by an off campus apartment in two months. a man with a gun broke into the house on main street and four temple students were asleep at the time and another saw the suspect wearing a ski mask. he ran off when she called police and now they are looking into if it's the same person that pulled off a heist a month ago in the same area. philadelphia police are looking for a brazen thief while part of a police officer's uniform was taken off a bench. sara bloomquist is live with that. >> reporter: police looking to apprehend this man that stole a good part of the police officer's uniform from the fifth floor of the justice center. the concern is not only that this guy has a good part of the officer's uniform but that was a brazen act committed under the watchful eyes of officers and

deputies all over that building. this is the man police are looking for yesterday mid-day he made his way around the criminal justice center and walked away with a police officer's uniform jacket, his badge and his department issue hat with a piece attached similar to this one. >> the male you see in the video took the jacket and the hat and looked like he may have placed either the badge or belongings from the jacket or the jacket itself inside of a macy's bag before exiting the criminal justice center. >> the officer stepped away in a courtroom to participate in a case leaving his belongings behind. the officers are over there all day long sometimes for a lengthy time. not anything abnormal to take off your jacket or hat while testifying. look at the man, his hat and clothing, police officers in the

furnish investigation, all are being held on $75,000 bail. this man, 60-year-old allen wickersham is due in court on felony child pornography charges. more than 5,000 explicit images of children were found inside and confessed to detectives about possessing the pictures. the dow jones continues to flirt with the 20,000 point mark as stocked went on another rally today. one day after the federal reserve announced a hike in interest rates, wall street continued their post election boom. 150 point shy of 20,000 and the s&p was up 8. called one of the biggest hack attacks on a tech company. 1 billion yahoo! users had their

the man behind the wheel during last month's last month's deadly school bus crash in tennessee will face a grand jury. police say that 24-year-old johnthony walker was driving 20 miles per hours over the speed limit and using a cell phone while driving but did not specify if he was on the phone during the incident. six children died in the crash and dozens of others were injured. investigators say that traces of explosives were found on the victims of egypt 804 was

on route to cairo when it plunged into the sea and all 66 people on board died. now an official investigation on the way they found evidence that explosives were on board. no one has claimed responsibility for the attack. delaware health officials say that an 87-year-old man is the first fatality of this flu season. he had a number of underlying medical conditions and delaware has 64 confirmed cases. so far flu activity is low and expected to pick up over the holidays, now is the time of course to get vaccinated. >> maybe the a no brainer for you to bundle up. but teens think it's not cool to bundle up even when it can endanger them. parents resist your teen's

toys, all donated by fans at recent flyers games. a buck county man whose bike was stolen was reunited with his set of wheels thanks to the help of neighbors and in the process they proved how much good you can do when you work together. john rawlins has the story new at 5:00 tonight. >> he is a fixture in doylestown borough, everybody knows randy. >> randy is a special needs man that works several part-time jobs. his fat tire bike is how he gets around and somebody stole the bike yesterday and word went out on facebook. >> they said randy's bike was stolen from the train station. >> leslie monitors community sites and reached out to bike works. >> the community was worried by they know that randy uses that bike to get around to his jobs.

members of the delaware law enforcement community paid tribute to the men and women that gave their lives to our nation. and the wreath convoy made a stop on its way to arlington national ceremony carrying thousands of wreaths to be placed on the graves of soldiers. the philadelphia police 14th district invited students from three schools as well as residents from a local nursing home to sit down for a meal together. it was a surprise when santa claus came off the truck and came inside. santa brought lots of gifts and brought plenty of smiles. >> the delaware academy student got an early christmas present

time for accuweather at the "action news" big board. cecily tynan has the forecast and camelback is frozen. >> this is a live snapshot. >> oh. >> can't move it's so cold. you know while most of us are complaining about the cold weather this is great news for the ski resorts they are making a lot of snow. this time last year camelback was not even open. we have the cold air and snow and temperatures are really rising over the weekend and getting very rainy as well. right now still very gusty, wind gusts 31 miles per hour in philadelphia and 26 in allentown and wilmington 37 miles per hour winds with winds out of the west and the way it feels on exposed skin, the windchill 5 in philadelphia, 1 in reading and 1 below in lancaster and 4 in wilmington.

this is why you have to cover up and dress in layers if you head outside. satellite 6 along with action radar showing we have a few lake-effect snow flurries here and there with strong winds out of the northwest. the winds are diminishing as high winds build over us and temperatures drop very quickly. 15 degrees is the low in philadelphia and the coldest december morning in eight years, allentown down to 10 and lancaster 12 and cape may 20 and trenton 14 degrees, the winds are diminishing and you don't need much of a breeze when temperatures are so low. 6:00 in the morning feels like 5 degrees in philadelphia and the good news is when temperatures don't climb out of the 20s in the afternoon the winds diminish and by tomorrow afternoon instead of windchills in the single digits close to the air temperature. we have a messy winter storm on the way. the snow begins after midnight. friday night and 6:00 in the morning, you can see south jersey and delaware

hello again here is what it happening on "action news" tonight. the bitter cold is not just dangerous for people. >> animal control officers in trenton are on the lookout for pets left outside. these dangerous conditions can live to hypothermia, frostbite and death. and a buck county man goes to great lengths to not be arrested. why authorities wanted him behind bars in the first place. and a plea for help for the smallest citizens from the war torn area of aleppo.

cats and dogs have fur they can stay outdoors indefinitely. if you are cold so is your animal. in weather like this it's time to bring them in. nora muchanic, channel 6 "action news." slick roads may have played a role in a crash that seriously injured a driver in the feltonville section overnight. authorities say that the driver lost control and hit a tree and then the car caught on fire and the driver was rushed to einstein medical center for treatment. this is christopher hess of buck county held on more than $100,000 bail after allegedly ramming two police cars during a traffic stop in bensalem yesterday. he was wanted for armed robbery and drug charges and ditched the car and took off on foot. officers from bristol township chased him and arrested him. now the latest on president-elect donald trump's transition to the white house. a busy day for his team.

in university city people braved the temperatures to make sure families had a warm turkey dinner for christmas. this was the annual turkey project. alumni students and staff donated the money to buy the turkeys and loaded the turkeys to various vehicles where they will be distributed to nonprofit agencies and shelters. some 3,000 families will enjoy hot meals because of these efforts. our birds want to finish strong.
