you, 6:00 a.m. on this saturday, christmas eve, here's some of the stories we're following on "action news." rain is moving through the area we've got the updated information from accuweather and when this rain will move out of here. also, some breaking news this morning, a stretch of i-95 in bucks county closed because of a crash. we have the details. shoppers make last minute decisions, but not all are rushing to the mall. first meteorologist chris sowers is here with a look ahead at the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. no snow, but a whole lot of rain. >> reporter: the good news, gray, the freezing rain threat in the poconos that has ended there, as well, temperatures are above freezing. you have to go up to wilks-berre /scranton area to get snow showers. in and around the philadelphia area it's rain, temperatures in the 30s and hoes, we're seeing -- 40s this morning, we're seeing liquid

precipitation, we're not going to make any zooms because moderate rain for this same point. philadelphia, 40. 41 in millville. 44 in cape may and atlantic city. trenton, 38 degrees, lancaster, well above freezing, 38 degrees. forecast for today, christmas eve, 40 degrees by 9:00 a.m. periods of rain, that should continue through midday, for 11:00, 42. it's a slow jump in temperatures, by 1:00 p.m. we should shut that rain off, jersey shore it hangs on 2, 2:30 p.m., north and west it will clear out by lunchtime. 5:00 p.m., peeks of sunshine, we start the drying process, it will be milder shooting for a high of 49 degrees this afternoon. clearing this afternoon, looks dry for santa tonight and then it turns milder in the accuweather seven-day forecast. i'll have the details coming up

in ten minutes. gray. looking forward to it, chris, thank you so much. 6:01. there's new information coming in on the breaking news we told you about the crash that closed i-95 south between woodhaven and academy roads, we know this morning that 14 people were hurt, they were taken to hospitals. the severity of their injuries not clear. the southbound lanes are expected to reopen soon. the northbound lanes are not blocked. >> well this weekend people are weathering the shopping storm for folks and others, better late than never. they went shopping early this morning as stores extended hours, some stayed open, 24 hours. just hours enough to grab the final gifts. people are coming to the store with a game plan and others are choosing to shop from home, that's troubling for retailers. jeff chirico has a look at the

shopping dilemma. >> reporter: you'll wrap it up tonight? >> tonight and tomorrow, a couple of drinks along the way. >> reporter: at king of prussia many are mapping out strategies to beat the clock scouring stores for the special gift or christmas cheer. >> i want to soak up the holidays in the mall, decorations and music. >> i think i'm better under pressure. >> reporter: like every year, nick waited to start his shopping until the last day, this year he said it was noticeable easier. >> i feel like the crowds this year and traffic easier. >> easy, walk through and get what you need. >> reporter: there was plenty of room to walk and lines were short, walmart we found parking spaces, some speculate online shopping is to blame. >> most of it has been done online, the specialty stores you want to feel something. >> i like shopping online for a few things and getting out and

spending time together and doing the shopping among the crowds. >> reporter: 76% of americans will shop from a mobile device, convenient, yes, but that could be to blame for the poor sales from the ornament kiosk this season. >> there's no profit at all. >> reporter: despite the online trend malls offer something the internet can't. >> it's nice to see the decorations at it is people, it gets you in the spirit. >> reporter: if you're not done your shopping you have pleasant of time, the mall closes tonight at 6:00 p.m. at the king of prussia mall, jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> we're tracking other stories of the morning for you, family and friends of a missing south jersey veteran is launch a christmas eve search in efforts to find clues of his whereabouts. lance james disappeared december 2, after a fight at the

hideaway tavern in clementon. he started walking back to his apartment a few blocks away, after that there was no sign of him. the group will search the area starting at 10:00 a.m. this morning. there's a search for a burglar breaking into stores across the three counties in the area. 6 in philadelphia, 5 in bensalem, and one in radnor county. crime spree started november 19. he breaks into the store overnight by shattering glass doors with a hammer. he is in and out within minutes. it is hard to identify him he coverses face. his getaway vehicle is an orderly model mercedes benz and chrysler town and county minivan. shots were fired by a

upstairs driver in chester. the driver man made a quick-thinking decision to drive to a nearby car dealership where he understood ambulances were often serviced. >> he came in, because he knew it was safe. we always have police around we service the chester vehicles and take care of the paramedic. sure enough there was a paramedic here who took him in and took him to the hospital. >> police don't believe the ups driver was the intended target, but they say he was likely struck by a stray bullet or crossfire shooting that happened at 10th and highland in chester. a fitness company in center city has gone out of business. the owner and the clients understandably upset. dann cuellar has the story. >> reporter: it's a special place. >> reporter: steaf -- stephanie was devastated when she arrived

