something was not right because he felt light headed having headaches all weekend long and it wasn't until he called the gas department that he realized that this was serious. >> i kept waking up saying my head is hurting, every 20 minutes, every half an hour, i'm dizzy, light headed, i said something is wrong. something is wrong in this house. >> reporter: after feeling ill , the night before, melvin jones decided to call the gas company before he and his wife headed to the hospital. >> he came in with the the device and said it the is carbon monday objecting side everybody leave the house. we knew it was somewhere. >> reporter: jones tried to knock on his neighbor's door to leather her as well but no one came to the door. once at temple university hospital officials notified the fire department, other homes, could be at risk, other possible carbon monoxide reek on the 1200 block of williams street. >> we were not able to get an answer at the door so we made forcible entry where we pulled a few more occupants out. >> they had to take them out of the house and resuscitate her and another young lady.

>> they were doing cpr. i said oh, high god is she dead. >> reporter: pgw, r and i and police detectives came to the block draped in yellow crime tape. fire department says it is possible natalie two homes in the center of the incident had higher then normal level of co but assures other residents on the block it is safe to stay at their homes. >> do you feel like if you had not gone to the hospital you wouldn't have been able to save your neighbor's life. >> yes, definitely. had we not gone in there, she probably would have expired, because she was already, unresponsive. >> reporter: now fire crew did his go door to door, checking the levels of co in teach of these homes. the residents have been allowed back inside their homes tonight, again, the cause remains under investigation. two other residents that were on this block remain at temple university hospital. reporting live there north philadelphia, christie ileto for channel six "action news". >> okay, thanks for that report. three people were injured during an early morning crash, police say, drunk driver, was responsible.

it happened at 3:00 a.m. than broad street in hunting park. investigators say driver of the car was seeding when he slammed into two park vehicles the driver of the speeding car was taken to temple hospital in critical condition, and assuming he recovers, that driver will face dui charges. meanwhile there were two other people inside that vehicle they remain hospitalized in stable condition. police are still piecing together a collision in south philadelphia yesterday afternoon, that left a local music teach are dead. the crash involved five vehicles, and investigators say the driver who caused it all was drunk. the "action news" reporter jeanette reyes is live now with reaction from the scene, jeanette. >> reporter: sarah, neighbors were stunned when they heard what sounded like multiple crashes, they came outside to find a second drunk driver and he had just swiped several parked cars, and it took them nearly 20 minutes before they realized, a local music teacher was one of them. it was just past 3:00 in the afternoon when a loud bang

startled neighbors on the 1800 block of south 13th street. this witness who did not the want to be identified said that a man, who appeared to be intoxicated stumbled out of his car. the man was traveling northbound and driven into four cars side swiping them. the neighbors were assessing the damage and just as the suspect slipped away they made a shocking discovery. >> minute after he walk off, the scene, and kind of shut us ually they realized that there was a woman in the car. >> reporter: woman was 66 years old ape yet to be identified by police. neighbors tell us she was a music teacher taking a quick break in between lessons. today victim's husband came to the scene to have his wife, towed, and he appeared to be still in shock over sudden tragedy. >> her husband came by, to take care of the car, and, you know, it was very hard. he watched the car being towed away and walked around a little while afterward.

>> reporter: the suspected drunk driver was arrested just a few blocks away. investigation into the crash is still ongoing. one thing police are going to look into is whether or not the impact of the air bag, and ended up killing would the man reporting live from south philadelphia, jeanette reyes for channel six "action news". >> thank you. new information tonight about a shooting in south philadelphia, earlier this morning. the it turned out natalie victim is john davis, a senior basketball player at towson university, in town to play drexel and then attended a family function. davis was shot in the knee just after midnight along 900 block of south fourth street. so far no arrests have been made. police in philadelphia are investigating another double shooting in the strawberry mansion section. the investigators say this one happened near 25th street and cecil b. moore avenue, a three three-year old hand was shot in the face and remains in critical condition. a second victim, a 31 year-old man, was shot in the left shoulder. he is in stable condition at temple hospital. no arrestness this case either

a mother from mayfair received an amazing gift, today, courtesy of the philadelphia flyers. her nine month-old baby girl is battling cancer, so the flyers wife's teamed up, with another foundation to give them a beautiful place to call home. "action news" reporter bob brooks, has this story. >> it is just amazing, like, the workhat is put into this , it is even if meanal. >> reporter: she could not hold tears back any longer. these are tears of joy, michelle and her nine month-old daughter syriaana walked into her newly remodeled home in may in mayfair for the first time. >> i told myself you have to be ready to go because hard times only last for a short time but happiness is forever and thinks our happiness. >> reporter: she's south well spoken and only a teen, hard to believe but someone in her shoes need a sharp character and smart mind. her baby is battling cancer. little syriaana is receiving chemotherapy treatments now and you can only imagine the fight they have now. she and her family have a

"action news" was there in new castle for promotion of the bringing dean general carroll timons. she takes over for major general frank who served as a general for 18 years. timons has 40 years of service as a helicopter and cargo plane pilot including numerous combat missions. she's also delaware's first female two star general. and railroad fans hey track in bucks county for new hope solebury train hoe. to more than 100 vendors selling equipment and memorabilia for every gauge of model train. there were experts there to help answer questions, and it was a day dedicated to the glory days of the railroad industry.
