>> and get ready for more. accuweather says the rain will continue tomorrow. let's look live outside sky6 hd giving us the view of the dreary scene just outside city hall. meteorologist cecily tynan is at the "action news" big board with the details. hi cecily. >> hi, sharrie and rick. keep the umbrellas on hand because there's more rain on the way. storm tracker6 live double scan showing the first batch and low pressure down to our south is moving to the east so this will be drawing a close as we head through the evening hours. it will just be damp and dreary. however, there's another low pressure that's actually bring something severe weather across the deep south. that will be moving in during the day tomorrow. so, overnight tonight, some drizzle, some areas of fog but future tracker showing the second batch of rain will be moving in by about mid morning. by 10 o'clock the steadiest rain south of philadelphia and this will be overspreading our region in time for the lunch hour so definitely going to be wet again tomorrow. then i'm tracking a cold front

"action news" reporter walter perez is live outside of the evesham township police department tonight with the latest. walter. >> reporter: hey, rick. well investigators say they don't know what they're dealing with here. it may be a mentally disturbed man, it may be someone who thinks he's being funny but

what they do know is three reports have come in of a man driving and walking around this part of burlington county naked. the most recent incidents took place this past friday afternoon in evesham township. investigators say a heavyset man driving a jeep pulled over got out of his vehicle and simply started running toward a pair of teenaged girls. those girls quickly ran to their homes weren't not injured. two other very similar cases have been reported in nearby medford township. the most recent taking place nearly two weeks ago on december 21st. >> drove past the person came back again and then proceeded to get out of the vehicle completely naked and actually look into a trash can at one of the residents' house. >> reporter: medford police lieutenant arthur water man says the other encounter took place on november 30. in each of the cases the person involved is described as a heavyset white man with brown hair and an excessive amount of body hair. this his vehicle is described as an older model jeep way white decal on the right side

of the rear window. we spoke with people from both communities who say they want to make sure that their neighbors know what's going on. >> keeping an eye out talking to neighbors, making sure my neighbors are aware. >> reporter: now, the man involved has not injured anyone during any of these cases but authorities and neighbors as you would imagine want this person off the streets. anyone with any information is asked to call police. reporting live from evesham township police, walter perez channel6 "action news." sharrie. >> okay, walter, thank you. the search continues for a second suspect in the shooting of a 17-year-old in kent county delaware. police say the first suspect david brown was found hiding in bushes near the scene of the shooting yesterday. this happened in the parking lot of lake forest south elementary school in harrington. the victim is going to be okay but brown is suspected of getting rid of the gun. officials are still looking for tray kwan seth. police say he was the actual shooter. if you know the whereabouts of

traquan seth you're asked to call harrington police. funeral has been planned for the pennsylvania state trooper shot and killed while on duty last week. 23-year-old landon weaver's funeral will be nurse in altoona. he was responded to a domestic complaint friday night in huntingdon county when he was shot. state police later shot and killed the suspect during an overnight manhunt. governor tom wolf paid his respects for weaver today at the huntingdon barracks. >> the delaware man who survived a shooting rampage at a nightclub in istanbul turkey is making his way back to the u.s. tonight and he's speaking out about it. 39 people were killed in the attack on new year's eve and isis has claimed responsibility. abc's elizabeth hur has the very latest. >> reporter: turkish police releasing these new pictures of the suspect still on the loose with isis now calling him one of their soldiers. the terror group also claiming the attack was in response to

turkish military operations against them in syria. the scene reina nightclub in istanbul packed with some 600 revelers ringing the new year. then at 1:15 center city a.m., security cameras showing the man firing outside the club, then storming inside. the shooting lasting seven terrifying minutes. >> we heard something like a gun, shooting. after three, four seconds, boom, boom, boom. >> reporter: authorities believe the suspect then changed his clothes to blend with the crowd before getting away. >> all i can say is it's massive tragedy. this is very unfortunate. >> reporter: american tourist jacob raak among the dozens injured telling reporters he survived the attack by playing dead. >> i was with nine people.

