i'm meteorologist, cecily tynan, with this accuweather alert. as an area of intense thunderstorms are is moving across our region on the first day of march. the most intense has been south of philadelphia. most of our viewing area under a severe thunderstorm watch except for the lehigh valley and the poconos until 7:00 and we do now have a severe thunderstorm warning for kent and sussex county delaware until 3:45 and this extends into cumberland county and cape may county and atlantic county as this line of storms is moving quickly moving to the east at 60 miles per hour. it moved through quanico it reported a wind gust of 78 miles per hour. and these are the communities in the path of that storm.
