slick spots. allentown, 27, philadelphia, 36. 43 in millville. more importantly we've lost the brutal winds that we've had over the last couple of days. we've had windchills in the single digits and teens the last couple of mornings. this is easier to handle. with the wind it feels maybe 2 or 3 degrees cooler than the actual air temperatures. satellite and radar you can see holes in the cloud deck out to the west. again, that will be good enough to give us a mixture of sun and clouds. clouds and some sun, mild 52. when i come back we're tracking wet weather tomorrow and big winds as we head into monday. i'll have the details in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. >> happening right now a viewing for lieutenant steven floyd is taking place on the campus of delaware state university. >> floyd was killed last week during the hostage siege at the vaughn correctional center in

smesh in -- smyrna. last week you may remember inmates took floyd and three others hostage, the siege ended a day later. floyd who was just 47 years old was the only death stemming from the intense standoff. the medal of valour was presented to his family and floyd was pro note moated from -- promoted from sergeant to lieutenant. the viewing will continue until noon, floyd's funeral will continue after. cumberland county prosecutor is investigating the shootings of a man, one bridgeton police officer shot in the direction of the man running from officers. the man died as a result. the preliminary investigation finds a weapon was found near where the man was taken into

custody. he has not been identified. >> a among man is fighting for his life this morning after being shot 6 times in philadelphia's olney section. at least one bullet hit him in the head in the 5700 block of north 15th street. police got the call around 2:30 a.m. the officers rushed the victim to einstein medical center where he underwent surgery. the shooter has not been caught. investigators are working to track down the driver who dragged a philadelphia police officer in west philadelphia overnight. police say a blue ford explorer hit a vehicle at 62nd and market and drove away. an officer spotted the suv and pulled it over a few blocks away when the officer approached the vehicle, the driver took off dragging the officer along with it for a short distance. the injured police officer was treated for scrapes and bruises at penn presbyterian. authorities found the explorer involved in the incident, but they are looking for the driver.

a lot of unanswered questions this morning about the murder of a woman in burlington county, allegedly at the hands of someone she knew, 53-year-old william gennett was accused of strangling shannon o'rourke inside her home. the neighbors thought he was friendly. >> we were hoping it was not him, but it will provide some closure. >> police say gennett used a cell phone app to stalk arourke, -- robber, o' rourke. donald trump is vowing to reinstate his controversial

this is way overdone. you'll see a quarter of an inch. north of allentown into the poconos those are the areas that see the ice. everybody else, like, 99% of the viewing air sees rain with the system. national weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for sleet and freezing rain for the poconos overnight tonight and after midnight, tomorrow, icy accumulations .1 to .24 of an inch. that storm implodes and we get the winds on monday. gusts anywhere from 45 to 55 miles per hour. there will be a winds advisory issued for most of the delaware and lehigh valleys. today, mild, 52 degrees is the forecasted high. in the afternoon look for a combination of sun and clouds. 3:00 p.m., 50. 5:00 p.m., back down to 49

multiple vehicle crash that sent a person to the hospital. those stories, plus, meteorologist chris sowers has the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, how should we plan for this? >> reporter: you'll need something heavier this morning. temperatures are chilly. later this afternoon it will feel like spring again the numbers shoot into the 50s. everybody west of that line you're below 32 degrees, there are slick spots out there, icy patches, areas of black ice be very, very careful on the walked and secondary roads. south and east, the numbers have skyrocketed. 42 in vineland, 42 in agenda beach. woodbine, 42. villas, 44. glassboro, checking in at 37 degrees. magic number is 32 you have to get above 32 to melt everything. we'll have no problems doing that this afternoon. satellite and radar, clouds in

over with mike pence. >> what i can confirm having spoken about it, those conversations occurred around the time that the united states took action to expel diplomats had nothing to do with the sanctions. >> this morning two people are recovering after several cars collided in south jersey. chopper 6 hd over the scene on route 130 at neck road in burlington township. four cars collided. look at this mess there, that was at 7:30 p.m. last night. one of the injured was flown to the hospital. no word on what led to the accident. a new jersey state trooper who shot a man defending his own property will not face any charges. 76-year-old gerald sykes was shot by a trooper inside his upper deerfield home back in july after a 911 call mistakenly

traced his address. sykes grabbed a gun believing it was intiewrdz, but it was -- intruders at the door, it was two state trooper. the trooper will not be charged because he felt he was in immediate danger. heads up to motorists, this morning work continues on the damaged market frankford el train, but it made enough progress that supplemental bus service is no longer needed. cracks were discovered in five dozen train cars. over the past week the transit agency increased the number of cars by 30% by reconfiguring connected el cars. uber and lyft are legal in the garden state. chris christie signed legislation that legalizeizes tr

that's what happened on the way to the hospital in gloucester county. new jersey correspondent, nora muchanic has the story. >> i jumped out of the car and within seconds her water broke. >> reporter: as a bartender ida is used to harmed -- handling delivers it's usually beer, but not her grandson son. wednesday her daughter began having crackses they got into the car and headed to the hospital in voorhees, but pulled over when the baby wouldn't wait. >> i saw his little head, i grabbed his head and helped the rest of him come out, he didn't cry at first, i wiped the inside of his mouth and i heard a little cry. my mom wrapped him up and handed him to me, by the time i got him into my arms the first police officer was pulling up.

>> so glad you stayed with us, 9:42, meteorologist chris sowers is not tracking any snow today. hi chris. >> reporter: let's get you outside, there's a good storm that will be clobbering new england this weekend, we'll see rain, no snow. there's the view on sky6 live hd philadelphia international airport. we'll be dealing with a lot of the gray skies, these are thin clouds where the sun shines through them at times. it's not a bad day today. we'll see a little bit of sun and milder temperatures. take a look, we're forecasting a high of 52 degrees ten degrees above the seasonal average of 43. low temperature dropped down to 32. we're off to a nice start, 40 across south jersey and delaware. philadelphia splitting the difference, 36. millville, cape may, 44. if we get any kind of sunshine today or at least an extended amount of sun this is what could potentially happen across the

you're seeing the fog. in the poconos we're switch it over freezing rain and sleet. if you're heading north to do skiing there will a lot of icy patches in the poconos and northern portions of the lehigh valley. we advance this along, you can see by 6:30 most of this is starting to clear out. it's a good snowstorm for new england. look at how close this was, we only missed this by maybe 100 miles or so. it will bomb out off the coast of new england. they saw two feet of snow with the storm that brought us 2 to 5 inches here. they will pick up another foot with this. we'll see the strong, gusty winds, as the storm ramps up, we'll see winds gusting anywhere from 45 to 55 miles per hour on the back ends of that storm as it suddenly explodes off the coast of maine. we'll not get snow, but we'll see strong gusty winds.
