sidewalk next to his cab with more than 12 gunshot wound. he is hospitalized tonight this critical condition. "action news" reporter jeanett e reyes is live at penn presbyterian hospital with the very latest, jeanette? >> reporter: well, walter that cabdriver is fighting for his life right now at the hospital we spoke with several neighbors who described a chilling detail the moment that this man was shot more than a dozen times, and his cries for help afterward. >> he was hearing about three shots. >> reporter: 2:00 in the morning residents on the 800 block of brooklyn street in west philadelphia were sound a street when a barrage of gunshots shattered the late night quiet. >> i heard like five shots, it was pow, p theow, and then, po w. >> reporter: but before shots were fired a cab company tells philadelphia police that a driver had an altercation with a ride shore was giving him a hard time. refused to give him a ride. thirty minutes later more than a dozen shots were fired, and

terrified neighbors looked out of their windows and awe that cabdriver lying on the ground. >> hollering and screaming. he was screaming that he had got shot. he was screaming. the it was heart wrenching. >> reporter: sixteenth district officers responded to a call of a person with the gun and shots fired. they arrived to find the 56 year-old man unresponsive, and suffering from gunshot wounds. his taxi was found still running nearby. victim was rushed to penn presbyterian in critical condition. neighbors were left shaken, and in shock. >> it is just unbelievable. >> reporter: for this grand mother who has seen a lot in the the 50 years she has lived here she says it is not an image or a sound thaw can easily forget. >> it is really been bothering me. it has. because the moans and the growns, you know, are like haunting me. >> reporter: and this man is listed again as being in critical condition. he was in surgery earlier today, and as for the suspect

police really haven't released or don't have a very detailed description of the hand, but we're told he drove away in a black car, anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the police. reporting live from university city, jeanette reyes for channel six "action news". >> thank you. a 16 year-old was shot and killed this afternoon in west philadelphia it happened at about 1:00 o'clock along 200 block of north 52nd street. that is where they found the stein shot once in the head. he was rushed to chop where he died. police are now searching for the gun man at this hour. police in west philadelphia are also investigating a shooting, this one deadly that occurred this afternoon, officers responded to the 5700 block of spruce street the at about 2:00 o'clock. they found a 27 year-old man who had been shot six times. the victim was taken to penn presbyterian where he was pronounced dead. no arrests in this case either shooting this afternoon in wilmington, ended with a man critically injured. violence happened on the 2200 block of north church street right around 3:30.

the man who suffered a single gunshot wound has been rushed to christiana hospital and no arrests have been made. and some neighbors in kensington have gone a week now without any gas or water, after a huge sinkhole opened up on their street. but, relief could be on the way. "action news" reporter bob brooks explains. >> reporter: it is sunday morning in the 2300 block of boston street in kensington, and it is getting a make over. the workers were shoveling, jackhammers, you name it, make over is much needed. one residents just can't wait for to be finished. for a week many here of had no water, no gas. it was all shut down after the road opened up in a sinkhole, so big formed, that it swallowed two cars. >> the the city sent me like a form, a claims form to fill out. >> reporter: elizabeth banks was one of the people who saw her car sucked in, she said she's still working with the city to get that straightened out and right now she does not like what she is being told. >> they think if they pay my insurance deductible that

instead of a day off for dozens of local restaurant workers. employees and their families from 18 chick-fil-a restaurant in south and central new jersey spent today assembling care packages for u.s. troops overseas. big boxes are heading to troops serving middle east, team also presented a check for $42,000, to operation yellow ribbon which sends supplies and goodies to troops they organized welcome home ceremonies. eleven high school the athletes from south jersey were honored today for setting good examples on and off the feel. they received 2016 a few good men award for their leadership and community service. local high school coaches teamed up with the perfecting church, to give the students guidance, all throughout the year, and special honors at the end. annual philadelphia home show continues today right there at the pennsylvania convention center, hundreds of vendors were on hand offering products, and tips for homeowners looking to make a few upgrade. they will interactive exhibits and diy workshops hosted by local and decoration experts. philadelphia home she
