body of a missing marine in new jersey, where his body was found and how the weather impacted the search. days before donald trump enters the white house there's new allegations connecting his campaign with russia. those stories and more in just a moment, but first have you heard snow is on the the way to parts of the area. chris sowers tracking the accuweather forecast. a wee bit of snow. >> reporter: nothing close to what we saw last week. it's a nuisance event. let's get you outside. as a matter of fact some locations are picking up a little bit of sunshine this morning. there's the you view overlooking the commodore barry bridge. if you're in south jersey and delaware you're seeing glimpse of sun this morning. if you're west of the city, you'll see the clouds lower and thicken. a few flakes coming down. flip it over to storm tracker 6 live, as we set it in motion, that's it, that's your storm, that's a small minor event, i don't want to call it a storm, it's a weak area of low pressure

running along the mason dixon line, light snow starting to break out. reading flakes flying at this point. far western portions of lancaster and berks county. there's the i-78 corridor to the north. light snow flying. the pennsylvania turnpike running through lancaster county seeing flakes at this time. temperatures are cold enough, all this initially will stick. all these numbers will climb as the day wears on. 26 in pottstown. 30 in coatsville. 29 in oxford. saint davids, 29. quakertown, 26. center city right around 32 or 33, but look at what's going on to the southeast. a lot of locations are starting to climb through the 30s. 32 in woodbine. the villas, 32 degrees. 33 in smyrna. surf city, 36. atlantic city, 33 degrees. that's an area that's going to get sleet and rain. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, expect light

shots in the incident. investigators say a dispute spilled out of a bar on the 2800 block of ridge avenue. that's when the argument took a violent turn. >> private security guards on location, they heard gunshots, and they saw a person firing and they returned fire, three security guards total returned fire. it was a total of 19 shots fired by security guards. >> police say one man shot repeatedly was found with a gun. three other bullet shell casings came from his weapon according to police. a woman was shot in the back, both are in critical condition at temple university hospital. another man's head was grazed by a bullet. police say he is not cooperating with them as they sort out exactly what happened there. a driver did not survive this accident last night in cumberland county, new jersey, a lincoln town car slammed into a pole along east broad street in

bridgeton. state police expected to release more information about the incident tomorrow. this morning there's a sense of closure for a family waiting to learn what happened to a former marine who disappeared weeks ago. sadly his body was discovered in a camden county lake. now police are trying to figure out what happened to him. dann cuellar with that story. >> reporter: it was back on the night of december 2, 29-year-old lance james of clementon new jersey went missing. area search-and-rescue teams have been scouring the area looking for him, to no avail. they were not giving up. >> we try to to be very persist when we get involved in a case. >> reporter: lance did two tours of duty in the middle east, when he returned he suffered ptsd. authorities say he had gotten into a fight at the heightaway tavern in -- hideaway tavern in clementon. he got kicked out and walked

home. a camera across the him, but then he disappeared. search teams look at the bottom lake. >> there were other bodies of around, and ice on the lakes, that limited our availability to the water. >> reporter: they went back on saturday with snowy conditions and the help of 15 marines, but nothing. came the warmer weather of the last couple of days they decided to go back to bottom lake, the ice melted. >> several movements after that, we made the discovery. >> reporter: what was it that drove you to come back. >> being able to bring that closure to that family, so they can go to sleep at night. >> reporter: the search was fueled that much more by the fact that lance james served overseas, the circumstances surrounding his death remain unknown. an autopsy is scheduled for later today. at the camden county prosecutor's office, dann cuellar channel 6 "action news."

