surgery. >> i went up and i was shivering until one of the fire ladies gave me this blanket. i was standing there like this. >> reporter: he says he had no time to grab anything except his sweatshirt e expects his belongings inside are burned. >> i lost my car keys, my wallet inside the historic. >> reporter: if it's all in there it's probably burned. >> yeah probably. now i have no way of getting home. fire officials say this was a four alarm fire. and right now those who live around here are asked to stay inside. >> if you're here, you're fine. just stay in the house, close the windows and eventually this will all go away. >> you can see out here the. >> reporter: another live look out here. again the goal right now is to cool down any hot spots. now, this is an aquatic center. there are pools here. that means chemicals and chemicals may have been burning but the fire commissioner says a hazmat crew has been sent in. any threat has been eliminated.

reporting live in northeast philadelphia bob brooks channel6 "action news." monica. >> thank you bob. 6abc.com has coverage of the fire at the aquatic fitness center. you can see photo from the scene videos from chopper6 is that the action cam. >> president trump signed a new travel banda revised version of that controversial order that was struck down by a federal court. the new order sr narrower in scope and temporarily bars any new visas for citizens of six muslim majority countries. iraq is no longer on that list. the president signed the order behind closed doors today. it was then publically rolled out by his national security team. >> it is the president's solemn duty to protect the american people. and with this order president trump is exercising his rightful authority to keep our people safe. >> now, the new order aims to address the legal issues sparked by his original ban which set off protests across the country. white house officials though say even with the changes the

goal of the original order has not changed. that has critics concerned. they say the new order amounts to a dangerous muslim ban but supporters say it's a reasonable effort to ensure that our borders are secure. "action news" reporter john rawlins sampled reaction today. >> reporter: critics who helped organize airport protests like this one against the first travel ban, say this relaunched version might differ in some ways, six not seven nations, no special exceptions for minority religions a 10 day period before it takes:but overall the instent to discriminate against muslims. reinhold again is an attorney. >> the language has changed. they took out some more overt discriminatory language in the ban but the intent is still the same in my opinion. >> reporter: the intent. >> the intent is to preclude muslims from coming into the country. >> reporter: during the rollout today officials main taint goal of the measure to beef up the vetting from six countries, three of which are

state sponsors of terrorism, three whose sovereignty has been compromised by terrorists. >> to our allies and partners around the world, please understand this order sr part of our ongoing efforts to eliminate vulnerabilities that radical islamist terrorists can and will exploit for destructive ends. critics contend a widespread blanket ban is not an effective way to try to stop and locate anyone who wants to harm our homeland. >> there's ways to identify and address risks and there's no reason not to do that. that doesn't involve banning an entire category of people. >> reporter: john rawlins channel6 "action news." >> time right now for a check of the accuweather forecast. >> meteorologist adam joseph standing by live outside with the details. >> we have been digging out of that that winter kneeling we had over the weekend. some... feeling that we had over the weekend. temperatures back above. no this past weekend was the coldest in near two months in philadelphia and across the delaware and lehigh valleys. on saturday it was just

36 degrees with wind chills in the teens and 20's and on sunday, yesterday, just 38 degrees for a high. again, the last time we were that cold for daytime highs january 7th and 8th but you can see that southerly wind is starting to take back over. we're 50 degrees in philadelphia, 53 pittsburgh, 50 washington charleston west virginia and richmond back into the lower 60's. storm tracker6 live double scan you can see showers working into the western part of pennsylvania and also into west virginia and the ohio valley. this is all along the warm front that will be pushing through here late tonight, early tomorrow morning, increasing the clouds and the chance for a few spotty showers. so, looking in that accuweather forecast we'll talk about some of that rain pushing in. we'll time it on future tracker for you. two days in the 60's after the rain passes and then winter will make a harsh return by the end of the week. we'll talk about all of that and maybe even the chance for some more snow, monica, in that full accuweather forecast in just a little bit. >> all right. thank you so much.

