extortion lodged against philadelphia's top prosecutor. da seth williams was indicted today and are be arraigned tomorrow the indictment says williams accepted more than 100,000 in gifts often in exchange for his help in a court case. among the gifts he received trips to the dominican republic with his girlfriend, a custom sofa and 9,000 in cash. we have two reports on our big story tonight action news reporter christie ileto is live outside the da's office in center city but first dann cuellar is at the federal building with details of the indictment today, dann. >> reporter: jim the shock waves from the 50 count federal indictment continue to reverberate and the wide ranging bribery extortion and fraud in exchange for fixing legal problems for two business owners. >> it's hard to imagine a public

servant tasked went forcing the law putting quid proquo above justice for all. >> reporter: seth williams accepted 10s of thousands worth of concealed bribes he received from two men described in document as business owner one and two. >> in the form of money, expensive vacations airline tickets a jaguar xk8 convertible expe expensive furniture. >> reporter: he received from business owners multiple trips to punta-canta dominican republic san diego las vegas and fort lauderdale florida in exchange for him to take official action as needed and in some cases taking official action on behalf of the bribe payers. exchange of text messages which business owner one was requesting a lighter sentence for a friend who didn't want to do jail time and officials say in return williams requested a

vacation by saying quote i am merely a thankful bigger and i don't want to over step my bounds in asking but will gladly go. clearly in this context mr. williams is referring to another trip to punta-canta. >> reporter: requested expensive gifts for himself and girlfriend including a watch and purse a louis vuitton and sofa worth thousands of dollars and tried to pressure a police official to bypass airport security measures on behalf of business owner one returning from travel abroad but he was refused and also alleged that williams pocket money to pay for a close family nursing home care. >> he simply took money that did not belong to him and he lied about it. >> reporter: mr. williams is expected to appear here tomorrow for his arraignment and expected to be here at 2 before medical
