steven floyd. floyd was killed more than a week ago when inmates took him and three other people hostage at the vaughn correctional center near smyrna. "action news" reporter trish hartman has details from dover >> he was type of the person that you would expect to be a hero. which he is. >> reporter: one by one mourn ers boarded buses headed to delaware state university to remember slain corrections officer, lieutenant steven thyroid. >> i saw a lot of grief, you know, and what he put himself through and what he did for the officers and stuff. you know, sacrifice that he made. >> reporter: floyd a 47 year-old father and grandfather was killed during a standoff and hostage situation last week at james vaughn correctional center near smyrna. the ordeal lasted almost 20 hours, and has fellow corrections em lease, like craig, shaken. >> i'm sure you will think of different things. it is just natural. but you know, we're there to, you know, to do what we have to do. >> reporter: corrections officers came from all over for viewing and funeral.

scene. no officers were injured in that case. well, across the country abortion rights opponents turnout to protest at planned parenthood locations. here in our area several dozen people demonstrated at land parenthood in warminster. they are calling for federal government to cut off payments , to the organization. several people spoke while others held signs. and similar rallies took place in cities all across the country like this one this st. paul, minnesota but there, they faced off with supporters of planned parenthood. last month president trump ban ned u.s. funding to international groups that perform abortions or even provide information about them federal dollars do not pay for abortion but planned parenthood is reimbursed by medicaid for other services including birth control, and cancer screenings. president trump in the meantime is spending sat the day morning golfing with japanese prime minister shinzo abe in florida. he tweeted out these pictures of the the two on the court high fiveing. this is his first time hoeing a foreign leader at his estate

the 76ers honored an icon today. the team unhaled a statue of sixers great hal greer at a training complex in camden. greer started his career with the syracuse nationals in 1958 in 1963, the nationals of course moved to philadelphia and became 76ers and greer was still part of the team. he played here until 1973, and along with wilt chamberlain led team to an nba championship in 1967. today he was asked how he would compete against the players of today. >> well, you know, it would be a challenge. i know the kid are shooting much better then we did back then. we had maybe one or two good shooters back then. now we have all good shooters. >> greer was name within of the 50 greatest players in the nba and induct in the basketball hall of fame in 1982. time for a check of ports.

we have a winter weather advisory for upper bucks, berks, lehigh, northampton and up through poconos at 6:00 o'clock in the morning. the it is rain for everybody else. really for those locations and to the the south and east and at 9:00 in the morning and then we're in and out of the wet weather but still mixed precipitation, north and west of philadelphia, this moisture will start to pull away as we get into sunday evening and may even end as some snow showers, on the back side. as far as precipitation here in philadelphia, we're only calling for about a quarter of an this much. that is the setup for us on sunday but late sunday into monday, the wind will really ramp up on the back side of the system so as we go throughout the day on monday, wind, gusting, as high as 50 miles an hour in, some spots. and here's the exclusive accu weather seven day forecast, rain, drizzle tomorrow, mixed to the north and west and a high of 44. on monday it the is a blustery day, wind gusting to 40 to 50 miles an hour, high temperature of 43 degrees. on tuesday, it is sunny, milder, up to 48 for valentines day, and then mostly cloudy on wednesday in
