prevented local wireless customers from calling 911. and the jury selection is underway for the accused cop killer that led police on a massive manhunt. but the big story is the chase that left a police cruiser on top of the suspect's car. we know that police found heroin inside of that suv that raced away from an early morning traffic stop. annie mccormick is live with the details. >> reporter: sara there are two troopers in the cruiser involved in the crash and only one of the troopers in the cruiser went to the hospital. it was another trooper that arrived as backup who also had to go to the hospital and luckily they were treated and released. this pennsylvania state police cruiser ended up on top of this

ford explorer during a high speed chase that ended in chester. they initially stopped the suv because it was swerving. >> the driver put the car in drive and proceeded to put the car down 95 with speeds of excess of 90 miles per hour. >> the trooper behind the wheel tried to use a common maneuver to stop the fleeing vehicle. >> it ended up in a crash and the car flipped of as well as our troop car wound up on top of the vehicle but the troopers were able to take both people into custody. >> next to the custody's broken car window investigators found nearly 300 baggies of heroin and a gun with the serial number erased. >> someone going down the highway at 100 miles per hour.

sometimes get in march. not a lot going on out there. locally it's beautiful but a cold front to the north and west pushing down into our direction during the day. rain and snow showers are developing along its face and past midnight we'll be on the lookout for the precipitation to wind up here. the national weather service posted a winter weather advisory that kicked in tonight until noon tomorrow. despite the fact that we expect snow to come down philadelphia and probably get down around millville before it stops. even at points close to the shore could see some wet snowflakes and temperatures in this non-winter advisory area are so above freezing we expect nothing but wet roads and northern montco and reading also remaining wet tomorrow. but the farther north you go through the purple area, the more careful you'll have to be in the morning on roads because of the possibility of a slick spot. by 12:30 in the morning we see the snow moving down, rain at

the outset, 9:30 it passed through philadelphia and beginning to break up and along the way a chance of accumulation especially on grassy surfaces. as we look at the potential amounts of snow, the models coming in and shifting a bit. i think the gsf is putting too much in philadelphia. maybe a coat to an inch. and the rpm high at 1.7. as you go farther north into the lehigh valley. more of a 1 to 3 inch range is more along what we expect. the 4. 9 on the gfs i think is running high. this is on grassy surfaces and the farther north tonight the more careful you'll have to be. cold weekend coming up i'll have that in the seven day. >> thank you. the "action news" morning team will keep you up to speed when the messy weather moves through,

roster moves this morning. they signed torrey smith, who was with the 49ers but released popular linebacker, connor barwin. eagles executive vice president howie roseman thanked barwin for his four seasons with the team and complimented for his class and integrity and his work in the community. but this gives eagles more flexibility to sign free agents like torrey smith. the federal communications system is trying to figure out why some at&t wireless customers were unable to call 911 last night. it was reported in bucks and chester and delaware county. and other states. the fcc says that every 911 call must go through and plan to investigate the the outage.

the new health care plan from republicans have cleared the first huddle. after nearly 18 hours of debate they approved their portion of the bill. janay norman is joining us live in washington with more. >> reporter: the push back against the bill comes not just from democrats but some republicans and some influential health care groups. president trump is in full negotiation mode as they debate that health care bill. an all-nighter on capitol hill as the battle over republican health care forges ahead. >> this is what you come up with? this is a bad joke. one committee going on until 4:00 a.m. another working until dawn and another one a full 24 hours. buckle in until we are done with the amendments. democrats pulling out all the stops doing effect to derail the

vulnerable patients but a group launched a half million tv ad to support the plan. channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. president trump's new travel ban is facing its first legal challenge. the state of hawaii became the first to file a lawsuit. they believe that the ban will hurt the state's muslim population and tourism and foreign students. the court will hear the case on march 15th, one day before the ban is scheduled to take place. and coming up a 21 page dress code for a high school prom. the one guideline that has many students upset. >> and the philadelphia flower show opens this weekend, we'll talk to one company providing the tulips for the grand entrance.

