you the scene earlier this evening. -- >> yes, this group of protesters have been zigzags around center city and splittering off keeping police officers on their toes. the protest began at rittenhouse square with a rally and came here to the loews hotel. this is the second of two rallies today. this is the scene at thomas paine plaza earlier this morning and this afternoon as a few thousand protesters gathered once again to make their voices heard. chief among them is the possible repeal of obama care. people confined to wheelchairs, marched around city hall and made their way around the loews hotel. i am speaking with police all afternoon and this evening. police tell me these protesters

and it was a trying day in montgomery county. an enormous sinkhole hoped up and threatened to swallow up the street and everything on. a different story today. live at the scene is gray hall. >> reporter: well, jim it's clear that a lot of progress is made here and the hole is pretty much covered in and the water service is restored and what is not clear is what caused the ground to collapse. john has lived in this glen side neighborhood for over 30 years and has never seen anything like what he saw wednesday morning, the earth caved in and the large sinkhole formed just doors from his home. >> 30 to 35 feet deep that is enough to swallow the whole house. >> a day later it's a much different picture evidence that crews were working around the clock to fill in the hole. by mid-day thursday most of the massive crater is filled with cement and stone to stabilize

the area. there was a water main break and they condition confirm that it was the reason nor the ground collapsing. >> they are investigating the exact cause. >> i think we are all right but still scary. >> water service is restored to the 60 to 65 people that lost service and the two homes most impacted by the sinkhole are inhappenitiable and one was unoccupied and for sale. the sink hole was all covered in and even when it is it is the talk of the town for a while. >> i'm amazing that they got this thing filled inasmuch as they did. >> that was a gigantic hole. >> no injuries were reported and important to note all the homes impacted by the water main break must boil their water until at least saturday when aqua is expected to give the all clear. live in glen side, gray hall,

authorities in buck county rescued a worker that got stuck in a hole this afternoon. it happened at the excavation site on radcliffe street at 12:30, the 49-year-old worker was trapped for 30 min, the victim was taken to the hospital to be checked out. officials from toms river say it will take a week and thousands of truck loads of sand to stabilize the dunes in ortely beach. the dunes were all but obliterated in this week's for easter.

nora muchanic has that story. >> reporter: these are the first of up to 2,000 truck loads of sand being dumped in ortely beach that had 85% to 90% of its dunes destroyed on monday's nor'easter ate away the dune all the way back to the boardwalk leaving this section of toms river vulnerable to flooding. >> if we don't do this quickly and there is another storm, the next storm will be in the street i'm afraid. >> the township is bringing in sand to create a temporary dune a half mile long, it's needed because the entire beach front in ortely looks like this. >> i lost my house in sandy and now this again. they need to do something permanent about this, condition do this every year. >> it's a half million dollars to replace the sand and beach crossovers damaged in the storm. >> devastating for this to happen again in ortely. they were wiped out one before.
