a bow on the final pieces. the additional road closures and barricades were added as of today. and hundreds of thousands are expected to pack in for the swearing in, we met tina and barry a father and daughter from california that were able to secure the tickets to be up closer to the capitol steps. this is part of his bucket list and birthday gift. >> connected the representative back in november and found out i got the tickets after his birthday in december. it was awesome it all worked out. >> i am overwhelmed to be here. and the other place was pearl harbor, and i got to see that, and during this time, it's amazing. absolutely amazing. >> the munoz family proud trump supporters and proud hispanics and there is a move not

the man was acting erratically and the police had to use a stun gun and batons to subdue him. >> reporter: rick, police say this is under investigation, they say that initially their officers were responding to reports of a person screaming. just before 5:00 a.m. police say they arrived where a man was on top of his truck screaming and jumping up and down and the driver reached into the driver's side of the police car and grabbed the officer's neck, she called for backup and used the police issued baton and another officer tried using the stun gun but the prongs of the stun gun never penetrated the man's skin and when they tried to arrest him he was unresponsive and they thought he was suffering from a

drug overdose. they used naloxone. he was pronounced dead at the hospital. his vehicle remains at the scene and waiting for a police vehicle to toe it away, and it remains under investigation, no officers were injured. annie mccormick, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. the delaware state fire marshall says that last night's fire in newcastle was set on purpose. it started at 11:30 last night at the newcastle apartments. and someone started the fire in one townhouse and that spread to two more nearby. the damage is estimated at $300,000. 6 abc is teaming up with the philadelphia fire department to raise awareness about fire safety. the 25th year for 6 abc save a

life an important effort kicks off now at a luncheon at the philadelphia fire academy and that is where katherine scott is standing by with more. >> reporter: hi rick, the program and luncheon are underway now, as luck would have it karen rogers is up at is the podium now talking about fire safety initiatives. the key here in fire safety and prevention. once again 6 abc teamed up with firefighters to help save lives. this morning 200 fire departments were picking up precious cargo, 10,000 smoke alarms, part of 6 abc save a life. >> the firefighters will then distribute them to families and businesses in their own communities. >> we can't prevent all fires, we work hard to do that and smoke alarms are critical and it gives residents a chance to get out and gives you the early

stormtracker 6 live double scan showing us we are dry and as we look at the outdoors, we started out in the 40s and right now clouds obscuring the sun a little bit at least temporarily, and we'll break into a clouds and sun mix before the day is over and some of you are still seeing that. pretty comfortable and not much wind. notice it's a rock steady camera shot there. no wind bouncing the camera around. 48 degrees and winds from the northwest at 10 miles per hour. they won't go much higher than that. 46 in reading and 48 in philadelphia and 50 in wilmington and millville, new jersey we hit the 50 degree mark. not too bad overall. the clouds are thicker and we have breaks out to the west and south and we hope that we'll get some of that sunshine cutting back in between the clouds later today. lehigh valley forecast a bit

cool. 49 degrees. not very windy and pretty nice overall. and down the shore calling it partly sunny and some spots farther down the coast full sunshine right now. overall back and forth and not much wind at the beach and 51 is the high. and philadelphia a high of 54 that is well above average, if you were headed outside today and felt it was chilly, it doesn't feel like mid-january, you are correct. the average high is 40 degrees we'll blow past that by quite a bit. overnight 36 degrees for a low and tomorrow when you step outside it will be colder than it was this morning. we started in the mid-40s this morning and mid-30s will feel chillier and once again light wind and i probably will not be on the air tomorrow. and then tomorrow it's a little cooler because we have a front coming at us and creating more clouds high of just 48 and in the afternoon some showers and
