this noon with incredible developments from a new jersey highway. some vehicles were ripped to pieces during a nasty multivehicle collision. despite all the damage everyone survived. annie mccormick joins us from the logan police department with the full story. >> rick, we just learned from logan township police they have issued a summons for reckless driving and that is for the operator of the tractor trailer that they believe caused the accident. >> chopper 6 hd over the scene of a multivehicle accident just before 3:30 this morning and preliminary reports believe that a tractor trailer hauling a tanker of waste water failed to stop and plowed into traffic at a stand still because of an earlier issue on the road. >> there were seven vehicles involved in the crash and three of which were in the median and three of which were on the right

shoulder. >> and multiple agencies responded and emergency crews rushed victims to local hospitals and none had life-threatening injuries, the driver of this honda with the roof torn off was alive and talking and police stopped other drivers from plunging into a pond along the highway. there was so much debris police had to bring a dumpster to the scene. >> we were expecting life-threatening injuries but thus far there is no life-threatening injuries, everybody appears to be inconsiderably decent shape. >> we are told that the roadway should be completely cleared in 15 to 20 minutes. ar for the conditions of the victim. we were told they were taken to cooper hospital. annie mckofrmic, channel 6

"action news." >> thank you. a series of violent attacks on local women have been connected to one man according to authorities. police just announced murder charges against byron allen for the death of natasha gibson in delaware county. she was stabbed and beaten in september. alan was previously charged in four other knife attacks against women in philadelphia and was in custody for the past several months. we'll have a live report in this case coming up later at 12:30? in radnor township, chopper 6 hd was over the scene of a water rescue this morning. a drever lost control and drove into a creek at 7:30 a.m. at saw mill lane. two people were trapped in the vehicle and fire crews were able to get them out and no word on their conditions or why the car veered out of control. >> turning to accuweather the fis day of winter is feeling a

killing his wife, tara o'shea. they spent hours searching the remote area but had no luck finding the 32-year-old fugitive. a man was ambushed and shot to death sitting in his car. he walked up to a toyota camera and shot the victim multiple times before 1:30 this morning and was found dead on the unit block of north 41st street in philadelphia. investigators have not released his name. a philadelphia community has been chosen to receive thousands in federal grant money. the announcement came in west philadelphia. mayor jim kenney and dr. williams hite and various community members were there to celebrate. drexel will receive close to $6 million from the department of education to improve opportunities for children.

the death toll after an explosion at a fireworks market in mexico has climbed to 31. so far nine bodies are identified. among them a 3-month-old boy and 12-year-old girl. more than 70 people were hurt in the blast. investigators have not yet said what may have caused the deadly explosion and the death toll is expected to continue to rise, the market was well stocked with fireworks for the holidays. queen elizabeth ii and her husband have delayed their

the day, for the most part they are high, thin clouds and you see the sun filtering through a bit and lots of clouds out there and we are staying dry today and in the lehigh valley more clouds than sun and not as cold as it has been. a high of 42 degrees and down the shore more sunshine than the rest of us will see, rather mild with 46 degrees for your high. not too shabby for the first day of winter and hitting 46 degrees, 2:00 this afternoon 43 degrees and our high is 45 and we hit it around 3:00 or so. 4:00 p.m. we come down from that at 41 and sunshine filtering through with the clouds and 8:00, 34 and 10:00, 33 degrees and the overnight low is 30 another cold night. and then the front comes through tomorrow and ahead of it we get a mild surge, up to 50 degrees for your high temperature. normally would be in the low 40s that is quite a bit above
