dover, 3 miles, as well. you get the idea this is similar to what we saw yesterday. lots of clouds out here, it's damp, we're seeing a little bit of patchy mist and areas of fog. satellite and radar, you can clearly sigh it's the entire mid atlantic and the northeast, the clouds continue to increase in the advance of the nor'easter that will be heading up the eastern seaboard tomorrow. for the remainder of the afternoon, mostly cloudy, areas of fog and drizzle, highs around 52 degrees. taking a closer look at the nor'easter. right now if you look toward the left-hand side of the screen. you see a counter clockwise swirl that's the actual center of low pressure itself. that will travel east, i put arrows on here all the moisture to the south will be heading into our neck of the woods, overnight tonight and into tomorrow. when i come back in just a few minutes, we'll take a look at future tracker 6, i'll time out all thetation and the

strong gusty winds. storm tracker 6 live is your source for weather that moves into the delaware valley today. there you will find double scan radar, 6abc.com/weather. a man is arrested and a waiting charges in connection with the result of a transgendered woman in center city. the suspect has been taken into custody this morning. he has been identified as a 250-year-old homeless man. officials say they found him in the frankford terminal wearing the same clothes during the incident. the attack happened near city hall the video shows the suspect striking the victim shouting transphobic and homophobic slurs. turnpike connector bridge has been shut down indefinitely after suffering a structural

"action news" reporter, bob brooks joins us from bristol township, bucks county with more on the closure and how long the closure will last. bob, what can you tell us? >> reporter: gray, something people don't like to see or hear about, that's the bridge behind me. you'll not see any traffic going across it right now. it is shut down for the foreseeable future something that will calls problem for the morning work commute tomorrow. turnpike officials say the first step is to diagnose what's going on with the delaware river turnpike bridge that connects bristol bucks county to burlington township. that will take two full weeks alone. those who use the bridge on a daily basis is unacceptable. >> it's somebody's job to know that the bridge is going that way, it doesn't just happen. for it to be completely shut down is an awful inconvenience

woman answered a knock at the door in the 5100 block of hazel avenue before 7:00 p.m. it came from a man suffering a gunshot wound. the man said a woman shot him. he was taken to penn presbyterian and underwent surgery and was listed in critical condition. house and senate republicans are coming to philadelphia for the annual gop retreat thursday january 26th. british prime minister teresa may will attend the event. she willing the first serving state -- head of state to address the retreat. donald trump used his first full day in office to pay visit to the cia headquarters to honor those killed in the line of duty. >> he took the opportunity to not only praise the intelligence community and slam the media for coverage of the inauguration. mary bruce is at the white house

himself. >> that was abc's mary bruce with the report. president trump met with members of the cia hundreds of thousands of women marched in washington, d.c. and around the world. today for the first time president trump acknowledged the marchs in the tweet, watched protest yesterday, but was under the impression we had an election, why didn't these people hurt, celebs hurt cause badly. peaceful protests are a hallmark of our democracy, although i don't always agree i acknowledged the right of people to march to voice their views. this was the scene in washington, d.c. as hundreds of thousands of women turned out in the nation's capitol to tell mr. trump they will not let the agenda go unchallenged. the turnout was so big organizers scrapped plans for a formal march to the white house.

flash flooding in arizona caused close calls for people trapped in surging waters. firefighters in cave creek rescued a half dozen people caught in their cars. there were no injuries reported. the state got a break from the rain, but a new storm is moving into the area today. >> we're expecting rain, but more importantly lots of winds tomorrow, right? >> reporter: that's the big issue with the storm, a general one to two inches of rain, but wind gusts 50 to 60 miles per hour down the shore. those are tropical storm force winds they can create damage. i'll go over that in just a minute. we get you outside, we're looking live at the philadelphia international airport. that view looks better than this morning. we're starting to see some of the fog lift a little bit here and the visibility is improving.

let's flip it over to the radars, we have patching drizzle showing up across interior sections of south jersey. they are seeing the fog to the west, the drizzle to the east, in other locations you're seeing a combination of two, making for a miserable sunday across the delaware and the lehigh valleys. on a brighter note, temperatures are mild. 49 degrees in philadelphia. 49 in millville. 50 in atlantic city. 45 in allentown. close to 50 degrees in dover and wilmington. all right, here's double scan live, we set it in motion for you, so, the center of the storm is over little rock arkansas. that becomes the nor'easter overnight into tomorrow. in the meantime, the counter clockwise circulation will draw all this rain to the north. there's a flood advice have i for northern georgia, a tornado watch, look at the heavy thunderstorms battering the panhandle of florida, it's a mess, a nightmare down there.

the rains will push in our neck of the woods. the severe weather part of the storm will stay to the south, we won't have to deal with anything like that. there could be a rumble or two of thunder tomorrow afternoon, nothing severe. future tracker, showing later this afternoon, it's all clouds and drizzle, maybe an isolated shower, the rain begins to pick up in coverage and intensity overnight tonight especially tomorrow morning, when this is n the wind speeds peak, as well. look at the yellows and oranges. the red pop up monday afternoon, that signaling there could thunderstorms thrown in there. here's the leftover of the storm as it continues to run up the eastern seaboard. as far as the wind is concern, tomorrow morning, most of the region, 40 to 50 miles per hour. the jersey shore, 50 to 60 miles per hour. the national weather service has issued a wind advisory for the

i-95 corridor for 450 to 50-mile an hour gusts and they actually issued a high wind warning for the jersey shore for 50 to 60-mile an hour gusts. it is win that area there -- within that area there we could see the potential of damaging winds. we could see trees down down the shore, power outages, it will make for difficult traveling conditions. not only will the rain coming down at a good clip, all the winds will push the debris everywhere. there will be minor coastal flooding, as well. the jersey takes the brunt of the storm. for the remainder of the afternoon, fog and drizzle, 52 degrees. overnight tonight, rain and drizzle developing after midnight. 40 degrees outlying suburbs, 43 for center city. tomorrow, expect windswept rain, 44 degrees, maybe a rumble or they two of thunder.

