. the southern branch of the jet stream. all that moisture comes right up the coastline. an area of low pressure develops here, this is next week, let's say, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, somewhere in that time frame, that low drives up the spine of the appalachians pulls in all the moisture out of the gulf and the atlantic. it sets up an unsettled stretch of weather, similar to what we saw this past week. that will be through tuesday and thursday time frame. while this is happening we have a ton of cold air building
