ignited that and took off and everyonely the steeple collapsed. the flames were unbelievable, they were flying 100 yards. all the buildings to that side to the east were threatened. >> and intense and devastating scene there. we know the fire brought down power lines in the area. neighbors say they were shocked when they saw the church go up in flames. >> about 1:02 a.m. we came outside and we seen the fire, the fire trucks were here, they were trying to get in, but the flames were out of control, because of the wind, there was nothing they could do and all of a sudden we started looking and everybody started screaming because the church was fire. you see all the firearmmen running up there, it was a hectic scene. >> the child that died was in the home where the fire started. crews found an injured man.

three people displaced after a fire at an apartment complex in west philadelphia. crews were called out to the 5400 block of bartram drive. everyone escaped without injuries, red cross will provide assistance to those affected by the fire. 9:04 it is clear that a man was shot, but philadelphia police were unable to find out where the shooting happened. the man said he was shot in the stomach in the 2100 block of scattergood street in wissinoming around 3:00 a.m. police say they have turned up no evidence of a sleuth there. the man got to a 7-eleven on harbison avenue. someone took him to the hospital. we are told he is in serious condition. there's new information about the massive pileup on interstate 81 in schuylkill county. snow squalls yesterday caused whiteout conditions leading to a mangled mess of metal.

32 vehicles were involved in the crash. 55-year-old charles earnburg of hazleton was killed. northbound and southbound lanes between 81 and route 54 and 309 were closed for hours. early this morning, firefighters rescued two people from an overturned vehicle in north philadelphia. the nissan ultima veered into an empty kia par north 5th street around 3:30 a.m. a man and woman inside the nissan were trapped for ten minutes before firefighters eventually got to them. both are in the hospital in stable condition. the fbi right now investigating a cyber attack that targeted pennsylvania senate democrats computer system. the randalsome ware a-- ransom ware attack left lawmakers unable to access their computer network yesterday. malicious software was discovered yesterday morning.

quickly. 28 degrees in, dewpoint, 8. pressure is rising. windchills in the teens, feels like 14 in allentown. 17 in philadelphia. feels like 18 in millville. 15 in trenton. they are still below zero with the wind in the poconos. this is an impressive cold shot, but it could have been worse. the pattern has been west to east most of the winner. we're seeing the west to east influence in the pattern now. the cold air moved in from canada, but it only dropped as far south as right there. there's philadelphia, let's say northern new england you can see how much colder it is. look at the bulls eye, the purple shade. the numbers across the lower 48 we're seeing 20s and 30s, we missed this by 500 miles or so, which is not much. teens and 20s below zero. this area of low pressure rounded the bend that's the hudson bay, it's pushing east

chris, appears old man winter says i'm not gone yet. >> reporter: he is not giving up without a fight that's for sure. it is cold this morning, so cold in fact it's the coldest morning we've seen around here in a little more than 3 weeks. the actual air temperature this morning dropped down to 24 degrees, three days ago we were sitting at 74 degrees. it's a 50-degree drop. the windchill got down to 15. some areas dropped into the single digits. temperatures are starting to warm up a little bit now. we have a lot of work told. 23 in quakertown. warrington 28. center city, 28 degrees most of us south jersey and delaware showing up in the 20s, smyrna, 31. gandys beach, 28. cinnaminson, 27. villas, 30. satellite and radar so we're seeing a few fair weather puffy cumulus clouds begin to pop up.

terror on the streets of philadelphia, someone fired over 40 shots and a school bus is caught in the crossfire. amazingly nobody on the bus was hurt, but this morning police are looking for four men who may have been involved in the shooting. "action news" reporter, dann cuellar with the details. >> reporter: these are images of the school bus parked near the intersection of 19th and wingahocking. windows where shattered from the bullets that struck the vehicle. the shooting broke out before 4:30 p.m. >> the bullets we will be ablee passenger side and exited the drivers side of the bus. >> reporter: residents say a dice game was going on between men on the sidewalk in front of the corner store. a red vehicle with heavy tint arrived four men exited carrying semi automatic weapons all hell broke loose. ballistic

evidence we know 42 shots were fired from semi automatic weapons. a 45-year-old woman driver her 27-year-old driver and 13-year-old girl were on board the bus as it passed through the intersection. they somehow managed to escape the barrage of gunfire. >> all three females luckily and miracle -- miraculously were not injured. >> reporter: despite all the shots that were fired, the man that was the target escaped. instead, a 58-year-old man he was talking to was shot, even then they almost missed him, too. >> he was shot in the ear. >> reporter: despite the fact nobody was hit, residents were upset something like this could happen. >> it makes me want to cry. it brings tears to the eyes they are the innocent ones. you think they stop and think? >> reporter: so far the four men have evaded police. they are being caught. the 58-year-old man caught in

the gunfire is in stable condition at einstein medical center. at police headquarters, dann cuellar channel 6 "action news." >> it is 9:35 a.m., a man charged with making threats against jewish centers across the country committed the acts as revenge against an ex-girlfriend. there were 22 bomb threats called into jewish schools and observations in 36 states since january 9. juan thompson was arrested charged with making 8 threats. he is a former journalist who was fired for fabricating sources and quotes. his next hearing is wednesday. chris christie offering a reward to track those targeting jewish commune centers -- community centers in the garden state. governor announced state is offering up to ten thousand dollar rewards for any leads
