by her estranged husband and he continues to allude police. it is thursday night and the big story on action news tonight is a cumberland county community still trying to come to grips with the grizzly murder of a 35-year-old mother who had been murdered in front of her 12-year-old son. action news reporter christie ileto was in commercial township tonight. >> reporter: outside the trailer tara o'shea called home friends and family gathered. it wasn't the family gathering tara o'shea's loved ones were expecting to have this holiday. >> this is devastating to our community because it is just terrible. it could have been prevented. >> reporter: the 35-year-old mother was in an abusive relationship with estranged

husband jeremiah monell. police discovered her body inside her home. a truck believed to be monell's was discovered deep in the county woods but tho sign of him. >> we didn't expect any of this to happen because she should have been in tennessee. she went to court and because jeremiah had, she had kids with jeremiah, the judge wouldn't let her go. so now we're doing this. days before christmas. >> reporter: tara's mother didn't want to be filmed but preached the dangers of domestic violence during the vigil. >> it has to be stopped. >> reporter: while family and friends draped o'shea's christmas decorations she had hung for the holidays with balloons, candles and heartfelt message. >> there's candles, balloons but that doesn't matter because who

cashing grace's monthly social security checks. the mother has been charged with obstruction and child endangerment and police are asking the public for any information of sara packer's potential involvement with the death of her daughter. a nasty crash now breaking from chopper 6. it is causing big traffic troubles along roosevelt boulevard. a multivehicle crash has littered the inner and outer lanes with wreckage. this happened a half hour ago. we know two men have been taken to einstein medical center with serious condition. this is how a police chase came to an end tonight in the fairmount section of philadelphia. authorities say a drunk driver was going the wrong way on a 1-way street. officers say they had to smash out his window to stop him at 19th and spring garden. fortunately nobody was hurt. the holiday travel blitz is now under way and today is

considered one of the busiest travel days of the year. more than 103 million americans are expected to take a trip over the holidays which would set a record. the biggest increase over last year will come in air travel. 6 million people will fly to family or friends. now, let's take a live look from sky 6 at philadelphia international airport. we at least don't have to worry about a winter storm causing any delays. let's get a first look at the holiday weekend outlook from accuweather meteorologist cecily tynan at the big board. >> the winter storm that's causing the rain and snow across the rockys and the plains, this will have an impact on our christmas eve. but until then we're just really enjoying a warm-up. monday and tuesday temperatures are stuck in the 30s, yesterday 45, today our high shot up to 53 degrees. that's a full 10 degrees above normal. it was mild. satellite 6 along with action

diving team. school administrators say team members posted material described as vulgar and offensive on the school sponsored team mailing list. there were also alleged miss oxygen nisic and racist comments on the women's swim team. new jersey families who suspect their elderly or disabled loved one is being abused by a home health aide, they can get help to secretly investigate. they can borrow hidden surveillance cameras from the state for free to see if their fears are justified. new jersey's attorney general unveiled the program. the mayor is taking a step to help prevent immigrant businesses forfrom being targets for criminals. this is his new council on asian-american affairs. its job is to help change the

immigrant culture of not trusting banks and other institutions and keeping large sums of money at home. the development comes after a rash of violent armed robberies across the city. >> we have a responsibility to meet your needs, to keep you safe and to respect your culture and your contribution to our city. >> last year police say 16% of the city's home invasion robberies were committed against asian households. that makes them the most frequently targeted group. the mayor has also made a deal to give up his official suite for flyers and sixers games to raise money for the district. the city will also get a cut of sales to other events like concerts. the mayor's office is trying to negotiate a similar deal at lincoln financial field. it was a bonanza for 150 youngsters tonight in philadelphia thanks to the

shoppers have returned to the christmas market in berlin. it was the scene of mass carnage on monday. today authorities released dash cam video that actually shows the terrorist truck coming in from the left and plowing into the market sending shoppers running to safety. 12 people were killed. today police raided an apartment looking for clues as to the whereabouts of anis amri. they say his fingerprints were in the cab of the truck. they know he was the driver. the syrian government has

high pressure just to the south. we'll see mostly sunny skies, some clouds beginning to stream in during the afternoon. it will be cooler today, slightly above normal, 46 degrees, and a storm system i showed you at the top of the newscast, currently in the plains that will be moving up to our north on saturday. what this means it drags a cold front through. that will bring us rain for the first half of the day, some sunshine late in the afternoon and again temperatures pretty warm for this time of the year. 48 degrees. so if you're hoping for any snow, best chance, wee hours of the morning, 4:00 in the morning could get a touch of snow in the northern lehigh valley in the poconos. 8:00 it's rainy, by lunchtime the steady rain moving across south jersey and delaware. the good news is it's out of here by the afternoon. 4:30 in the afternoon the clouds will be breaking for some
