breaking news from the mt. airy section of philadelphia where a crash led to a criminal investigation, a man was shot in the head while driving in the 500 block of west walnut lane. chopper 6 hd was over head when they were putting crime tape around the car. the sources tell "action news" that a woman was seen running from the crash. no arrests so far as police try to piece together exactly what happened. >> other news this afternoon. a house fire turned deadly this morning in delaware county, the flames claimed the life of a man whose body was found inside of the burned out rubble inside of the home. john rawlins live at the scene in concord township. john, you have the details here. >> authorities are not saying much at this point in time. they did recover a body, believed to be the body of the man that sometimes lives here but police caution they do not

have a positive i.d. yet. >> i smelled smoke and looked down the road and it was not hard to find. >> neighbor mike luke following the smoke from his home to the home burning a large rambling white two story house. he snapped these pictures as the flames intensified. he said the fire was remarkably hot. >> there was no fire apparatus here yet and i could hear them all coming. and it just wept up quick. it went from smoke to fully engulfed. >> luke said it took just 10 minutes for the entire left side to be engulfed in flames. they found the heavy fire in the room over the garage, the section with the garage was so badly damaged it later collapsed. the owner of the house and her son told firefighters the sole

unknown injuries. a deadly shooting in burlington county, new jersey, took the life of a 32-year-old. he was found shot to death in willingboro, and his body was found at 2:30 this morning. they are working to develop a motive. police are following new leads in the search for a missing new jersey woman and her granddaughter. they were driving from mays landing to north carolina. family members have not heard from them since saturday when they stopped for gas in virginia but virginia state police have new information indicating that the two may be in the try cities area today. police consider to search for the family. >> maybe she went towards the mountains and her car broke down and i am not thinking nothing other than. i know she is going to come back. >> barbara and lamire were

traveling in a toyota rav 4. c 80-els. this is the scene when a tractor trailer crashed and burst into flames. police believe the driver of that tractor trailer was hauling goods from shop-rite before crashing at levitt street narrowly missing gas gumps. flames engulfed the truck and two people were hurt and they are expected to be okay. this afternoon the driver of the tractor trailer went back to the scene to remove some items from his damaged truck, the intersection there was shut down for most of the day as hazmat crews and the water department worked to clean it up because of all the diesel fuel that spilled. firefighters were able to stop the flow of gas but it was a scary scene. >> the gas station is going to

interest before he takes the presidency. a horrific child abuse case has a harrisburg couple sitting behind bars. police say that they allegedly tried to starve their children to death. the 4 and 5-year-old girls and 6-year-old son told police that their parents locked them in a bedroom and they had no heat and were starved for periods of time and violently attacked. investigators believe that the abuse started in september when joshua reportedly decided he no longer wanted the children and they are facing multiple charges and held on a million dollars bail. a washington, d.c. woman missing since christmas was founded in her car. 40-year-old tricia mccauley a yoga teacher and actress never showed up for dinner on christmas. the store gave police surveillance video of the suspect using her car to rob a

lane. walter perez is leave with the latest from police. >> reporter: we'll give you a live look at the scene right here at the foot of the walnut street bridge, the accident scene is cleared up but the area is still cordoned off by police, keep that in mind. it happened at 12:30 this afternoon. the unidentified driver of a ford expedition lost control and witnesses say that the vehicle when airborne and crashed into the subaru and a woman then escaped from the passenger side of the suv and ran away. when police arrived they found the 33-year-old male driver of the suv was shot once in the temple and pronounced dead at the scene, the search continues for the female passenger but there is no word at this hour about her possible involvement in the actual shooting, the driver of the subaru we are told is a professor at a local university and suffered minor injuries and refused
