just a minute. before we do the scene right there behind me t and w laundromat. in the words of the police it's a miracle this victim wasn't killed in there. it's 4:00 a.m. this morning and she's alone at work inside the t and w laundromat in upper darby. police say at this moment the employee is vacuuming lints out of the drivers her back is turned and she can't hear when two suspects armed with a gun come barging in. she's choked the gun aimed to her head. >> the victim never saw it. they were on top of her before she realized they were there. >> reporter: customers can't believe what we showed them. >> terrible. >> reporter: the employee well known here. >> she's a very sweet lady. she's knocked to the ground the gun jammed into her side. >> she's scared to death. she's scared to report it to the police. >> reporter: the victim was taken back here into the boiler room. the cops say the message from the suspect was if you say anything, we'll kill you. in that boiler room the suspect continues to rough her up. more video shows us the

accomplice goes into the office. police believe this suspect is a woman. she takes $200 cash and roughly $400 in coins. but before she gets away she spills quarters all over the floor and takes her gloves off to pick them up. chitwood is hopeful they'll get fingerprints and that someone will help them catch these two. >> we wants to get them off the street before they hurt somebody. how they didn't kill that lady is beyond me. she's a very lucky lady. >> reporter: customers who know the victim well want her to know she's in their prayers. >> it's crazy. they could have took her life over robbing something. i don't know why people don't just go get a job or something. >> reporter: hopefully someone out there does know who did this and do the right thing they pick up the phone and call the police. if you do help with an arrest there's a $2,500 cash reward available. reporting live in upper darby, bob brooks channel6 "action news. rick. >> all right, bob, thank you. students in the tupper perkiomen school district will go back to class tomorrow following app social media scare that kept them at home today. all schools were closed

because of an instagram post that suggested someone would harm students. but police have since identified the person who made the post and determined there's no credible threat. there's no word if that person will face any charges tonight. after school activities continued as planned today and again classes will resume tomorrow morning. the woman accused of setting a wilmington house on fire will face another charge of murder. 28-year-old beatrice ruiz admitted to starting the fire back in september. she was already charged in the murders of the lieutenant jerry fickes and captain chris leach hoop both died fighting the blaze. seen sore firefighter ardythe hope just passed away from her injuries last week. ruiz will be charged with hope's further as well. >> 36 people now confirmed dead in a california warehouse if i remember. crews expect to find even more victims in the rubble in the coming days. they had to stop searching the building in oakland overnight because they feared a wall might collapse but they resumed the search this afternoon.

that fire erupted during a party late friday night. more on the investigation into how it started coming up at 5:30. pennsylvania's presidential election result is now being challenged in a federal lawsuit. attorneys for the green party filed that suit today. it asked a judge to order an emergency statewide recount. green party candidate jill stein pushed for recounts in wisconsin and michigan where president-elect donald trump narrowly defeated hillary clinton bullet the recounts are not expected to change enough votes to effect the outcome. >> donald trump is trying to stay focused on filling out his cabinet. earlier today he nominated former campaign rival ben carson for a job and met with former vice president al gore to today. abc's lana zak is following the latest developments and joins us live in washington with more. lana. >> reporter: hi, rick. good to be with you. there's been a steady stream of politicians and retired politicians heading through trump tower, all provide something hints as to who may

george posted this on my facebook page and said looking outside it was looking like a winter wonderland pen argyl. most of us just saw the rain but this is pretty typical if you look at the past 30 years the average first snow in the lehigh valley, 12/six, tomorrow. philadelphia typically december 17th. wilmington around the same time, atlantic city have to wait closer to the end of the month to get your average first snow and with that cold air arriving by friday we could see a few flakes or snow showers. right now though temperatures about where they should be for this time of the year, 49 degrees in philadelphia, 48 is the normal high. allentown 44. wilmington 46. cape may 47. and trenton 43 degrees. satellite6 along with action radar showing that early morning rain and snow well out of here break in the action, actually a lot of breaks in the clouds. however there's another system waiting in the wings and this one is going to be pulling up the gulf moisture. if you look at this they actually have tornado watch

boxes in parts of the panhandle of flash flood -- florida. another low develops off the coast of the carolinas and that one will move straight to the east so that will bring us a good amount of rain activity. really for the second half of the day tomorrow. tonight will be dry partly cloudy seasonably chilly, 35 in philadelphia, 29 in allentown, 35 in wilmington and cape may 39 degrees. future tracker showing tomorrow morning 7 o'clock, some clouds but even a few peeks of sun north frankford philadelphia. around lunchtime we'll see the rain develop around wilmington area to the south extreme southern new jersey. it really pushes in by the afternoon and this is also when the lehigh valley, the poconos you could see some snow showers. i don't think they'll last very long in the lehigh valley. could hold onto about one to 3 inches in the northern poconos. tomorrow night a pretty good soaking rain and then just a few lingering showers by wednesday. so, future tracker showing around about a half inch of

hire lawyers back on for the next phase of his trial. dylann roof will have his attorneys until a verdict is reached but if he's found guilty and the trial moves into a penalty phase he'll go back to representing himself as he requested. roof faces murder, hate crimes and obstruction of religion charges for the mass shooting in june of 2015. opening statements in the trial begin wednesday. in san antonio texas an off duty sheriff's deputy was killed when two cars plunged into a water filled sinkhole overnight. two people were also hurt. that sinkhole which was reportedly more than 12 feet deep appeared after app sewer line ruptured during heavy rains earlier in the day. authorities say passersby rescued a driver after another vehicle went into that same sinkhole. world news tonight with david neurological have much more on the texas sinkhole drowning as well along the latest in the investigation on that deadly warehouse fire in oakland. you can watch all of that following "action news" at 6:00. >> in other news tonight in new jersey abortions after

fifth month of pregnancy would be banned under legislation introduced by republican lawmakers in trenton today. officials say the spill needed to protect vulnerable unborn children but would create exceptions in cases of rape incest or if the mother's life is at risk. new jersey does not restrict or pope hib abortions in cases of life or health endangerment tap certain points in the pregnancy. still unclear whether the legislation would clear the democratic led legislature. stronger local businesses make for safer neighborhoods and a greater sense of civic pride. and it's this investment in philadelphia's 265 commercial corridors that's driving a new initiative tonight. today mayor kenney and local leaders announced the power up your business program. starting next month small business owners will have access to training and other tools to build their brand. in turn, the mayor says that will translate into more jobs. >> when the neighborhood business core store strong housing values are strong.