a 27-year-old man is facing a long list of traffic and drug charges after he crashed his car into a house in upper darby. chopper6 overhead as police responded to the 1200 block of old lane street. a haverford township officer says he saw the driver pull into traffic without stopping. that officer started following the man but the suspect lost control and crashed before the officer could even turn on his lights and siren to pull him over. the driver then ran from the scene. police quickly caught up with him and arrested him. >> the search is still on this afternoon for the person who opened fire on two teenaged brothers in southwest philadelphia. police say they were sitting in a car yesterday afternoon in broad daylight when someone fired a barrage of bullets. one of the brothers did not survive. fake members have identified the victims as 16-year-old zibrii and 19-year-old sibrii davis. police say it happened around 2:30 yesterday afternoon on the 8100 block of lions avenue. they say the gunman who was

driving a dark vehicle opened fire on the white hyundai sonata with the brothers still inside. sibrii was hit several times in the torso and was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. a bullet struck his brother, zibrii on the side of his face. he remains in critical condition at the children's hospital of philadelphia. investigators believe the brothers drove off to avoid the gunfire but then struck a pole instead. sources tell "action news" that the shooter did have a brief conversation with the siblings before firing his weapon. investigators are now working this case. they are talking to neighbors scanning surveillance video and trying to hunt down just whoever is responsible for this. one brother, dead this afternoon, the other critically injured. monica. >> all right, thank you. convicted sex offender jerry sandusky is now in a medium security prison in western pennsylvania. the former penn state assistant football coach was moved from a maximum security

facility. he's now at state correctional institution somerset, that's 70 miles southeast pittsburgh. a corrections spokeswoman says up moves are not uncommon. sandusky is serving 30 to 60 years for his 2012 conviction for molesting several boys. >> hundreds had of local nurses and technicians were off the job for a second day today. it's part of a two day planned strike at delaware county memorial hospital in drexel hill. "action news" was there this morning as workers were once again on the picket line. they're protesting what they say are unfair labor practices and stalled bargaining. officials with the owner, prospect medical holdings say staffing sat or above the national average. we'll have much more on this stand just in a live report at 4:30 today. >> time for a check of the "action news" traffic report on a monday. >> hope things are off to a good start. matt pelman standing by in the "action news" traffic center with a first look. hey, matt. >> hey, guys. traffic is at above average perhaps in some spots already this afternoon. other spots it's just a few dustups that we have going on

like near morrisville bucks county. this is the ramp from pennsylvania avenue to go south on the super highway, route one and we're going to get a real closeup shot of this police officer out here blocking off the southbound on-ramp to route one. that's because there's an accident on one itself. i think we'll see that in just a second, yeah, taking out the right lane here so this is just after you come off the trenton-morrisville bridge into pennsylvania which a lot of people are doing these days because of the continued closure of the pennsylvania-new jersey turnpike connector bridge. association already extra busy here. now there's a crash southbound one at pennsylvania avenue in morrisville. 95 scudder falls bridge maybe your best bet this afternoon. in hatboro an accidentology moreland avenue at butternut drive. one in upper providence by spring-ford area high school along louis road at spring street. no big issues so far along 422 but on the other area highways like 95 and the schuylkill speeds are starting to slow. let's check this red zone. v56* eastbound starting to bang past the schuylkill out to 95 and we started the

>> ♪ >> the supreme court is handing a transgender teen's case back to a lower court without reaching a decision. the decision voids the appeals court's original ruling that sided with virginia student gavin grimm. the 17-year-old was born female and identifies as male.

he was denied access to the boys' bathroom and was fighting his school's policy. last mol, the trump administration withdrew a policy enacted under the obama administration which allowed students to use the bathroom that corresponds with their gender identity, not with their birth certificate. well, now the appeals court has to decide whether federal law treats gender identity discrimination the same as sex discrimination. the case had been scheduled for argument in the supreme court later this month but now it heads back to a lower not cot in virginia. monica. >> police in florida arrested man they say tried to kill his boss after he got fired for drinking on the job. surveillance cameras captured the entire attack. police say osorio reyes first tried to stab his boss but he fought him off with a rock. reyes ran mendez over in his truck.

amazingly a fences saved him and then reyes made one last attempt. >> to run him over again a second time as he's dragging the complete fence behind his pickup truck. >> how is the victim. >> he's fine. he didn't even call the police. >> after all that, mendez the boss did not press charges. reyes is in jail on charges of attempted murder. new homeowners in texas made an unwelcome discovery, human remains in an attic wall when they moved saturday. police believe the remains may be that of the home's former owner hoop went missing at least two years ago. right now investigators don't know if the person was killed or tripped and fell into that space. >> now a look at the closing numbers on wall street. down this monday afternoon the dow falling 51 points and change back below 21,000t the nasdaq off 21 and half points, s & p 500 falling as well just about eight points on the day. general motors is laying off 1100 workers in michigan and taking the jobs elsewhere.

