and sara are off. i'm alicia vitarelli in the news police are looking for a man seen appearing through people's windows in south jersey. plus, authorities respond to a local building after grenades are reportedly found inside. and a freezing blast of winter wind making it feel like the 20s outside today. and if you have friday night plans you'll want to bundle up. david murphy is giving us a first check of the accuweather forecast. >> you know what alicia? i picked it, i wanted to dress up and give people the visual cue. we have sunshine giving way to increasing clouds sweeping through. you see that happening of the last hour or so. there is still sunshine breaking through the cloud cover but clouds are more prevalent and on a chilly day you like the sun on your shoulder. notice a couple of snow showers north of us, well north at this point. but up in the poconos and the

lehigh valley a chance of a flurry and quick hitting snow shower that could whiten the ground. 42 in philadelphia and 38 in allentown and 40 in trenton and 47 in wilmington. but that is not the entire story, we have strong wind gusts picking up. a 36 miles per hour gust in philadelphia and 28 in wilmington and 28 in allentown and these will grow a bit. we could see gusts as high as 40 before we are over this afternoon. and the windchill making it feel cooler, a windchill of 33 in philadelphia and 27 in reading and lancaster. as the winds pick up the windchills in the 20s will be the order of most of the afternoon. temperature-wise 41 by 2:00 and it looks like we may get up to 43, could sit on 42 for the next hour or so. and slide back down to the mid-30s by 6:00. and by 10:00 the winds are dying down and dropping down to 32 and

grations. she was a beloved staple of her community. and people are saying farewell to marie buck. she was shot and killed at her corner store on christmas eve. the unintended victim. annie mccormick is live. >> reporter: that funeral began at 11:00 and it's still underway, the family has some relief today since the news came yesterday that police have the person if custody that they believe is responsible for this cold blooded murder. >> family and friends arrived at st. mary magdalene for the good-bye to marie buck. the beloved grandmother killed at her store on christmas eve. yesterday homicide captain james clark announced charges against 31-year-old maurice green saying he shot buck 11 times, the motive a dispute over buck's grandson over an expensive gold

chain and he allegedly stole it from green and he went to the store to and front him. >> we think he went with the intent on killing the grandson and opened the door and saw the grandmother and made the choice to kill the grandson. >> buck was so popular hundreds turned out to show their respect last night and at a second viewing this morning and then to her funeral mass. >> she is wonderful i miss you marie. >> long time friends like lorraine expressed their grief. >> she just loved everybody. >> so did customers she got to know over the years and complete strangers moved by the senseless killing. >> it makes you feel a little bit better if justice is served. but that doesn't bring her back. >> i don't know how anybody could have done that. i don't care if it was for the grandson and chain, how could you have done that?

how could you have done that? >> and the burial will follow today's mass and police say that the suspect is no stranger to them. he has at least a dozen priors and most of them are for drugs, reporting live in south philadelphia. annie mccormick, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. someone has found what appears to be grenades inside of an apartment building inside philadelphia. police responds at 11:00 this morning and it's not clear if those grenades are live or just props. this is happening near the temple university campus but officials say that the building is not associated with the university. police say that a domestic dispute led to an early morning crash in the feltonville section of philadelphia. it happened before 1:00 at the intersection of d and lowden streets. after crashing into the home the driver got out and ran off. the woman that was in the car

tried to run after him leaving a child in the backseat. offices found the woman and the man is on the run and no word if charges will be filed. the search is on for a peeping tom in seasonal. police are trying to side if i this man seen on this surveillance video here. peeping into the windows in glassboro on wednesday. investigators believe he did the same thing at a different house on december 7th, anyone with information about the suspect should contact grass bro police. a tiny pest that could cause massive damage, made its way to the port of philadelphia. fruit flies found at the port in camden. the bugs were found in a recent shipment of clementines from morocco, it can destroy fruit by laying its eggs inside. an investation years ago caused

a man driving a u-haul truck led police on an hour long chase in tucson, arizona. the man reportedly robbed a store and then fled and managed to avoid hitting other cars but tried to carjack another vehicle and that is when police shot him. he was taken to the hospital in stable condition. the u.s. coast guard is searching lake eerie for a missing plane with six people on board. three adults and three children were flying to columbus, ohio when the plane disappeared from radar, there is no sign of any debris so far. a 40-year-old mother is dead after a freak accident at a ski

resort. >> station one respond to ski ranch for three people that fell approximately 25 feet. >> rescuers rushed thereafter a woman and her two daughters fell. the two daughters 9 and 12 are going to be okay but the accident left their mother dead. the family was visiting from texas and investigators are trying to figure out how they fell 20 feet from the lift. statistics show that chair-lifts are very safe. a 6-year-old kidnapping victim is reunited with her very relieved mom. the video tell its all. the two embracing in a big hug after police found the little girl safe in los angeles yesterday. someone jumped into the mom's lexus parked outside of a laundry mat and took off with her daughter still inside of the car.

