overnight. what the city's top cop is saying about the shootings. >> and the progress erasing the vandalism at the mt. carmel cemetery. but the big story is the clouds moving in. we already had rain this morning and now a stronger system is moving into our area. lets get the latest from meteorologist david murphy. >> stormtracker 6 live double scan right now primed for the next round. the first round is moving away from us. we did get thunderstorms but they were not severe mainly to the north and now to the west and a little additional precipitation welling up. if you look live at stormtracker 6 live double scan clearly the radar is showing you the heavy rain and thunderstorms at the front end of this system as it pushes to the east and this light shade of yellow say thunderstorm watch area. and that will probably get pushed farther to the east. and thunderstorm warning boxes popping up in front of the main

body of this participation as it comes east. this is an issue over the next couple of hours. i think as early as 2:00 and 3:00 you'll see this rain companied by thunderstorms. for now the thunderstorm watches are only extended to the east to lancaster but i think there is a good chance this will push farther to the east. and when you look at the where the storm prediction center is showing the possibility of storms. this is worse than what we showed you this morning. we had a slight risk and now an enhanced risk it has been pulled through philadelphia and covered most of south jersey and all of delaware. this means that any storms that form this afternoon will have the potential any way of producing strong damaging wind gusts and hail and frequent lightning as well. another thing to look at this is something you can watch for over the next couple of hours.

new video shows the damage i inconflicted in several states. it's blamed on three deaths. and the weather service is working on determining how many tornadoes swept through. and an arson investigation is underway in elsmere, delaware, they believe it was intentionally set, and the apartment complex is under renovation and empty at the time and the fire cost an estimated $100,000 in damage. two people lost their lives no deadly gun fire in philadelphia overnight. and investigators believe they were unrelated but happened 30 minutes apart. katherine scott is live on rising sun avenue with the latest. >> reporter: that is right there were two homicides in the city within a half hour overnight and police are searching for the people behind them. neighbors on this north philadelphia block tell "action

news" they heard about a dozen gunshots at 2:45 and a 31-year-old man was lying in the road hit multiple times he had wounds to his head chest and back and was pronounced dead shortly after 3:00 a.m. around 2:20 a.m. police were called for a person shot in feltonville. a 24-year-old man hit in the chest on rising sun after few, he was pronounced dead at the hospital at 2:35 a.m. police were questioning witnesses from a nearby after hours club but they were unsure if the victim was inside before the shooting and the two shootings were unrelated and the homicide rate is higher now than the same time last year. the police commissioner says that long-term trends can be more telling. >> it's early in the year for us to be talking about percentages, we are just concerned about any

newly released video shows the end to a police chase in indiana. the truck goes airborne and lands on another car. a person was sitting in the vehicle when the truck slammed on the roof. >> i saw the underside a vehicle coming at me at my face and i went to the right sitting in my car. >> that woman's kick dive may have saved her life because it was the only part of her car that was not crushed by the falling truck. the 18-year-old suspect fled an early traffic stop and reached speeds topping 100 miles per

hour. the chase ended when his truck hit spike strips and swerved off the road. incredibly nobody was injured. a police office was dragged while doing a traffic stop. he drove off dragging the officer with him and police chased him down and ram aid cruiser into the van forcing him to pull over. two offerses suffered minor injuries. the widow of a gunman behind a deadly accident in florida. may be released from jail. the hearing will happen in california to determine if she will be released before trial. she is accused of aiding her husband omar mateen after the deadly nightclub attack in orlando. 50 people were killed. and the judge ordered a

in philadelphia past 12:30 this afternoon but by 2:00 2:30 if you are in reading or lancaster, i would look to the west in case the skies turn ominous and you get the arrival of strong thunderstorms. the models are fairly consistent bringing it close to i-95 at 3:00, 4:00 not everybody sees the heavy downpours and potential thunderstorm. but some of you do. and by 4:30 or 5:00s near and theal shower popping throughngaterat are we expecting out of the storms? not everybody and maging wind gusts are possible and frequent lightning is possible and hail i'm saying and it's a 60 minute danger these will not take all of that long to pass a given area than is an argument for staying inside when they come through, if you have something to do even if it's a walk home from school.

david murphy has the details from accuweather. >> i found the sky 6 hd shot you showed. the skies looked like they were brightening a bit and that is not good for thunderstorms. if you keep it cloudy the atmosphere is more settled. if we break out with sun that means some of us will get a gusty thunderstorm. for now we see action out to the west and no lightning yet from the shower and that one looks to be heading up to the poconos. and around here light sprinkles to the west and the wider view on stormtracker 6 live double scan clearly shows you the great image of a line of strong storms. the yellow you see outside of this storm system