>> the city of chicago is pledging to revamp it's police department after a scathing report from the justice department. that i don't think -- yearlong investigation found the department has a pattern of using excessive force an violated the constitutional rights of residents for year. it includes improved transparency and better training and accountability for officers. the investigation followed the killing of laquan mcdonald a black teenager shot 16 times by a white officer. philadelphia police department has made substantial efforts to implement changes in the use of deadly force. the justice department praised the city for it's review recommending 91 changes for improvement. time, 9:06 a.m. days from now, donald trump moves into the white house, as he plans that transition there

are number of new developments concerning russia. top senators investigating possible contact between trump campaign and russia. abc's gloria rivera is covering it from washington. >> reporter: this morning the republican led senate intelligence committee launching an investigation into the russia and donald trump's presidential campaign. the probe beginning 6 days before trump takes office. as new details emerge about michael flynn's contact with the russian government. flynn seen seated next to vladimir putin during a dinner for the russian tv station back in 2015. flynn texted with the russian ambassador on christmas day four days later they spoke by phone the same day obama administration excelled 35 russian diplomats.

sean spicer said the russian ambassador invited trump to participate in peace talks. >> the national security advisor has his own relationship with the russian government was in touch with the russian ambassador with the united states. >> reporter: it is confirmed that the ambassador will be attacked -- attending the inauguration. meanwhile, james comey taking heat from democrats saying he hadn't done enough to investigate trump as alleged russian ties. >> all i can tell you the fbi director has no credibility that's it. >> reporter: comey has been criticized for speaking publicly about the hillary clinton e-mail investigation days before the november election while staying silent about any inquiries into trump. >> we never confirm or deny. >> the irony of you making that

it is 9:12, 33 degrees, temple camera right here, giving you a lovely shot of the city. we're seconds away from meteorologist chris sowers updating on the forecast. snow and sleet on the way. speaking of chris, he's right here. what's going on buddy? >> reporter: a little bit of light snow and sleet. not a big deal at all. as a matter of fact the roads will be mainly wet today. not like what we dealt with last weekend. all of a sudden we get into the 50s next week. we'll talk about that in just a moment. our temple university camera, you can see dilworth park, everybody going about their business be snow has not begun falling just yet. it will be falling shortly. as we flip it over to the radar, some locations in our viewing area are seeing it. we'll make a zoom into the far western suburbs, western berks and lancaster counties, light,

but steady snow flying on route 422. the i-78 corridor getting into the lehigh valley. it's not snowing in allentown, but probably in the hour you'll see the first flakes there. a little bit farther to the south, there's lancaster county, same thing, flurries or snow shower being reported at this hour. temperatures a far cry from the mid 60s, they are cold enough at the present time. all the numbers will warm later this afternoon. 26 in pottstown. 31 in coatsville. 30 in saint davids. 31 in chester. 33 in center city. a lot of locations south and east are above freezing, as well. smyrna and dover, 34. the villas, 38. woodbine, 48 degrees, surf city, 36. we have a huge area of high pressure an arctic high racing across the northern tier states, the air is cold enough to seek

its way south into the delaware and the lehigh valleys. this ribbon of moisture is swinging through. the timing is just right to get light snow in here later this afternoon. future tracker 6, this model is having a difficult time. it's snowing out here, the model is not showing it. by lunchtime you'll see snow flying out through here across the western suburbs in the city of philadelphia. even though the modeling is not picking it up. in the first part of the afternoon, we'll see light snow overspread the area. perhaps steadier before a brief time. light, but steady for interior sections of south jersey and southeastern portions of pennsylvania. that is rain for cumberland and sussex and kent county. it will end 7 to 9:00 p.m. it's a quick-moving storm. minor accumulations are expected

speaking of accumulations it's a general coating to an inch of snow. a lot of main roads are wet with the system. as we get closer to sunset and temperatures start dropping we'll see the icy patches developing. i know it's a small event, later this evening, don't let your guard down, there could be icy patches out there. taking a quick look at the forecast modeling. this is the city of philadelphia. three out of the four barely have a half inch of snow with the system. this model is more bullish, i would rather take the three and average amount that's a good number, half inch to an inch in philadelphia. for today, afternoon snow and sleet. a mixture of sleet and rain to the south. 37 degrees is the forecasted high. again if you're looking to do errands today and you don't like driving in the snow and sleet. it's a better bet to do it early. by afternoon that's when the snow begins. 33 and cloudy in the city. 34 by 11:00, cloudy, from

lunchtime on that's when the snow breakdown. overnight tonight, light snow, otherwise partly cloudy, icy pamps -- patches developing. tomorrow, 44 degrees, sunny, martin luther king, 45 degrees, look for a combination of sun and clouds. tuesday starts a string of what could be 6 or 7 straight days in the 50s, 52 tuesday, 56 wednesday, thursday and friday, 52 and 53. tuesday and wednesday could be wet. 50 for january is not that bad. >> 6 or 7 days. >> reporter: it could be 5 to 7 straight. a book was returned to a san francisco public library after a century it was checked out. the title of the book is 40 minutes late. when it comes to the due date it is 100 years late. the woman checked the book out when she was 83 years old. she intended to return it to the

library, but she died before she got a chance to do it. that book was unnoticed until her great grandchildren found it decades later. the library is not making her pay the late fee.