seven of us were shot. seven of us were shot. >> reporter: turkish police say right now they are questioning eight people in connection with the attack but the gunman is not among them and so their search is continuing. in that new york, i'm elizabeth hur for channel6 "action news." >> back here it's a new year that means paying more for gas in pennsylvania. an increase in the state's gas tax officially kicked in yesterday. drivers in the keystone state are paying an extra eight cents a gallon. this will be the third and final increase under a law passed back in 2013 to pay for transportation projects. pennsylvania already has the highest gas tax in the country. the average for a gallon of gas is just over $2.50 in the philadelphia area. also in philadelphia, new beverage tax is now in effect. it adds 1.5 cents per ounce tax on sugar and artificially sweet tend soft drinks. city council approved the new legislation last june making philadelphia the first major u.s. city to pass a so-called

soda tax. the tax is expected to raise $91 million a year and it will be used to pay for prekindergarten community schools and rec centers in the city. >> penn state did not make it into the playoffs but they have a chance to go home with the rose bowl trove family the number five nittany lions are going up against the number nine trojans from usc. kickoff is just a few minutes away in pasadena and penn state fans are gathered all over the area to watch the big game. >> family members of a missingce desperate too learn their whereabouts. the pair were headed for a trip to big sur and expected to return on christmas day. gonzalez's sister says it's unusual for olivia to not communicate with her family. a texas family is suing apple claiming its face time app caused the death of their daughter five-year-old moriah mondisette. the attorney claims apple had the technology to lock out drivers from using face time but never installed it. apple has not filed a legal response to the lawsuit. >> in health check tonight

doctors have new guidelines for treating some patients with type two diabetes. the american college of physicians says when medication is needed, doctors should try metformin first. the group says it's more effective has fewer bad side effects and it's cheaper than most other oral medications. the acp says several new drugs have come on the market in recent years. however, they don't beat metformin. weight loss is always a top new year's resolution but also among the first to be broken. health coaches say many fail because they try to go it alone relying just on willpower. >> the best thing that works far more than willpower is friend power. then if people find a buddy or a friend or a community or a church group, you can actually do much better together than you can do alone. >> well, studies show when it comes to losing weight, social support is key because it

creates motivation and accountability. another strategy to work out for health, not for weight loss. doctors say the number on the scale isn't a very good barometer of your fitness. try measuring around the weight, the middle of the thigh and the arms to better see where you are losing fat. >> now you tell me. >> time for accuweather at the "action news" big board. >> meteorologist cecily tynan has your forecast first mondayod an umbrella, cecily. steadiest rain is moving out and we are life on sky6. spring mountain ski resort. there are some folks on the slopes despite the fact it was somewhat wet and dreary. storm tracker6 live double scan showing this first rounds of vain moving off the coast right now. we're left with some drizzle. lots of clouds and a little bit of fog and temperatures about where they should be for this time of the year. right now philadelphia 42 degrees down from a high of 43. couple degrees above normal. allentown 38, wilmington 42. cape may 44 and trenton currently 40 degrees. now that we're in january, temperatures really going nowhere. the entire month of january our high either 40 or 41 so the cold air is in place but lockage. this is some good news. the sunrise today 7:23. by the end of the month, 7:20.

sharrie williams is joining us tonight and here's what's happening on "action news" monday evening. president-elect trump is vowing to get to the bottom of the election hacking scandal despite u.s. intelligence pointing fingers at russia. what he's planning this week. also there was no stopping it. that's how one witness described a midair crash that killed three people in the lone star state. and two determined robbers didn't bother with doors during a break in on new year's eve. >> now the details. president-elect donald trump will take office officially 18 days from today. mr. trump is promising to reveal new information on the election hacking while still questioning russia's involvement. abc's elizabeth hur is live in new york with more. elizabeth. >> reporter: sharrie, later this week trump is expected to get that briefing from intelligence officials and as of now trump says he is still skeptical claiming he knows a lot about hacking and there's more to this story. regarding allegations of

russian hacking, president-elect donald trump offering this cryptic comment. >> i also know things that other people don't know. and so they cannot be sure of this situation. >> reporter: what do you know that other people don't know. >> you'll find out on tuesday or wednesday. >> reporter: trump still doubting whether russia interfered in the u.s. election and his incoming white house press secretary sean spicer on fox and friends on monday with this clarification. >> he is privilege industry information that nobody else is. but what i think what he is driving at is the fact that there doesn't seem to be conclusive evidence within the intelligence community. >> reporter: but 17 u.s. intelligence agencies concluded russia was behind the hacking and the top democrat on the house intelligence committee says the evidence is as good as it gets. >> if he's going have any credibility as president he needs to stop talking this way. >> reporter: trump's team unwavering. instead questioning the harshness of president obama's recent sanctions against

