weekend, while they last, they could last forever. >> reporter: it is still march. you will need shorts today and sweater tomorrow and shorts again on monday. let's go outside looking at the center city skyline, nice and quiet this morning and very, very mild. most temperatures already in the 50s. look at this, already 52 in philadelphia. millville, 55. 49 in the poconos, 42 in allentown. dover, 58. 55 in wilmington. uniform we'll not see too much sun today. you'll see a little bit, but clouds will be the general rule. there could be a spotty shower this afternoon as this front right here kind of puts an epidemic to the party tomorrow and switches the winds from southwest to east and cools everything down. remember, the ocean temperature is still in the low 40s be you switch the wind in the easterly direction, the 40s there will rush inland.

croyden. the company manufacturers watertight doors and hatches for ships. it took three hours to battle the fire. good news no injuries were reported. this morning the search continues for a suspect in a heinous crime, a mother and young son were found murdered inside their burlington county home. bob brooks has the disturbing details. >> reporter: it's a murder mystery that has the maple shade neighborhood on edge. >> what kind of monster would do something that at terrible. >> somebody is crazy. >> reporter: in sadness, it's saddening to see a child's life wiped out like that. >> reporter: they want whoever brutally stabbed this death, this mother and son found fast. 38-year-old mother and her 6-year-old boy.

the horrific discovery was made by her husband, a close family said he is picture with his family. that friend said he called him shortly after finding his wife and son in a pool of blood. >> he opened the house and he couldn't, find his wife and son he called honey his son. when he opened the bedroom, he found the two people like that. >> we spoke with two neighbors who live in apartments next to and above the family. they said they were home it was quiet the whole time. >> nothing, didn't say anything at all. >> i didn't hear nothing. >> reporter: they say they were wonderful people, especially the boy. >> he was always happy. >> reporter: 6-year-old kid. >> always happy. >> reporter: no word of a suspect, after a dead mother and son are found, this is something investigators are not taking

lightly. reporting in maple shade, bob brooks, channel 6 "action news." >> it is now 6:07. a philadelphia judge cleared the way for the retrial of monsignor william lynn who was convicted in 2012 of child endangerment for his handling of sexual abuse by a priest. yesterday the judge denied the defense's request to block a a retrial. former penn state president graham spanier is facing up to 5 years in prison. he was convicted for child endangerment for keeping quiet about sexual abuse by sandusky. the mike mcqueary said he saw sandusky molesting a boy. spanier never reported the matter to authorities. a new report said a

pennsylvania highway lost millions of dollars. state police according to the legislative budget and finance committee. lawmakers diverted $200 million from state roads to state police. the state constitution states that motorist fees and fuel taxes are strictly for highway construction repair and safety. e-z pass users will see changes along the pennsylvania turnpike. electronic toll collection equipment will go up. right now when you go through the toll there's a light that let's you know the transponder has been red. they are against federal guidelines, but they will be removed. you might be caught off guard, but keep driving and obey the speed limit. >> we have where president trump stands on the list of

injured a man in beverly burlington county. the victim was shot in the leg after 11:00 p.m. he is recovering in the hospital. police say this is the second shooting at third and liewrl this week not clear -- laurel this week, not clear if the incidents are connected. chopper 6 hd was there as crews put out a house fire in woolwich gloucester county. firefighters were called to the home at 10:30 p.m. the home had serious damage, but no injuries. there's an update on the woman who kidnapped a newborn baby at the king of prussia mall. the suspect was convicted. the judge found her guilty of first degree kidnapping and faces up to 73 years in jail. the 31-year-old woman kidnapped the 7 week old baby from the mall and told her family the baby was hers. a sentencing date has not been set. a homeowner in philadelphia

has his own technology to thank for saving his home from burglars. dann cuellar has the details. >> reporter: a homeowner is at work and gets a text message from his surveillance system that someone is in his home. the technology helped police get there in time to is to -- stop a burglary in progress and nab the burglars in their tracks. the neighborhood has been living on edge due the a rash of burglaries. >> this is not the first time it happened in broad daylight. my next-door neighbor, broad daylight. >> reporter: police say it was another neighbor who was being burglarized except this neighbor had a surveillance system that sent text alert to his phone whenever there's movement and alerts him someone is in the house. >> he activates the camera on his cell phone and sees burglars in the house.

>> reporter: within moments 15th district officers are on the scene. >> some of the males are carrying a tv out the how the, the loot all the bags of stuff they had taken. >> reporter: they jump into a suv and tried to make a run for it and crashed into a parked car. they nabbed three men and woman. >> jewelry, cash and electronics were recovered. they had thrown it from the vehicle and dropped it on the way to the vehicle. some neighbors were amazed with the technology that helped stop the crime in progress. what do you think of this kind of of surveillance system that it's alerts you when you're not home. >> it's worth every penny. he is getting all his stuff back, probably at least over $1,000 in electronics and more in jewelry. >> reporter: the four alleged burglars were being questioned last night.

on city avenue. some locations are close to 60. double scan live for the most part is clear, every now and then we're seeing green show up seeing patchy drizzle south of philadelphia, also running west to east along the mason dixon line. 73 degrees is the temperature we're shooting for. the normal is 56. we're 20 degrees above average. we started out at 49 degrees which is above the seasonal average of 37. look at now, 52 in millville. almost 60 in atlantic city. 55 in cape may. wilmington, 60 degrees. the wider view, we have an upper level low pressure system cut off from the main flow of traffic, if you will, it's not moving all that much. it's spinning its wheels and slow drift to the east over the next four to five days, that means, unfortunately, lots of

clouds in the forecast right through thursday afternoon. every now and then there's drizzle and spotty showers. this is a cold front that will drop down to the south and cool us off tomorrow and lift back to the north as this cold approaches and temperatures are off to the races. we're watching this low here, the front is to the north, the chilly air is to the north and we're in the 70s today. tomorrow all this changes the front drops to the south and stalls out along the virginia capes or the baltimore washington, d.c. metro area. temperatures shift out of the east, tomorrow is a raw, chilly day, temperatures in the 40s, perhaps a little bit of drizzle and isolated shower. not an isolated finish to the weekend. today looks good, mostly cloudy skies limited sun, warm temperatures. there could a spotty from time

started out in southwestern oklahoma and finished in nor'easter oklahoma. it is pulling all the moisture in from the gulf of mexico. it is a slow moving system, in order to clear everything out, the low has to hit the coast. the weather headlines looks like, temperatures will be up and down, unsettled through tuesday, each and everyday there's a chance of spotty showers that have drizzle from time to time. getting back to the temperatures going up and down, a back door front will be sliding through, currently up here in the north pushing through you happen state new york -- up state new york, today we'll be in the 70s. tomorrow, winds shift out of the northeast, it's a chilly day with highs barely getting out of the 40s. >> from our new jersey newsroom, the ocean city boardwalk will have a new look by the end of the month.