march in philadelphia more than doubled the predicted crowd size. officials expected 20,000 participants. the mayor's office said 50,000 people turned out for the women's march. mayor kenny kicked off the rally, calling for equality and unit. marchers held signs chanting as they marked down the benjamin franklin parkway. police say it was a peaceful protest. trump is expected to witness the swearing in of several high level staffers to the administration. he is holding a reception for law enforcement officers and first responders who helped with the inauguration. senate committees are expected to vote on the cabinet nominees. the voting is expected is to start tomorrow with the secretary of state rex tillerson. a jet blue flight from new jersey to the dominican republic after a passenger found a written bomb threat on the plane. the flight had taken off

yesterday afternoon, it was in the air when the note was discovered. the flight was diverted to fort lauderdale, florida out of an abundance of caution. three hours later it was cleared and no device was found and no arrests reported. police are investigating a deadly shooting outside a beauty salon. the action cam was on the scene in west oak lane section. police were called at 12:30 a.m. a man in his 20s was found lying on outside the beauty salon. he was dead from a gunshot to the face. fire investigators in delaware county ruled the fire that claimed the life of two brothers accidentally. 49-year-old stephen denby and his 45-year-old brother sherman was killed when they were trapped in the house during a fire. firefighters were called to the home at noon, investigators believe the fire started in the

electrical system of a freezer in the kitchen. one person is dead after a shooting in new jersey, a man in his late 20s was shot on broad street in burlington, late last night. police rushed the man to the hospital where he died of his injuries. police have no systems. police search for the suspect in a violent home invasion, we told you about this story yesterday morning on "action news," an intruder got into a home on east chestnut avenue in the middle of the night. he woke up the sleeping couple inside the bedroom and force the the woman to perform a sex act at gun point. neighbors are stunned. >> this is something you read in a gross book you buy at the airport. it's really frightening. >> police say at one point the intruder set down the gun and that little when the wife -- and that's when the wife grabbed it

4 tornado a couple of years ago. more destruction, at william kerry university, buildings are crushed, cars are overturned, the roof of the lecture hall collapsed. the school is now closed until further notice. >> they need to know that help is on the way. >> reporter: the mayor said that he and his wife were forced out of their home a year back four years ago when the ef-4 tornado struck, he said while a trailer is an affordable housing option, it's not an adequate shelter. he is asking people to go to the red cross shelter. abc news. >> we're looking for a nor'easter tomorrow. >> reporter: a snow-less nor'easter. that will makes you happy. for the first time today we can see the commodore barry bridge.

the fog is starting to lift ainchts now -- a little bit now, visibility is slowly improving. you go to the northwest, they are stuck in the pea soup. we have patchy drizzle starting to develop across the interior sections of south jersey. we'll make a zoom into gloucester and camden counties. there's glassboro and williams town area they are picking up mist and drizzle. this will continue on and off for several hours until the main batch of moisture gets in here overnight tonight. that will arrive overnight tonight and into monday. there's the center of the storm right there. this will make the trip all the away across the country like this. once it hits the appalachians it comes charging up are the eastern seaboard. because the counter clockwise winds around the low it will pull the moisture up the coast. speaking of the tornados,

mississippi, alabama, look at the violent weather, thunderstorms watches that are up, tornado watches in effect all that moisture is lifting to the north. fortunately by the time it gets here, it will be a smidgen of its former self. it will be weak compared to what they are dealing with down there. periods of drizzle and fog through the late evening hours. overnight tonight, here comes the rain, it's periods of rain, on and off rain through the day tomorrow, some of it will be heavy at times always indicated by the yellows and oranges, we get into the heavy rain during the afternoon hours, look at the red starting to pop. that would indicate the strong powerful winds and the torrential downpours, this continues through tuesday morning. when all is said and done, some of the latest computer guidance is suggesting 2 to 3 inches down the jersey shore with the general one to two inches for the i-95 corridor and closer to

an inch for the far western suburbs. a storm closer to the coast will produce more rain. one farther out so sea will produce lessor amounts. one to two inches is a good call. the winds will be the issue tomorrow morning. we fast forward and stop the clock at 7:00 a.m., 50-mile an hour gusts across south jersey which will increase to 62 miles per hour by lunchtime. the strong gusty winds continue throughout the day and into the evening hours. when we start talking about winds gusting anywhere from 50 to 06 miles per hour that's in the range that produces damage here. here's a look at the wind scale. broken twigs you see those at 40 to 45. branches 56 to 65 miles per hour. trees down that's the zone for the jersey shore, 56 to 65 miles per hour there's going to be power outages a lot of power lines down, things like that. travel will be difficult down the jersey shore, most of the