gm says the cuts are coming to the plant in lance sing because it's moving the productions of the gmc acadia suv to tennessee. now if the lansing plant will stay opened working and two other suv's. workers last day on the job will be mid may. meanwhile gm is adding 800 jobs to that tennessee plant. the first ever house built with a 3-d printer. a russian company says it's the only one to accomplish a feat like this. it took only 24 hours to pour the concrete for that 1100 square foot home. the company calls itself the first to develop a huge mobile printer used for construction. it wants to change the way people think about construction and help people in underprivileged areas. pretty incredible stuff. >> very innovative. >> time. >> for a check of that accuweather forecast. >> let's do it. adam joseph standing by with what we're looking at this week and some snow adam. >> possibly by the end of the week and now in the foreseeable future between now and thursday we're talking about above normal temperatures once again.

taking a live look at spring mountain on sky6 right now you can see the snow machine gun right here, it's actually turning the turbines in there not making any snow, way too warm but they did crank out a bunch of man-made snow as you can see over the weekend covering the slopes up once again. but right now we're 50 in philadelphia, 50 allentown. that warmer air is beginning to push back in p lower 40's along the shore so temperatures should be in the upper 40's this time of year so pretty much sitting exactly where we should be. a lot of sun early on in the dane you saw those high clouds coming in and at times starting to take over the sky especially to the north and west of philadelphia. and you go towards state college and all points to the west. that is where some light showers are beginning to break out in the form of a warm front. we're not tracking any heavy rain to come in throughout the day on tuesday but we are tracking a little bit of wet weather. so, for tonight, some showers develop but very late tonight. closer to midnight up in the lehigh valley and not in southern areas until early

tomorrow morning. but it's a warmer night overall compared to the last few nights. 35 allentown, 39 in wilmington, 40 philadelphia and the same thing for dover. as we look at future tracker6 at 1 o'clock in the morning, a few showers reading allentown, maybe the higher terrain north of the lehigh tunnel you mix in a flake or two with this but overall it is cloudy elsewhere and as we go into the early morning hours of tuesday to start off the workday, the school day, some wet roads north and west of philadelphia, closer to the front drier as you can see to the south and east and then as we get into the afternoon hours tomorrow southern areas may not on see some of these showers by the afternoon. you may try to get a break of sun but the clouds will really dominate here but the showers are long gone so it's really first thing tomorrow morning and as we look at the day planner south-southwesterly winds eight to 16 miles an hour. after that morning round of showers especially in pennsylvania, those temperatures go well into the lower 60's here tomorrow afternoon despite the lack of sunshine and then late in the

day and late in the evening hours there could be a second line coming in with some heavier downpours with an actual cold front. so as we look at that four day at 4:00 forecast, tomorrow 63 degrees. morning showers and then breezy and a lot of clouds. maybe a glimmer of sun here and there. then on wednesday, there could be an overnight thunderstorm tuesday night, wednesday. wednesday itself turning sunny, windy, warm, 63. looks great thursday, a touch cooler at 54 degrees then colder air floods back in on friday. we could have some wet snow mixing with rain early on friday morning. models kind of all over the place as to who sees it, how much. but as you can see temperatures at 41 and then another bitter cold weekend on tap. we'll show you that seven day in the next half hour which also could feature more snow as well. >> all right. >> getting a little in at the end here. >> i'm telling you, march is just -- >> unpredictable. >> that too. >> some of the area's top young chefs getting a chance to learn from their

colleagues. rising stars came together for the philly chef conference. the two day event was hosted by drexel university's center for hospitality and sport management. industry pros had a chance to discuss ideas techniques and keep issues that they are facing. teams of cancer experts are leading a renewed fight against colon cancer in our area tonight. experts from 20 organization including doctors and the politicians came to md anderson cancer center today in camden. they are pledging support for the national 80 percent screening campaign to get eight out of 10 adults screened by next year. that effort, by the way, could save 200,000 lives. >> an ambitious but important effort. nfl fans get ready. we'll explain how you can get an inside look at the draft as they get ready to set up camp in philadelphia. >> right here. a birthday celebration for the ages. >> ♪ five houses in wilmington, delaware have to be torn down now after a weekend fire. fire crews were back at the scene on east 22nd street today trying to find the cause. a k-9 crew was also called in to double-check for any possible victims before demolition gets under way. the fire broke out yesterday afternoon displacing 12 people. it started in one row home and quickly spread to the others. no one was injured here. philadelphia police are searching for three criminals hoop tried but failed to steal from a fast food restaurant. newly released surveillance video shows the suspects pulling up to a chick-fil-a in port richmond last thursday at 4:00 in the morning. two of the men got out of a blue sedan and broke through the front door on the 2300 block of east butler street. once inside, they tried to take the cash register and