rittenhouse square. details on why people are not loving the changes. a person needed to be rescue from a crash involving a big rig in delaware. plus an emotional reunion 18 years in the making. how a baby who went missing from the hospital is reunited with her mother. temperatures dip down and we could see snow later on. chris sowers has the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. >> reporter: what did you call it earlier? a wee bit of snow expected this afternoon actually mixed with sleet, as well. storm tracker 6 live set in motion, what's going on, a couple of days we were in the mid 60s close to record territory. now what's happening we have an arctic high racing on by to the north. it's in this area here and running the u.s./canadian border. the colder air has dropped just far enough south it looks like this, so this precipitation will start out as snow and sleet. the air is cold enough.

as the high pulls away the air will lift to the north again and it will change over to rain in kent and sussex county in delaware and cape may and cumberland county in south jersey. that's what we're looking at this afternoon. national weather service issued a winter weather add vitaminsry vitaminsry -- advisory for lancaster and chester counties. they are expecting a brief period of freezing rain which could glaze things over before ending. there could freezing rain out here. everybody look for a period of snow and sleet. the snow is starting now across the far western suburbs. it will develop across the entire viewing area, it will mix with sleet at times in the city of philadelphia, all areas south and east. as a matter of fact, the farther south you go, the temperatures will warm up in the mid to upper 30s and snow and sleet may change over to rain all the precipitation begins to end west to east between 6 and 9:00 p.m.

injuries. tractor-trailer drivers in both wrecks are okay. a homeowner was overcome by sunoco during a fire in burlington county, new jersey. flames damaged most of the home on west second street in approximately -- pal palmyra ard midnight. the person was treated for smoke. there's new rules concerning rittenhouse square and the park walls, the change is not sitting well with everyone. >> we saw the sign, there's no one in the park. >> reporter: one rogue wall sitter is all we found at the popular hangout in rittenhouse square where historic lime stone walls are off limits. >> it's not fair to everybody who wants to come out and sit and relax and enjoy themselves. >> it's not nice. i think it's ciefer -- kind of depressing.

philly to be open for business. >> reporter: mayor kenny said the rules were implemented to protect the walls. protests are planned for next week. jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> happening right now police in conveyer county are searching -- delaware county are searching for the suspect who shot and killed a man in chester. this happened on the 3200 block of west third street around 9:00. no word about a motive. the search will continue for a missing clam fisherman in ocean county. the boat was found in the tuckerton bay off the coast of little egg harbor. but the 45-year-old man was nowhere to be found. we're learning new information about a woman charged in bucks county with killing her adopted daughter. the victim was 14-year-old grace packer. sara packer and her ex-husband david took in 30 foster kids between 2000 and 2010. he served time in prison for

molesting grace and a disabled teen. sara packer and her boyfriend jacob sullivan are a waiting a hearing on raping and murdering grace earlier this year. a judge overturned the ruling that the president of cooper health system killed his death. the manner of death has been changed from suicide to undetermined. they were found back in 2014. investigators called it murder suicide. but the couple's four sons believe it was a double murder. the family wants the investigation to be reopened. 9:36 we're following a remarkable story coming from south carolina. a baby allegedly snatched from a hospital 18 years ago has been found alive. the child is a teenager and the woman who raised her is in jail. eva pilgrim has an update on this emotional story.

