this morning a chance sighting of the suspect in the woods nearby but the witness says once he called out the man took off. >> and he was wearing all black but i noticed he was like inn like a hunched over position. >> reporter: greg reagan was walking in the woods at kings grant in evesham's marlton section with his three-year-old son this morning when he surprised a man dressed in a black hoodie and cargo pants. >> i yelled to my son get over here and i'm guessing that he thought you a somebody trying to come and get him. he just -- he just took off running as fast as he possibly could. >> reporter: police suspect it may be this man who is wanted for a series of lewd acts in the kings grant area. police say there have been at least seven incidents since june typically in the afternoon during warm weather. >> he's been approaching females that have been walking or jogging and this subject has proceeded to pull down his pants and masturbate in front of the females. >> reporter: thursday afternoon he did it near these trees at the intersection of kings grant and wood lake drive and then ran into the woods. pleased used k-9s to try to

track him along the trails that run through the development but had no luck. >> just to think that there's a weirdo like that lurking around is kind of creepy. >> i think it's disgusting. yeah. i don't like it in the neighborhood but we'll get it dealt. >> reporter: the area is filled with children and parents are on alert. >> worried about the kids out here. my son is 17. ooh imnot worried about him but these other kids that play out here and this is supposed to be a safe neighborhood but it can happen anywhere. >> there's all kinds of weirdoes today and this world just scares me. it really does. >> reporter: have you seen him. >> no. >> reporter: police are hoping residents will take a good luck at the sketch and be on the lookout for this thinly built white male in his 20's with what's described as a ghostly pale complexion. >> i don't want this man to go any further than what he's been doing. it seems like now if he's out at 10:00 a.m. he's getting too comfortable. >> reporter: now, the suspect so far has always been on foot. no car has been involved. police think he may live here in kings grant because he

recorded there of 77 and, yes, bad news for the ski resorts, mount pocono a record as well, 67. you notice the cool spot cape may. you get that wind off the ocean. ocean temperatures only in the low 40's makes a big difference with the air temperatures. now, yesterday he, today and this past sunday three days of temperatures in the 70's. this is only happened once before. that was way back in 1930 and we have never had three consecutive days in the 70's in february until this year. because that will likely happen tomorrow with temperatures back into the mid 70's. however, you can see there's much cooler air waiting in the wings. chicago it's 40, bismarck north dakota it's 30 degrees and storm tracker6 live double scan showing that cold front will bring us a round of storms and end this unprecedented warmth. i'll talk about the timing of the storms and just how cold it will feel behind that coming up in the full accuweather forecast. monica. >> thank you cecily. is affecting the slopes. not good news for them, bob. >> reporter: monica, no its not. as one young woman put it it feels like it's surfing out here only we're in the poconos in pennsylvania and it's on slow. as you can imagine there is some significant snow melting happening. some other places hit worse than blue mountain but blue mountain says they were making snow and preparing for it. behind me here people love it. there's a line at the main lift. you see people out here in shorts and t-shirts absolutely just thriving in this weather but again, they're worried about the season ending too soon because it is so warm out here. that right there is a young man dressed for the beach and he's skiing at blue mountain resort. it's february and the unusually warm weather has skiers and snow borders dressed unusually light for this time of year. you'll hear most say they love it. >> warm out. i don't know if it's the warmest i've ever seen. >> beautiful man. perfect weather for sledding. >> reporter: they're worried this wind season is going to be cut entirely too short.

>> hopefully the snow lasts a little bit longer and we get some more. >> reporter: melissa yuengling with blue mountain took us out to talk about the warm weather and ski conditions. >> we have a great base across the mountains that we were blowing snow when we had the temperatures to prepare. >> reporter: being prepared she says most of the slopes are opened. >> i think our biggest obstacle right now is just reminding people like hey, we're still here and ready o to go. >> reporter: other resorts around the area have had significant melting and that's ununfortunate. so severe some of the races next weekend might be moved to blue mountain. one racer we spoke with said obviously with warm weather conditions aren't ideal. >> it's hard to set a course and keep the snow firm enough. >> reporter: she says the team is doing a great job keeping up with temperatures. >> the race program did a good job to put down chemicals on the course to keep it firm. there's not a lot you can do when it's this warm.