russia. closing two diplomatic retreats and evicting dozens of russian diplomats. spicer now suggesting that was politically motivated despite some fellow republicans saying the punishment doesn't go far enough. >> we will be working for much tougher sanctions against russia. >> reporter: now, all of this as we learned the russians may have also targeted the power grid in vermont. now, malware linked to russian hackers was found in overt weekend but right now there is no evidence the hackers succeeded. that is the very late from the here live in new york, i'm elizabeth hur for channel6 "action news." rick. >> all right, elizabeth thank you for that report. in iraq a suicide bomber blew up his explosives ladened vehicle today in a bustling market area in baghdad. at least 36 people were killed. the attack happened just hours after the arrival of french president hollande. authorities say the bomber driving the pickup truck attacked an outdoor fruit and vegetable market day laborers an police check point.

no group has claimed responsibility for the attack but it had all the hall marks of isis which has staged similar attack in the past. in the northern state of amazonas brazil at least 60 inmates were killed in a prison riot. two of the biggest gangs in brazil began fighting last year and they believe that's what caused the incident. dozens of inmates escaped and 12 prison guards were taken hostage. none were hurt during negotiations. the riot was the deadliest in brazil's prison system since 1992. israeli police visited the jerusalem home of prime minister benjamin netanyahu tonight to question him about corruption allegations. netanyahu has denied what he calls baseless reports that he received gifts and favors from two businessmen in israel and abroad. israeli television first reported the allegations and they claim that netanyahu's family members are also involved. police were not commenting on the investigation tonight. >> beginning tomorrow dylann

roof will try to convince a south carolina jury that found him guilty of murder to spare his life. today a federal judge conducted a closed hearing on roof's competency. roof shot and killed nine people during a bible study at a black church in 2015. well, he has opted to act as his own attorney during the death penalty phase. well, tonight of the penalty phase. today the judge ruled that roof cannot approach witnesses or the jury. he also could receive life in prison without parole or the death penalty if found guilty. what's still not clear what caused two flense collide mid fair a dallas texas suburb on new year's eve. a retired air force lieutenant colonel his 18-year-old son and another person were killed when witnesses say one plane hit the other plane's tail. the crash sent debris raining down onto the road below and onto a shopping center parking lot. >> we heard a loud crashing bang and the two planes

basically -- one of them came pretty much straight down. the other one had a little control but he was coming dow down. there was no stopping it. the ntsb is investigating the crash. both pilots were flying under visual flight rules meaning neither had to be in contact with air traffic control. world news tonight with david muir will have much more on the deadly midair collision in texas as well as donald trump's transition into the white house. you can watch that following "action news" at 6:00. >> back here at home philadelphia firefighters made quick work of a fast moving blaze in the city's kensington section. this was the scene just afternoon time along the 3400 block of e street near tioga. crews found heavy fire coming from a rear bedroom and put out the flames in matter of minutes. no one inside the home was hurt. members of the red cross rushed to the scene to help out the residents. two thieves busted through a drive through window at an east oak lane dunkin' donuts on new year's eve and it was all captured on surveillance video right here. happened inside the store on

the 6200 block of north front street. once inside the suspects took three cash drawers filled with money crawled back through the drive through window and took off. >> well, police chase in wilmington delaware came to an end after the suv they were pursuing slammed into another vehicle. officers were attempting to pull over a stolen jeep cherokee around 11 o'clock last night when the driver they say took off. the jeep collided head on with another suv at the intersection of 14th and kelp street. the driver of the jeep and three people in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital. authorities have not released details about criminal charges stemming from the crash or the case. also from our delaware news room tonight, dover detectives have charged these two people. antoine mcdonald and alexis williams with two counts of armed robbery. authorities say they along with raheem jackson who is still wanted by police robbed two groups of people within the span of 12 hours yesterday.

>> on this second day of the new year fargo north dakota may be wishing it was still 2016. thanks to a winter storm that has crippled the area. the first wave of snow actually arrived yesterday and is still falling. there is widespread travel alerts throughout parts of north dakota because of the blowing and drifting snowfall there has affected visibility. most of the main roads in fargo have been shut down as work crews have decided to wait until the snow ends to finish plowing. that could be midweek. boy, oh, boy. back here now let's take a live look at a snowy spring mountain through our sky6 cameras. a couple of folks on the slopes there. is that adam?