at the studio for women only shuttered. all access to the second floor of the facility denied. >> i've been following on instagram and people have been posting all day. >> reporter: the perky owner of lithe is seen here. she has been operating for 11 years now. she tells us by phone she had to shut down after her assets were seized, this happened after she opened a new york city studio and got into a war with the landlord and lost. >> we were blind sided and he closed our accounts on wednesday. >> reporter: unain't to pay the employees and pay the bills, for followers her facility and commitment to its members was like anything else where. >> how to support us outside

morning. we go live on sky6 live hd, we are in wilmington, delaware. we have rain falling across the viewing area. let's flip it over to the radars. it's a shield of rain from the western suburbs to the jersey shore. everybody up to the poconos, jersey shore, some of it is coming down rather steadily at times. atlantic county, route 40 to mays landing to malaga is wet. oceanville reporting moderate rain. farther off to the northwest into the city of philadelphia, you can see the shield of green, the rain from 322 woodbury all the way up to jenkintown and willow grove. last stop lehigh valley, testers cooler, but we're seeing plain rain as all the numbers have jumped well above freezing at this point. some parts of the viewing area

in the mid 40s. 34 in quakertown. the freezing mark is 32, as long as we're higher than that, there shufnt be any issues on -- should not be any issues on the roads. pottstown, 34. 36 in saint davids. center city, 39. warrington, 37. look what's happening in south jersey, look at the 40s already starting to show up. 40 in gandys beach in vineland. woodbine, 42. on the boards in atlantic city, 46. in the villas, dell haven, cape may, 44 degrees, cinnaminson, 38. obviously we'll not see any snow out of this, it's all rain. it will not impact christmas eve too much, over the next few hours, you can see how rapidly this is moving. by lunchtime this will be gone, but an hour or two longer at the jersey shore. steady rain for the i-95

corridor. you can see how quickly this is racing off to the east. lunchtime, western suburbs are beginning to dry. lehigh valley looks like you're drying, poconos, as well. raining steadily across south jersey and the jersey shore. by 3:00 p.m. we'll see peeks of sunshine, later this afternoon everything clears out nicely in time for santa and the christmas eve services by 11:00 p.m. we're all clear. we're talking about numbers in the mid to upper 30s by 11:00, it's not going to be too terribly cold. today, mild, 49 degrees that's the forecasted high morning rain so o steady. during the afternoon it will be damp and gloomy at first, peeks of sunshine should develop late, maybe by 3, 44:00 p.m., we'll see sunshine, that's when temperatures begin to climb. 48 degrees by 3:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m., 46 there's the forecasted high of 49. later this evening, for the christmas eve services partly cloudy, not too chilly.

you'll need a jacket, not a scarf or hat or anything like that. no windchills to talk about. 36 degrees by midnight. temperatures fall from there, but it's not getting too colday, but not as mild always last year when we topped out at 68 degrees. this is nice for christmas day, mostly sunny and pleasant, high temperatures around 46. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, 49 degrees on christmas eve, some locations south and east, getting into south jersey could hit 50. 46 sunny and nice for christmas day, monday, lots of clouds, 50 degrees is the forecasted high. tuesday it gets milder, look at that high, 57 degrees, there could rain during the afternoon, wednesday, thursday, friday, you can see the numbers are kind of bouncing around a little bit there, gray. 42 wednesday, and 48 degrees for thursday, but all of them are well above seasonal average. >> when are we going to see

never, never, never, okay to retaliate and hit a woman the way i did. >> we are told the woman in the video had numerous broken bones in her face, she filed a civil lawsuit against nixon. police in new jersey arrested two women in their alleged roles in the shooting of a south jersey women using a lyft driver. 27-year-old amber dudley died after being shot during a robbery attempt last month in trenton. the search continues for the gunman. student loan debt you know it does not go away, federal government is stocking social security checks to recoup old loans. they have collected $1.1 billion

that's a late day high. that's not going to occur until 7 or 8:00 p.m. in the evening. we get into tuesday, hello, 57 degrees, that's very mild, periods of rain and it begins to turn seasonable by week's end, wednesday, thursday, friday, temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. santa will be sweating when he gets to town tomorrow. >> reporter: how does he lands his sleigh if there's no snow. >> it's all magic chris. 6:46. i want to show you this new video from overnight of the minnesota vikings being rescued after their plane skidded off the runway and got stuck in grass, it happened on a snowy appleton international airport in wisconsin. the team was heading to green bay for their matchup against the packers. players were stranded for hours, because the plane did not have a stairway tall enough to reach the doorway. emergency crews brought in a fire truck with an extension ladder to get everyone off.
