hey, everybody, welcome to instant millionaire week on "who wants to be a millionaire." [cheers and applause] you know, sometimes it can take years to get a chance to play for $1 million on this show, but this week we filled some of the finest hotels in las vegas with qualified contestants. they've passed the test, met the eligibility requirements, and all they're waiting for is a knock on the door. we're going to try to make someone an instant millionaire today. this is gonna be fun. so today, we're starting with caesars palace, where you will find the newest luxurious rooms on the las vegas strip. just a moment ago, we let our next contestant know that they were going to be on the show by knocking on their hotel room door. this is a look. and there she is. >> oh, my gosh. >> that is mary gunnell from provo, utah, a stay-at-home mom with six kids between the ages of 18 months and 13 years old. they're just a little excited.

beautiful family. she'd love to take that family to china with her winnings. all right, mary, let's go. she's got to get to this stage right now. [cheers and applause] here she comes. ladies and gentlemen, welcome mary gunnell. how you doing? >> hello! oh, i am great. i can't believe i'm here. this is so exciting. it's surreal that i'm here right now. >> we knocked on your door, and now you're standing here on the "millionaire" stage. >> wow. >> two things: how shocked are you? and then, two, how excited were you to leave six children and get away from that hotel room? >> you know, my kids are the best thing in my life, so i've-- i hope i win $1 million for them. >> be honest. when was the last time you slept? >> you don't want to know the answer to that question. last night was really rough. but...but, you know, they're worth it. >> and on a serious note, you have really defied all of the odds, just to have those children and to be here on this stage. >> yeah, so, when i was 20 years

old, i was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and it was hypersecreting all these hormones, and they told me that it would probably be a really big risk for me to ever have kids. but it was like a medical miracle. and the tumor's gone, and here i am six kids later and... >> that's incredible. >> i know.
