have the latest from the northeast extension. and a woman charged in the death of her adopted daughter pled not guilty in court. but the big story on "action news" at noon is the reminder that winter is not quite over yet. wet heavy snow is falling throughout the day so far and once it clears out the bitter cold is settling in. lets get the latest from double scan live radar and melissa magee. >> it's hard to believe we are tracking snow on march 10th but it's cold enough to produce the snow with enough moisture overhead. here is stormtracker 6 live double scan the snow is lightening up for the northwest suburbs but still coming down the i-95 corridor and interior sections of south jersey we go in tighter on street level with stormtracker 6 live double scan and still lavenders an indication of heavy bursts of snow. if you travel along route 72 close to surf city we are picking up the lavender a shade

of heavy snow. glassboro and hammonton and mays landing we are picking up heavier bursts of snow as the moisture departs from a northwest to southeast direction. in berks county huffs church picked up 5.2 inches of snow and south allentown 4.7, and forks township 4.2 and south hammonton an inch of snow. something to keep in mind the visibility is a factor. it's starting to let up a bit for our northwest suburbs, because the snow is racing off to the south and east. we are down to a half mile in the city down to 1.7 miles in toms river and a mile in lancaster. the winter weather advisory stays up until 2:00 in the afternoon for the purple shaded areas and slushy roads are a big concerned. we still have the snow overhead at 2:30 but starts to depart

accident involving seven cars and this is one of two crashes along the same stretch of highway. look at this video on the screen we were able to capture with a cell phone onscene. this is the northeast extension of the pennsylvania turnpike in eastern county. conditions on the roads were manageable and it got progressively worst especially as snow started to fall and that is when traffic came to an abrupt halt if you were caught up in the de is why. agerous domino affect on the highway involving several cars. most of them were banged up and authorities say that minor injuries were reported. we understand that there are still a couple of cars being taken away and residual delays because of this. as for the second accident, i mentioned we are told that two cars were involved in that one, no additional information on

accused of the brutal death of her adopted teenage daughter entered a not guilty plea this morning. 42-year-old sara packer is charged with rape and kidnapping in the death of grace packer. grace's boyfriend jacob sullivan will be arraigned last month. they are accused of dismembering her in july. tens of thousands of drivers are once again able to use the bridge that connects the pennsylvania and new jersey turnpikes the i-1276 bridge reopened last late night after being closed since january. crews were able to fix a fractured support beam and reopen the bridge ahead of schedule. they made the call after they tested the bridge this week. and that section of interstate carries 42,000 vehicles a day. from the nation's capital. the fbi directo summoned to top lawmakers

a suspect is in custody after a terrifying attack in germany. a 36-year-old man began attacking people with an axe, and nine people were injured and the suspect tried to escape police by jumping over an overpass, he suffered injuries and is if a hospital.