>> reporter: not a lot that you can do. and you can see people out here in line at the lift. that man is wearing a tank top, first time in my life today that i have seen little children, there was a whole group of them, wearing t-shirts and shorts and it is february and they're trying go skiing or snowboarding. for now reporting live at blue mountain resort bob brooks channel6 "action news." rick, back to you. >> bob, thank you for that report. in other news investigation continues into an overnight hotel fire that injured two people in south jersey. the ramada inn in vineland cumberland county went up in flames about 1:30 this morning. crews went to rescue people who were trying to jump to safety. took more than two and a half hours to get the flames under control. one of the people injured was a police officer. part of the hotel was badly damaged. the rest still opened for business. [cheers and applause] >> a controversial plan to build a pipeline through new jersey's pinelands officially won approval today.

the 15 member pinelands commission gave the green light to the proposal. construction of a natural gas pipeline through that federally protected land can now move forward. those in favor of the project say it will provide reliable energy for south jersey and minimal disruption to the pinelands. opponents who fear the pipeline will harm the fragile eco system there have vowed to sue to stop the project. >> ♪ president donald trump took to the stage at this year's cpac to attack the media today. he called news organizations "very cunning and very dishonest." this as a decision from the white house press office created a stir among media outlets nationwide this afternoon. we'll have that part of the story coming up a little bit later at 5:30. >> at the big board now with a crucial special election in the state of delaware. right now there are 10 republicans and 10 democrats in delaware state senate but tomorrow, voters in middletown glasgow and southern newark will determine which party

takes control. democrat bethany hall-long who represented the state's tenth district resigned last month after she was inaugurated lieutenant governor. well, now three candidates respect running to replace he her. democrat stephanie hansen republican jeanmar reno and joseph atlantilanzendorfer. hansen says her focus will be jobs public education and mental health resources. >> if you're ever going to be involved in politics, now is the time that you need to be involved. this is absolutely a critical stage because this is a turning point for our community a turning point for our state senate and for the general assembly. >> republican john marino is looking to turn the tide for republicans in delaware. if he were to win the gop control the state senate for the first time in 44 years. "action news" reached out to

until you get stuck in this. schuylkill expressway westbound has been a crawl for much of the afternoon from vare through this point at south, the whole way out to city avenue. that's where we had a major police response to this some incident that was going on. everybody's gone now. everything's opened but it is a slow crawl on the westbound side of 76. use the river drives coming out of the city. that will help you a little bit but just allow plenty of extra time if you're headed in that direction this afternoon. extra time also required on the pennsylvania turnpike eastbound speeds just in the teens but the crash near norristown is off to the side. in the lehigh valley there's a crash on 22 westbound. it's been causing a gaper delay on the eastbound side. bottom line is 78 through allentown will be a much better bet and we had a crash over the delaware memorial bridge delaware bound still sluggish there. now it's just construction taking out the left lane. in berlin there's a crash on the white horse pike at ellis avenue and a downed pole on the black horse pike there in sicklerville. we'll check it again, rick and monica, coming up in the next half hour. >> all right. see you then. thanks, matt. much more still ahead on "action news" at 5:00 tonight.

>> ♪ >> breaking news in philadelphia's port richmond section right now chopper6 over the scene of a house, this is the 3200 block of mercer street where about an hour ago police say the relative of a woman discovered the 41-year-old victim unresponsive in the living room and you see there was blunt force trauma to her hea head. medic aide was rushed to the scene and pronounced her dead. they dispose foul play in this case. >> turning to health check tonight. the number of people who have died from a drug overdose has nearly tripled since the late 90's. >> ali gorman at the big board with these alarming stats. ali. >> they crunched the numbers from 1999 to 2015. it under scores the growing problem with heroin. just from 2010 to 2015, heroin related deaths went up 17 percent. we've seen this problem growing. people get hooked on opioid painkillers and then switch to heroin because it's cheaper.

to make matters worse some drug dealers are selling heroin laced with fentanyl that increases the risk for overdose and death. the highest rate for fatal overdose was seen in adults 45 to 54. lawmakers have introduced several new bills and programs with an effort to turn this problem around. a bone marrow transplant may give people with an aggressive form of multiple sclerosis reliever when traditional treatments fail. british researchers look at 300ms patients who had transplants using their own bone marrow stem cells. half were disease free five years later and some were still doing well 10 years later. experts say it's not just an option for severe ms but possibly for less aggressive forms in the future. >> this may be an option for more typical patients. it's not ready for prime time as yet. but that's going to be formally examined. >> the bone marrow transplant basically reboots your immune system but the procedure can

12 pennsylvania delaware and south jersey area schools each had two students in the local automotive technology competition. they took part in hands on technician challenges working against the clock. the first place winners were from north montco technical career center. they'll now head to the national competition in new york and compete for college scholarships s congratulations. a habitat for humanity work site in delaware had a special volunteer helping out today. u.s. representative lisa blunt rochester donned a hard hat and glasses and took part in the walnut ridge construction knowledge wilmington. it will provide homes for a number of low income families when completed. but habitat for humanity has been struggling to find volunteers to work on the project. so delaware's only congresswoman says she decided to lend a hand to ensure that the new homes will hopefully hope as scheduled next month. >> devoted parents got special treatment today as part of an effort to strengthen new jersey families. they came to the national conference center here in east