smash their way into a safe. but they wound up leaving empty handed. >> recent threats to local jewish community centers are a major concern for new jersey lawmakers. senator cory booker congressman donald norcross and others gathered the the katz jcc in cherry hill this afternoon. the center is one of three in the tri-state area that received a threat last week. in all, nothing dangerous was found but still senator booker says he's concerned because federal security funding for new jersey's religious centers is nonexist tender. nonexist again. >> people who sit dark on the phones calling in terroristic threats we must drown out those voices with our own voices. >> senator booker says south jersey is left out of the federal security funding while parts of north jersey and philadelphia do get the money. >> the state of delaware is cracking down on the use of cell phones while driving during march. that's due to an increase in the number of accidents involving distracted driving during the month. authorities say this accident

>> good afternoon. it's 4:30 and "action news" continues with pope francis having a new message for christians. what he wants the faithful to do with the bible. >> plus, tidying up can be a challenge even without kids but when you add in packed play rooms it can seem impossible. we devoted an edition of what's the deal to surviving spring cleaning with kids. >> what made erin don a mask grab a camera and steal a bit of april's thunder. >> but first 48 hour strike involving delaware county memorial hospital nurses is about to do you mean a close. that doesn't mean they'll be back on the job tomorrow. vernon odom live this afternoon near the picket line. vern, explain now what's this all about, vern? >> reporter: good evening, brian. i will explain. it is day two of the strike for now. that goes on until the evening. no new contract talks even on the horizon here.

but the nurses and other strikers wanted to return to work in the morning but the management says no. not until friday. >> what do we want. >> reporter: nearly 400 nurses and technical employees at delaware county memorial hospital but the union says they will not be allowed to return to their jobs until friday morning because they say of a lockout by management. the issues include alleged staff shortages and cut backs that threaten patient safety. >> since prospect took over staffing has been cut to the bone, yes. austerity measures, i don't know. it's a for-profit institution and they have cut us significantly. >> reporter: union leaders say they wanted to return to their jobs in the morning but they're being hit with a lockout they say by the owners of the o prospect medical holdings. the hedge fund has brought in an area. temporary workers from around the nation to carry the patient load.

but the management says this is not a lockout because they have to give a five day minimum to outside staffing outfit as a condition to get them to come here. the union says, however, this is just a punitive move by prospect. >> they claim that this strike breaking agency will only work in five day increments. i've actually seen this agency work in increments of a day or two in other strike situations so we do believe it's punitive and it's part of a pattern of how this company has been acting toward the nurses since they took over. >> it is surreal. it's something that we didn't want to do. it was with a heavy heart that we decided to do this but we have been negotiating for over a year for a fair contract and they have not been negotiating in good faith. >> reporter: monica, the hospital's management claims tonight that things are going just fine and functioning well inside the hospital despite their seasoned professionals being out here on the sidewalks.

live in drexel hill, i'm vernon odom, channel6 "action news." >> thank you, vern. investigators in montgomery county are still trying to figure out what sparked a destructive plays in upper providence. chopper6 hd over the smoky scene in the 400 block of hollow road at 11 :00 this morning. it took firefighters roughly two hours to get that fire under control. fortunately nobody was hurt but the home was seriously damaged. >> federal investigators are wrapping up a forensic audit this afternoon that could determine who hacked pennsylvania senate democrats. friday's cyberattack left the e-mail system inaccessible and that system is still down as of today. whoever hacked the system used ransom wear crying its victim provide payment to regain access. so far democratic officials say no ransom has been paid but they've not ruled out making any kind of payment. microsoft is also working with the fbi to figure out just what happened here. >> a big congratulations tonight to some men and women in blue who were promoted in north philadelphia today.

these officers were recognized for a job well done as they work every day to keep our city safe. family and friends were also there for the special ceremony at temple university. mayor jim kenney and police police commissioner richard ross swore in the new corporals detectives and. others. congrats. >> brutally cold weekend out there. >> oh, boy. >> the funny thing is it wasn't very, very cold but compared to where we've been. >> where we've been, yeah. >> -- it was a harsh reality. >> today felt nice. >> today felt really nice with those temperatures moving back up. as we take a look right now live on sky6 over center city a lot of clouds have moved in this afternoon but that thermometer up to 50 degrees. we started in the teens on sunday morning. stayed in the 30's all afternoon, so this, yes, feeling a bit better with a southerly wind at 8 miles an hour. in fact, we're 13 degrees warmer this time than we were yesterday afternoon in philadelphia, 16 degrees warmer in lancaster and you can see those numbers go up as you head west so that warmer air continues to come in from the south and west and will that continue to overtake the