the suspect let the girl out and kept ongoing with the stolen vehicle and the suspect and vehicle are still miss snoog abc news learned that the family of hollywood legends debbie reynolds and carrie fisher says they are planning a join funeral for mother and daughter. debbie reynolds best known for her role in singing in the rain died of a stroke on wednesday just one day after the passing of her daughter, carrie fisher, best known as princess leia in the star wars saga. just 30 minutes before her fatal stroke reynolds said she wants to join her daughter. he tweeted this image calling their bond a love story. and a special 20/20 debbie and carrie heart break in hollywood. here on 6 abc. still ahead on "action news" a famous deli is serving up their final sandwiches before they close for good at midnight.

well, you see it there snowflakes came out to meet residents in west grove, chester county. the action cam was along route 841 as pedestrians and drivers navigated through light snowfall. it looked pretty. later in the holiday weekend it will be too warm for scenes like this in most of the area. warm being your operative term this new years eve eve. >> it's milder than it has been lots of years, we'll talk about

that in a moment. for now stormtracker 6 live double scan shows you we actually developed a couple of small snow showers that apopping in areas across south philadelphia. and for the most part areas south of wilmington and salem and cumberland county a burst of snow coming through. if it's heavy enough it could white enthe surface quickly and make for a temporary slick spot. if you are down in south jersey north of millville and in and around millville that is an area to watch out for. and route 1 heading down to newcastle delaware. a couple more of smaller cells popping up and these are in the last couple of minutes. around pottstown, looks like down toward malvern. some of are you seeing snow shower activity and that is all lake-effect snow caught up in a strong flow from the west to the great lakes to the north and west. it looks like this little chunk

is through pretty quick. outside we have sky 6 hd earlier chop 6, we have the hd imagery of center city looking good with sun mixing with clouds, this picture and cumulous clouds and fair weather clouds popping up and more than fair weather with snow showers coming down out of the clouds, 42 is the temperature and winds from the west at 20 miles per hour. sustained wins and gusts in the 30s across the region, windchills probably making it fell down around the freezing mark and in the 20s for much of the afternoon. 37 in reading and 42 in philadelphia and you can see that is really the high water mark along the i-95 corridor, south you get milder with temperatures in the low 40s, future tracker 6 picking up the snow shower activity and that will be more likely in the poconos and perhaps in allentown and we see this stuff break down to philadelphia right now.

hopefully what we have on the radar currently in south jersey and that could be part of your package today. the lehigh valley forecast mixing with clouds windy and feeling like you are in the 20s in the lehigh valley, and windy and chilly at the shore. low 30s and philadelphia we sit on 42 degrees now and probably stay there for another hour or so before temperatures start to slide with the colder air coming in on the north northwest wind and winds gust 30 to 40 miles per hour and windchills often today and into the early evening. making it feel like 20s. and that could happen for a dinner and movie tonight. 28 is the overnight cold low and 43 degrees on saturday and all the way to 50 on sunday and in between those two items we have your fireworks happening as the new year gets rung in. 6:00 the early fireworks, 39

degrees and temperatures may rise a bit as we head toward midnight and we could be in the low 40s in philadelphia and penn's landing as the late fireworks are ensuing. windy and chilly today and 43 tomorrow and breezy and less windy overall and in the low 40s in a lot of areas on midnight saturday night, and new years day is looking good. and partly sunny and nice and not all that windy and mummers kicks off the parade with 44 degrees on broad street. up to 50 at 3:00 and upper 40s by the end of the parade and not until the end of our festivities are over and 48 monand 60 tuesday and drizzle and partly sunny and mild on wednesday. >> i like the 60 i see. thank you david. there is more to come in the next half hour of "action news" at noon. we got an update from police on the death of george michael but