unprecedented february worth. warmth. the snow is melting very quickly. as a skier i find this kind of a depressing look in february. if you are planning on doing any skiing tomorrow is not going to be the day for it. 61 degrees, a few showers and possible in the morning but the main batch will be rolling through in the early to midafternoon with some showers and thunderstorms, the high 61 degrees. much better ski conditions on sunday, sunshine is back, it's 35 degrees and wind chills at the ski resorts will be in the 20's. so, it's definitely going to be kind of a dose of reality on sunday after temperatures like this, second day in a row of temperatures in the 70's. philadelphia 70, allentown 73, trenton 72 with the wind off the ocean lot cooler in cape may. that happens this time of the year with the ocean temperature in the 40's. satellite6 and action radar showing our big temperature change will come with this, this cold front that is sparking some severe weather across the ohio valley. this will be sweeping through late in the day tomorrow and

behind it we return to more typical february weather on sunday. tonight, though, it's going to be another very warm night. temperatures again only dropping into the 50's. lots of clouds developing with some patchy dense fog, kind of a repeat performance of last night. have ick in philadelphia, allentown 54, cape may 51 and wilmington 52 degrees. so, tomorrow we will see the return of some sunshine. kind of mid morning and then late in the day is when the thunderstorms roll through. should make it into the 70's third day in a row, never happened in recorded history in february for philadelphia. so, this is definitely unprecedented. future tracker showing the timing of the storms around 3 o'clock, this is when this line will develop in our far western counties, looks like it will be hitting the i-95 corridor philadelphia around 5:30 and then hitting along the shore right around 7:30, so it's really a quick moving system with some heavy downpours and the potential for some gusty thunderstorms. so, the five day at 5:00

noel and admitted joel embiid will miss four more games today they sit ben simmons down for the rest of the season. jeff skversky live at wells fargo center where the sixers are set to take on the wizards tonight in front of what i'm sure is a very disappointed fan base, jeff, hm? >> reporter: jamie, this is not what sixers fans wants to hear. ben simmons officially shut down the rest of the season. that number one overall pick will not play and the sixers maintain still to this day that they expected him to play but the fact is that bone is not 100 percent healed so they are saying no go for that number one overall pick. here's ben simmons today back in the trainers room after finding out yesterday during a ct scan that he's not 100 percent, he's healing slower than expected. the sixers say they do not want to rush him back and then put him in a situation where he could refracture that fifth metatarsal. now they're aiming for him to play in the summer league and hopefully for the start of next season.

what follows as we go into next week. storm tracker6 live double scan shows a lot of sunshine today, a few cumulus clouds this afternoon but again records broke across the area and as we take a live look right now from our temple university camera on sky6 the sunset four minutes ago but you're noticing that daylight kind of hanging on past that 6 o'clock hour and a little ribbon of clouds in the far background there but overall it is the end of a pretty spectacular february day if you truly enjoy the warmth. 74 record tying. the old record was 1985. the normal 46 degrees. remember this number 'cause in two days, that's how it will be on sunday but the wind chills will be much lower. the low this morning 50 degrees when our normal is 29. in fact, we tied the record in philadelphia but it was the all time warmest temperature for allentown as well as reading meaning they have never been this warm in the month of february in their history, at least for

allentown. they tied in it reading at 77 degrees so exceptional warmth especially in those far northwestern suburbs away from that wind that was coming in out of the south-southeast at times today so that's why numbers are in the 60's down to the south and 50's right along the shore and we're still hanging onto the 70's for trenton, allentown, reading at the present hour. the poconos also smashing their old record by 7 degrees, they hit 67 this afternoon. we see that area of clear skies along the eastern seaboard. then you go back towards the ohio valley. here's the cold front and there is some severe weather with this and there could be some isolated severe thunderstorms with the front tomorrow afternoon when it pushes through. but most of the day tomorrow you can plan outdoor activities. partly sunny, 70 in allentown, 74 philadelphia, 72 in wilmington. really no records but still very warm but at the shore if you're heading down there bundle up, temperatures there only in the 50's. it's starting at the 3 o'clock hour in those far northwestern

a 41-year-old woman has been found dead in a home on the 3200 block of mercer street. "action news" reporter christie ileto is live at the scene. christie, what are you finding there? >> reporter: well, jim, police are still on the scene trying to piece together what happened. now, homicide detectives are calling this a suspicious death and suspect foul play after a woman's body was discovered inside this port richmond home on the right. now, this is a look from chopper6 over the scene. just after 4:00 today police say a relative discovered the 41-year-old unresponsive in the living room of a home on the 3200 block of mercer. detectives say there are obvious injuries to the victim's head. she was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and right now it's unclear if there were any signs of forced entry. so far no arrests but again, police remain on scene. they are talking to neighbors and we even saw them pointing at what we believe are some home surveillance cameras on the exterior of one of the homes across the street o