>> ♪ >> marines are being investigated for allegedly sharing nude photos of fellow marines on the internet. the ncis has opened an investigation into allegations that a private facebook page called marines united contained a link to a folder with hundreds of naked pictures of current and former female marines. the commander of the marine corps made a statement on his twitter account saying "every marine should give their all to be the best human beings and teammates possible." the pictures have since been removed. >> police in arizona say a trio of teen thieves used their stolen goods as weapons when confronted and all of this is was captured on cram. a surveillance video shows the group walking into a convenience store grabbing several cases of beer. before they could leave the clerk tried to stop them. well that's when the teens got violent throwing the heavy boxes of beer and a display case at the worker. he was not hurt.

county now just off of one the roosevelt boulevard. we still have that fire department activity in northeast philadelphia blocking off grant avenue. shut down in both directions between academy road and frankford avenue and we're hearing that they're even forcing the eastbound traffic off just past the boulevard. so, it's an area to stay away from. if you can stay up on 63, woodhaven road, you'll be better off. on the big picture, since last we spoke there was a crash on the schuylkill eastbound approaching belmont. now pushed off to the side but pretty much a solid line of red traffic flow coming from 202 into that accident scene at belmont. debris on the roosevelt boulevard northbound side near wissahickon. they just got that and pushed out of the way. have a crash to watch out for that's in the process of clearing in plymouth township by lab corp along germantown pike. one in upper merion along henderson road. hatfield township a two vehicle head on wreck along broad street at hidden meadow drive. but down in delaware our crash that we started the afternoon with along highway one northbound at 13, that's gone

wet start to the day throughout our pennsylvania counties and even on the verge of mercer county and trenton. southern areas it starts dry but cloudy tomorrow morning. that band of showers lifts to the north during the afternoon, so it is just cloudy with, again, maybe some spotty sunshine developing tomorrow afternoon and then as we go into the late hours of tuesday night, early wednesday morning, there could be a little thin squall line trying to push through with a cold front early wednesday morning. this is 4 o'clock in the morning. could be a rumble of thunder or some gusty winds as cooler air comes in behind the very warm air tomorrow. associatioso tuesday, the biggee highs off the coast 63 degrees with a few showers but much warmer than today of 63. it stays breezy, windy as that front pushes through again with maybe some downpours or a rumble of thunder early wednesday morning. wednesday itself it stays warm for one day behind this front. so the cold air is going to linger and lack way to the north and west. that comes in and floods in

that late in the week but wednesday it stays bright with a lot of sun of 63 and if we take a look at how much rainfall we're tracking here between tonight and wednesday morning, the healthier amounts again would be to the north and west, maybe up to a half an inch in some of those far northern areas of the lehigh valley but most of the delaware valley only seeing about .10 of an inch of rain. it's not a lot. the exclusive accuweather seven forecast 63 back to back tuesday into wednesday. tomorrow a lot of clouds after morning showers much brighter and windy wednesday at 63 and then 54 so we step it down with a lot of sun on thursday. then on friday cold air comes in from the north. there could be a little ribbon of moisture trying to push through and that could touch off wet snow early friday morning mixing with some rain and then saturday it is cold, it is dry, 36 degrees and we're going to watch a bigger system that could slide to our south or could skirt parts of our area with snow on sunday of 35 degrees and then we warm it back to 40 on monday.

continues tonight after two brothers were gunned down in a car in southwest philadelphia. one did not survive. the other is fighting for his life. monday night, the big story on "action news" is the gunman still on the loose after those siblings were ambushed over the weekend. >> "action news" reporter sarah bloomquist is live at philadelphia police headquarters tonight with more on the investigation. sarah. >> reporter: rick and monica, that's right, right now philadelphia police are trying to identify and track down the shooter who fired into a car wounding one teenager and killing his older teenaged brother. the 16-year-old who survived remains in extremely critical condition. police tell "action news" 19-year-old zibrii davis and his younger brother 16-year-old sibrii had no criminal record. they're unsure why the two became the targets of a gunman yesterday afternoon. >> right now the two young men were not on our radar. we don't know what this is about. >> reporter: police were called out to the 8100 block
