prosecution at cosby's trial this spring say critical one. it was intense between cosby's legal team and the prosecution in court today. who will get to testify against bill cosby in the sexual assault trial. the da wants to call 13 women that claim that cosby drugged and molested them in years past and some go as far back as the 60s and prosecutors say it will show a pattern of the defendant's history. the defense says it's testimony is too old to be reliable. and most are represented by gloria allred. >> it's the question of is this a signature act, common what we call an mo. most of the womens names are already established as the cosby scandal exploded. but the defense steele wants to

thief likely had no idea what was in the packages or intended for needy children at the school where the victim teaches but this is part of a -- they too were targeted by the very same suspect. >> this package thief walked by several times, casing the house before making his move on taking packages from the font step of the house at the 800 block of lawrence in northern liberties. danielle chevy is the homeowner. >> he cleared out three of the four packages on the stoop even though they were covered by decor and took off in five seconds. >> it was last friday at 4:30 in the afternoon chevy did not realize what happened until she track aid package and checked the surveillance footage and saw the thief in action. >> it's someone that doesn't

care if they get caught and are not afraid of getting caught. >> one was a package she purchased and others were coats she is collecting from friends on social media for children at the east child school in philadelphia. >> kids 8 to 14, kids that didn't have hats and gloves and coats, essentials they need to go to and from school. >> look at the suspect, dark jacket, dark colored jeans and black skull cap and a distinct backpack. chevy spotted him twice in the neighborhood. >> there he was walking down the street probably 100 feet behind an ups truck dropping packages and low and behold later that day i was coming up spring garden there he was again. >> now chevy posted her video on

owner mike brought him to the vet. the diagnosis was rat poisoning and his little brother jimmy had it in his system too. it was horrifying to him and his wife, ann that wonder how and why anyone with poison their dogs. >> they are sick, something wrong with them. who would think of that? poison an animal? >> the dog as long with another beagle named toby live in the backyard pens along with chickens that roam the property. the puppies became sick after police came to their house at 2:00 in the morning. >> two stupid cats, they make a noise and the dog went crazy. what is their job. that is what they do, we talk and they bark. >> this is not the first time they have had their animals

poisoned. two years ago the animals died. at the urging of their veterinarian they report tropical disturbance to police who refer tropical disturbanc referred it to the spca. >> this is not normal. >> i hope not. that is sad. >> they spent $2,000 on vet bills and medications, thankfully becky and jimmy are on the mend but they would like no know who has repeatedly given rat poisoning to their puppies and why. i'm nora muchanic, channel 6 "action news." >> in philadelphia, former pennsylvania governor, ed rendell led a panel of judges today to determine the winner of the 2016 citizen challenge. the essay contest was for fourth and fifth graders from the philadelphia region held at the constitution center. the question posed to the students was this, should be do away with the electoral college.

a philadelphia neighborhood has its share of holiday intrigue this year. someone is going around stealing 1's and 0's from numbers on the front of people's homes. now all of a sudden they have shown up again. live on the 2200 block of east amber street in east kensington. here is bob brooks. >> reporter: well jim, there are a number of possible

explanations of why this happen. this story is odd. they are called the binary bandit stealing 1's and now they are finally hanging it up. if you head down amber street in east kensington you'll see homes missing their 1's and 0's, the odd theft being blamed on the notorious binary bandits, the duo believed to be a man and woman and megan caught one bandit on a camera in september stealing a 0 from her home. >> there is the bandit taking the 0 and running away. >> there say mystery. >> in is speculation that there is an art installation. >> probably an art project, that is the rumor going around and i

it didn't take long for temple to find a new football coach. >> just a week. jeff collins is the new head coach at temple. he will be formerly introduced tomorrow at 11:00. collins takes the reins of a program on the rise. a native of georgia, spent the last two seasons at the university of florida. as a defendantsive coordinator, florida was ranked sixth and ten and nationally. and prior no that was at mississippi state and his former boss is singing his praises. >> we are really excited about the opportunity for him and his family at temple. it's a place that has really done a great job and he'll carry that on. i'm really excited for him moving forward. >> from temple's football team to the basketball squad. the owls have a tall order tonight, they visit top ranked and undefeated villanova on the main line. jaime apody is live at the

poconos, mt. pocono now we have a snow shower over lake harmony lifting up to the north and a weak system and strong arctic boundary pulling through and that brings us 60 hours of below freezing temperatures, this is the time to find the real heavy jacket. the hats and gloves, you'll need them by thursday and also don't forget to bring the pet fz at this time. they need to stay warm and if you have not done so already disconnect your hoses and shut off your outside water so your pipes don't freeze. in addition to the cold temperatures, winds are gusting on thursday, up to 40 miles per hour. so once we get past 9:00 in the morning, we'll have windchills in the single digits, it's not a situation where it's cold in the morning and then warms up it's brutally cold through the day on thursday. right now you step outside not that bad. 41 town from 44, 1 degree below

normal. the poconos 29 with some snow showers and cape may 40 and trenton currently 39 degrees. satellite 6 along with action radar showing you we have the weak front up to the north and west pulling through late tonight and low pressure to the south that is heading directly east we are kind of in the zone between the two. the air is sinking and that means it's drying, we won't see much activity and could get a sprinkle or flurry overnight and not much more than that. 38 in allentown and 30 in wilmington and trenton and cape may 35 degrees, seasonably cold. tomorrow a nice december day. a few cumulous clouds in the afternoon and a little bit colder but not a windy day. 42 degrees and all in all not bad at all. the big change comes with the arctic front that is through midnight tomorrow night you will feel and hear the winds, wind gusts, 30 to 40 miles per hour

temperatures are not really moving at all. the lehigh valley at 5:00 and across the shore about 15 degrees and the high pressure builds in on friday and it will be very cold, the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast sun and clouds tomorrow and 42 degrees and thursday the biting winds, and flurries and 24 degrees and friday not as windy and still brutally cold and 27 and saturday we have the winter storm. it cuts to the west and what this means it pulls in warm air and will start as snow after midnight friday night, a period of icing before a gradual change ore to rain and the biggest concern is the far north western suburbs before the change over to rain. on sunday mild and periods of rain and 55 degrees, a dreary weekend and monday the sun is back and brisk and colder and 34 degrees and tuesday partly sunny and 39 degrees. a lot of details to iron out with saturday, we'll have more