>> and a charter bus and train is prompting calls for safer railroad crossings and the mayor of biloxi is calling an investigation where four people were killed. 35 others were injured at the crossing on tuesday. and the ntsb is investigating the cause of the crash the fourth deadly crash at this crossing in biloxi, the bus was carrying tourists traveling to the gulf coast. and a fire scorched 21 square miles across four states and most of the burned land is in kansas where more than 1,000 square miles were consumed by the flames. and one burning by the board of of oklahoma is the largest in state's history. there are concerns it could reignite.

because is the ground is extremely dry. and moment when two firefighters were injured at a house fire in florida. they were bringing a hose to the front door and were blasted by a back draft if west palm beach. even though they were hurt they went back and finished the job afterwards. the people living in the home got out safely. a private school is drawing backlash for a detailed prom dress code that goes on for 21 pages think the book from boiling catholic high school comes with pictures of what is allowed and what is not. one guideline says that some girls may wear the same dress, but because of body types one may be acceptable and one may not. school administrators says the book is meant to help students not hurt them. radio shack filed for bankruptcy yet again. they filed their petition in bankruptcy court in delaware

a new store in east mown airy. save a lot opened and lots of reads came out to shop store the first time. they are providing jobs and healthy food for the neighborhood. and the flower show opens this weekend for the theme of holland. >> and a husband and wife are forcing all the tulips for the show's entrance garden. >> reporter: walk inside of the chadds ford greenhouse and you'll likely be greeted by a few cats. >> it's oscar and zero. and there are five felines in all in a field of 30,000 tulips ready to burst in a brilliant rainbow of colors. john and ranee are the tulip tenders, using science and technology. >> to get them to a certain point and if they bloom too fast we move them to a cooler place.

forecast. we areds like dramatic and drastic and wacky. >> crazy. >> it is nuts. it's beautiful out there now and stormtracker 6 live double scan shows you a lack of precipitation and as we look outside. we have plenty of sunshine on the action cam in pennsauken and along the river earlier this morning. the blue sky you see in this shot is pretty much what you got in the region. up to 64 degrees already and winds from the west at 21 and it is windy and you'll want a jacket despite the temperature. you can't argue with that number and 60 in allentown and well above average at this hour. 60 degrees in reading and 61 in wilmington and a lot of 65's in dover and millville. and 57 in cape may but that is not bad for this time of year and this time of day. satellite shows you the lack of cloud cover and some from the north and west may clip parts of our northern areas as we go later on into the day and

generally speaking it stays bright, lehigh valley forecast sunny and breezy and we go up to 61 degrees and keep in mind these warm temperatures as he show them to you across the area, they play into what will happen tonight and tomorrow. 58 is the high at the shore and mostly sunny and breezy as well. philadelphia 65 and already at 64 and could go to 66 or something like that. mostly sunny and breezy and winds west at 20 to 25 miles per hour. breezy and pleasant, a great afternoon to go out and get stuff done and overnight tonight the clouds thicken. and we get down to a low below freezing and snow arrives from the north and at midnight the winter weather kicks in in the northern suburbs and we see right after that, between midnight and 5:00 you see the snow built in on the northern areas, through the rush hour 8:00 a.m. the snow line passed

through philadelphia and getting through a good chunk of delaware and new jersey and in the afternoon spotty rain and snow showers. and later tomorrow night 10:00 perhaps it's all over. nothing on the ground but it's too warm at the coast to do anything. and really around philadelphia it looks like probably a coating to an inch and that is only on the grass, roads should stay wet. in the allentown area northern bucks and northern montgomery, and over towards berks, 1 to 3 inch accumulation is possible. and the farther you go in the pink zone the careful i would be for spots. and the poconos 3 inches or more. slippery road conditions there, what to expect wet snow mixing with rain east of philadelphia. and non-pavement accumulation is what we are looking for and the farther north we go the
