scranton area. we'll make a zoom into the lehigh valley. there's allentown, northeast extension into lake harmony and poconos that's where the freezing rain is. perhaps as far south as the northern portions of the lehigh valley. temperatures will climb into the low 40s this afternoon. for the immediate philadelphia it's all a cold rain today. national weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for counties highlighted here, in effect for the combination of sleet and freezing rain. the magic number is 32 degrees, once we get above 32 we don't have to worry about ice freezing on contact with the ground. allentown, 32, poconos 27. when we come back we'll look at the rain in the lehigh valley later on the high wind watch in effect overnight tonight and tomorrow for the gusty winds. >> head to 6abc.com/weather for

hospital to be evaluated. he is expected to be okay. the cause is under investigation. 9:02. two men were shot in the city's strawberry mansion section this morning. philadelphia police are trying to figure out what led to the shooting. officers were called to the 25th street near cecil b. moore avenue. the vehicle slammed into a parked car. the driver was shot in the face. officers rushed him to temple university hospital in critical condition. just down the block officers found a second mantua gunshot injury to his shoulder. he was taken to the hospital in stable condition. a car involved in a crash that sent four people to the hospital is being checked for dui. the three people injured were all in the car that caused the crash. they were taken to the hospital to be treated. >> now, to what appears to be

allentown, that's representing where we're seeing sleet and freezing rain. it's the typically cooler areas that are hovering close to 32 degrees. the ice storm in lake harmony and the poconos. everybody else is seeing rain. in allentown, 34. other locations in and around that area that are at 32 degrees this morning. watch out for slick spots up there. philadelphia, 42. millville, 44. actually everybody south of the pennsylvania turnpike. it's going to be a rain event here as testers -- temperatures are already up in the 40s. even though we're in the 40s, feels like the mid 0s. this 30s, this is noticing compared to what's on the table tonight overnight. this storm hits the coast, it bombs out what we call a meteorologic bomb. winds on the backside of that

low tomorrow afternoon we'll see gusts as high as 50 to 60 miles per hour. make sure you have everything tied down outdoors. anything that's loose you will run the risk of losing it. future tracker 6, 1:00 p.m., steady rains for most of the region. there's the mixing taking place in the lehigh valley and the poconos. that continues until 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. after that everything clears out. we'll see cloudy skies and periods of rain and leftover drizzle. the steady rains fall between the late morning hours into the first part of the afternoon. by evening skies are attempting to brighten up a little bit before sunset. monday looks nice, look for a combination of sun and clouds, we're wind whipped with gusts in the 50 to 60 miles per hour range. the national weather service issued a high wind watch for the entire area, the poconos state of area and jersey shore and the city of philadelphia. when we see winds gusting 350 to

philadelphia, 2.52. new jersey, drivers are paying 2.33 and in delaware, it's costing 2.18 per gallon to fill up. pennsylvanians are paying the highest gas tax in the nation, now you want to make sure you're getting paid for at the pumps. >> inspectors are supposed to check each pump every 18 months. "action news" troubleshooter went along with the inspectors in bucks county. we did our own undercover surveillance. >> we get hundreds of complaints every year, from consumers that call us with concerns about problems when they purchase gas. bucks county weights and measures invites the troubleshooters to come along on the inspection. at the first gas station, no problem, but at this one, pump jump. >> basically as soon as you pick up the pump before you have a chance to squeeze the nozzle as you can see here it starts

charging you. >> you're paying 9 cents for gas you never got. >> that's correct. >> reporter: this is something you can and watch out for. when the inspectors returned indeed norm pump jump. watch happens at the classic super pumper on route 1. all the pumps appear to be in use. seconds later, two sets of pumps shut down. the attendants claim they can't get them back on, which means inspectors can't do their job on the pumps. these inspectors say it has manifested here twice before. >> it's almost as if somebody doesn't want us to test the president trump. the inspector instructs the station not to use them or tamper with them. within the hour, the station manager opens the cabinets in question, the pumps come back to life and some of the tags that

say do not remove are gone. then the attendant uses the pumps to fill up customer vehicles. >> who opened up that pump? >> it wasn't me, i don't know who cut you off. >> we have it on camera. >> cut the cord? the manager of the station admits he did it. >> why did you take the tag off the pump. >> reporter: wayne is the owner. >> wayne got bills to pay, he told me to cut the tag he got to pump the gas to pay the bill. >> reporter: he is facing charges filed by bucks county consumer protection. >> if i have an electrical problem the only way to test the electric is to turn it on. it doesn't make any sense to turn that off it might set itself off anyway. >> reporter: he is not a first time offender, he pleaded guilty three times to other court actions brought against the station. >> i did the five gallon test like we did earlier it turns out

this weekend while snow boarding in vermont. 26-year-old james myers of toms river died in an accident while snow boarding at killington mountain. he left the trail they were on and hit a trail. he died at the hospital from his injuries, police say he was not wearing a helmet. watch this dash cam video as high winds push an 18 wheeler over. it was traveling on interstate 80 when wind topping 90 miles per hour knocked the truck over on top of the police car. nobody was inside the police cruiser at the time. police say the driver of the tractor-trailer ignored posted warnings and has been cited for traveling in a closed section of highway. >> we'll be dealing with winds. that's why we issued a high winds warning. we'll see winds not 90, but we could see 60-mile an hour gusts that could blow cars off the roads or tractor-trailers or

things like that. future tracker 6 we have light rain showing up in philadelphia, points north and west, a little bit farther to the north in the lehigh valley county poconos they are dealing with icing. look at allentown in the middle of screen. you see that speck of blue south of allentown. that's where we're seeing freezing rain. the bigger icing event is to the north. in the poconos, lake harmony, mount pocono, stroudsburg hazleton area. they could see anywhere from a quarter inch of ice to perhaps a little bit more. 0 lousy conditions, treacherous traveling conditions. travel is not advised over the next 6 to 10 hours. yesterday we had a high of 34 degrees. chilly, windchills in the 20s, hello yesterday, 56 with a combination of sun and clouds, the normal is 43 which is close to where we'll be today. later in the avenue day forecast we'll get into next week, 50s and 60s.

arrived on the scene. a home behind the used car dealership caught on fire. a firefighter experienced chest pains. he was taken to the hospital to be evaluated. he is expected to be okay. 10:03 a.m., two men were shot in the strawberry mansion section overnight. philadelphia police are working hard to figure out what led to the shooting. officers were called to the cecil b. moore avenue. they found a vehicle slammed into a parked car. the driver was shot in the face. officers rushed him to temple university hospital in critical condition. just down the block, officers found a second mantua gunshot injury to the shoulder. he was taken to the hospital in stable condition. the driver of a car involved in a crash sent four people to the hospital is being tested for dui. police say the car collided with two parked suvs, on the 4200 block of north broad street in hunting park section. three people injured were all in the car that caused the crash.
