officer was injured after a wild chase with dirt bikers. jeanette reyes has the whole story. jeanette? >> walter, a highway patrol officer is recovering from an injured leg after a long chase. it was a chaotic night for sure. right now police are trying to figure out what happened. for nearly two hours, officers shut down diamond street between 23rd and 24th. the police pursuit may have started with the sound of gunshots. authorities tell "action news" they heard what sounded like gunfire. they have yet to find casings, but it set off the chase. a bike was recovered. that's where the female patrol officer was injured, possibly a broken leg.

the chase continued to eerie where another bike was found. no weapons were found at any of the scenes. the scenes are now cleared out. the highway patrol officer may have suffered a broken leg. how she got the injury we do not know yet and her condition has not been released. police do not know if what they heard was a fun shot and if it was, whether it was directed at them. the investigation continues tonight. when we have an update, we'll patspass italong. jeanette reyes, "action news," walter? >> a toddler was injured after being struck by an suv that took off. the toddler was struck just before 5:00. the youngster was flown to children's hospital of philadelphia with serious injuries. we are told the injuries are not

considered life threatening. the suv was last seen going south on main street. anyone with information are asked to call police. >> a man and woman were stabbed in atlantic city on north harris avenue. no arrests in this case. >> a cab driver was arrested after shooting another cabby during an argument outside the busy frank ford transportation center. the two got into a dispute. one pulled a gun and the other pulled a knife. >> bail has been set at $250,000 for a woman from delaware county accused of stabbing an eight-year-old girl in the head with a butcher nice. majeah bashir was arraigned this

morning. the girl was baby sitting bashir's toddler. >> moving to the accuweather forecast, what a day today. temperatures in the 60s gave us a welcome break from wintertime and tomorrow could be better. melissa magee joins us with the details. >> we had a beautiful start to our weekend. in fact a huge jump from where temperatures were yesterday. yesterday on friday, a seasonal high of 48. today, 68 in philadelphia. that's one degree shy of the record, 69 set back in 2011 and well above the norm of 44 this time of year. we have a nice southwesterly wind. most spots upper 50s. lancaster 47 in allentown, poconos 51 cape may at this hour

knocked out power to many people. a fire engine plummeted into a hole. no one at this scene was injured. >> this is a scene from a los angeles suburb after a sinkhole opened and swallowed two cars. the first car went in and rescue crews found the driver standing on top of the car screaming for help. >> the commander in chief is still the campaigner and chief. president trump arrived to orlando national airport to a hangar packed with 9,000 supporters. the event was paid for with campaign funds. this rallied the theme of the president's theme from months ago, securing jobs, attacking

you will see everyone out here on their feet. we spoke with a young woman that lost her leg in a battle with cancer. she's in a wheelchair. her story is incredible. take a listen. >> thon is students working together to fight childhood cancer. everyone can't dance. miss garcia can't stand. the chemo wasn't working. >> garcia is 19. despite what happened to her, she's not bitter, rather hopeful. >> stay positive and don't let cancer take over you. if you do, it's hard for you to get through it. >> she says what's happening here at thon is what needs to happen for her and others battling cancer. >> it helps to know you are not alone in the battle with cancer. it's hard to deal with. >> it seems that's the message heard loud and clear. the dancers have been on their

feet more than a day now. you won't hear anyone complaining. if they need help, it's there. nursing students are running a medical station. >> they'll be here 46 hours. we take control of their medications throughout the weekend. >> athletic training students are running their own clinic. >> dancers can get ice, massage, tape, anything to keep them on their feet. >> director austin summers says it's being executed perfectly. >> i'm proud of the volunteers. i'm excite today see how they carry out the rest to have weekend. >> that's no exaggeration. it's being executed perfectly. there are high-flying men gymnastic teams. the pep rally has been going on

records to watch, philadelphia, the record 68 set in 1948, wilmington the record high 67. 68 trenton, allentown. the seven-day forecast, we are near records across the delaware and lehigh valleys. monday, a cold front coming through. it's nice for president's day, a high of 53. tuesday, sunshine giving way to increasing clouds quickly, a high of 49, overnight tuesday into wednesday, showers are likely early in the day. milder wednesday afternoon and 60 for the high. thursday, clouds and sun, mild and 67. next friday in the lower 60s a few showers likely saturday and a high of 62. this is more like mid april weather. we'll take it. >> absolutely.