>> reporter: an extremely emotional moment inside a south carolina courtroom as the teenage girl is evaluated from the only mother she has ever known. this morning a family to be reunited 18 years after a baby was kidnapped from a florida hospital. >> i've been praying for this day. >> 18 years, i can't wait no longer. >> reporter: that baby now a teenager and this morning the woman who abducted her being held without bond in a south carolina jail where an anonymous tip led cons to an 18-year-old girl. >> in south carolina we found an 18-year-old young woman with the same date of birth, but a different name. fraudulent documents were used to establishment her identity. >> reporter: the case was featured on america's most wanted. police launched an all-out search for the infant last seen

in baby diapers wrapped in a pink and blue blanket only 8 hours old when she was snatched from the hospital. the baby taken from the arms of her mother by a police serious woman telling she was a nurse, telling the nursing staff she was pa friend of the mother. a grandmother's hunch confirmed. police say 51-year-old gloria william changed her name and raised her as her own. the teen identified herself as williams. openly sobbing seeing the woman accused of snatching her from her biologic biological mother is behind bars. >> that was eva pilgrim with that report. an attorney for the man convicted for his role in the

sniper shootings back in 2002, is asking for his life sentence be thrown out saying it was unconstitutional because malvo was a juvenile when it was handed down. he was 17 when he was convicted in maryland and virginia in connection with the sniper shooting that killed ten. last week the court determined life sentences were unconstitutional for juveniles. bill morey pictured on the lester opened surf side pier in wildwood. i was a live long resident of the wildwood, he leaves behind his wife and four children and seven grandchildren. there's much more to come on "action news," saturday morning at 9:00 including "shelter me rescue of the week."

a dramatic video when a truck runs a plow up the highway sending the plow truck tumbling 300 feet to the ground. semi track was attempting to pass the snowplow when it got too close and clipped the plow. the driver of the plow expected to survive. highway workers say the hope is that this incident can be used as a warning for other drivers to not pass the snowplows an let them do their jobs. we talk about this every time when it's snowing. >> reporter: i don't come anywhere close, and many people do. >> no plowing today. >> reporter: no, mainly accumulation on picnic tables and tops of cars. it's a minor event. it's not a big deal, nothing close to what we saw last weekend. there's the live shot looking back toward the center city

skyline there. all is quiet this saturday morning, you see the cloud cover. we have the clouds lowering and thickening and in some areas producing light snow. here's double scan live we'll make a couple of zooms, the first one down to the south where temperatures are above freezing at this point now. precipitation is falling as a mixture of sleet and rain. as you look toward the left-hand side of the screen you see a blob of blue from chester town to edge wood. most of that is raining. it's raining in eastern portions of kent county, as well. the farther north you go, the temperatures are colder. if you're traveling along route 222 reading to hamburg it's snowing with another band off to the west. all this will continue to fill in as we get into the late morning hours and the first part of the afternoon. you can see the difference, now, remember, last weekend whed the snow -- when wed the snow, testers were in the upper teens.

we're barely above freezing in philadelphia. this is nothing close to the same kind of snow we saw last week. this was the heavy wet snow, but it won't be sticking to sidewalks and streets. wilmington, 33. cape may, 34. dover, 33. reading, 30 degrees, you can see how small a system it is. it's a very small, weak wave of low pressure running west to east across the mid atlantic states this morning into the afternoon. snow to the north, mix in the middle, rain from the south from washington, d.c. to richmond. lunchtime, even though the modeling is not showing it, i think all this area here will be seeing light snow at that point. if you're not seeing it by then, it will be snowing by 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., the whole area begins to fill in. every passing model run, the model want to lifter that warm air -- lift that warm air farther to the north. look at the snow/rain line, it's

lifting, reinforcing the track saying this is not a big deal. temperatures are borderline at best to see snow in your neighborhood. 9:00 p.m., it's raining across south jersey, according to the latest update on the computer modeling. this is light snow left over to the north. all this rushes out to sea here, let's say between 6:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m. overnight tonight, the skies go mainly clear, that's where there could problems, once the sky goes clear, the numbers drop well below freezing. wet roads and sidewalks and things like that could glaze over. black ice could be an issue, icy patches west of philadelphia, as well. coating to an inch, most of the main roots during the day are wet. 2:00 p.m., the model has us near 40, i think it's a little bit too warm. you get the idea it's above freezing. overnight tonight, the temperature drop, we get into tomorrow morning, we're below