when the neighborhood business corridor is strong it's safer. there are more people working. there's more of a community feel. >> officials say the goal of the program is to entice other businesses like childcare centers grocery stores and other services to set up these neighborhoods to further spawn growth in the city. >> new castle county police say they have cracked a cold case from four years ago. 37-year-old kevin miller is accused of murdering jeremiah macdonald back in 20's 14. investigators say he shot macdonald along herron court in the sparrow run development in newark. there were no leads on the case until detectives went to reinterview the witnesses. a grand jury heard the case and agreed to bring first degree murder charges against him. miller is already behind bars charged in in another case. a septa driver was likely startled but not hurt when two men threw powder and liquid on him in somerdale this morning. it happened as the driver pulled up to a stop on rising sun and adams avenues. police say the suspects

boarded the route k bus threw in a powder and some liquid and then ran off. both substances weren't not hazardous. but investigators still want to find those men. quick work by philadelphia firefighters prevented a fast moving blaze from spreading in strawberry mornings. this is the scene in the 2600 block of west cumberland street. smoke poured from app second floor bathroom but everyone living in the row home got out without being injured. the cause is under investigation. >> two horses escape from their enclosure in south jersey and caused a crash on the atlantic city expressway. happened near milepost 32 in hammonton just after 3 o'clock this morning. authorities say a car hit and killed one of the horses on the right shoulder. the sector horse was close by but troopers were able to corral it before it was injured. no one in the car was seriously hurt. still not clear how the horses got free. a school bus crashed on the schuylkill expressway this morning and caused plenty of traffic tie-ups as you can see from sky6.

happened in the eastbound lanes near south street just after 6:30 a.m. two cars and the bus somehow collided but luckily know children were on the bus at the time of the collision. none one was injured. >> time right now to get another check of traffic out there monday night it. >> a busy monday night. matt pelman but folks are getting home the best way they can, hm. >> they're trying, that's for sure and you get a crash on the schuylkill eastbound for the morning commute so how about one for the evening commute and this is not that far weigh from south street from this morning. this one rick and monica doesn't look quite as serious just a fender-bender in the eastbound lines lanes by 28th street. single digit speeds. head towards the sixers game tonight expect a very slow go. have some traffic light troubles at fifth and spring garden. our bridge opening at the tacony palmyra has finished but the ship is trucking its way northbound so burlington bristol is scheduled to go up in just about 20 minutes now. and we still have the big problems in the lehigh valley

slick this time of year so something to watch again especially tomorrow evening's rush hour with some heavy rain moving back in. right now temperature 49 in philadelphia, 44 in the lehigh valley. 43 in reading. temperatures in the mid 40's south and east so pretty average with that mid 40's for the most part from the city, the shore up to the poconos where it's a bit cooler 36 degrees. we look to the south and there you can see the radar beginning to flare back up with a lot of precipitation coming out of the gulf of mexico. the actual center of low pressure is still to the west of new orleans and that low is going to work to our west meaning we're not going to tap into any cold air for this storm for the immediate delaware valley. we are clear now but the clouds are increasing but there could be a little bit of wet snow mixing in at the onset late tomorrow afternoon lehigh valley up into the poconos. but for tonight it is partly cloudy. it's a quiet night and seasonably chilly. right around freezing both in the city and the suburbs. winds out of the north and west right now and then they

flip to the northeast wife fife 10 miles an hour a little bit later tonight. early tomorrow morning it is a dry, drive for your tuesday morning rush hour. there could even be some little hints of sun especially north of philadelphia while clouds will be picking up in southern areas. by lunchtime it is dry across much of the area still so if you have errands to dom right through lunchtime hour it does look dry with the exception of southern cape may county and dover where the first raindrops should push in. then by 5 o'clock in the evening you can see how quickly this rushes offer to -- offer to the north. there's colder air up in the poconos lehigh tunnel where it com begin as wet snow. in allentown if you see a snowflake or too two it's going to quickly driving rain there and again heavy at times. there you can see how we kind of -- it kind of brightens up with some of the moderate rain in spots. this is 8:30 tomorrow morning. still snow in the higher terrain in the poconos. wednesday morning the bulk of that rain is away and it's just some scattered showers for that morning rush hour on

"action news" reporter john rawlins is live outside school district headquarters in pennsburg. john, are we correct in thinking the video was not meant as a threat at all?

>> that's correct, jim. the video was not considered a threat. it was produced by a nonprofit organization and has membership that includes family members of those killed at sandy hook. the other interesting point after a long and somewhat confusing day in addition police don't believe the young man who made links tots web site or made comments about them was a threat either. they don't believe he had any criminal intent whatsoever. a district wide school shut down. at first officials saying little except a police investigation concerning students safe track advertisement students saying that led to lots of speculation from a gunman targeting kids to. >> i heard it was going get blown up. >> reporter: all kinds of rumors. >> i didn't feel behind the shut down an overnight complaints to state police about a social media post that contained link to this public service video that was developed to help see the warning signs of a potential school shooter. in a pivotal scene, there is a gym full of kids.
