miserable thursday in the philadelphia area. it is wednesday night. the big story on "action news" tonight, the approach of potentially damaging storms. meteorologist cecily tynan has double scan radar at the big board. >> jim, double scan showing a large and complex storm system affecting us in a big way tomorrow. low pressure south of chicago. that's the main engine for the there are two areas of convection or thunderstorms, one across the southeast. this caused half dozen tornadoes georgia moving southeast. i'm looking at the storms running through chicago and ohio valley moving quickly 50 miles per hour. that's arriving before daybreak tomorrow. future tracker showing 5:30 tomorrow morning, heavy rain, embedded thunderstorms across the region. we have a break in the action with lighter rain, peeks of

sunshine, but that will destabilize the atmospheres. that's about 2:30 and it's the greatest threat of severe weather. as far as rain, an inch or two wouldn't be a big deal but this is the third storm in a week. locally heavily flooding is possible, creeks, streams and rivers. we have a risk of severe weather. the highest risk in the area is new castle county area south and extreme southern new jersey. any storm has the potential for damaging winds, hail and the isolated tornado. we talk about the threats and what's behind it in the full forecast. jim? >> thank you, cecily. the storms pack a powerful punch throughout the south today toppling trees and power line in

>> a community came together to remember three men gunned down in north philadelphia monday. they prayed if are the victims and called for an end to gun violence. they were killed near 11th and stiles. a fourth man remains in critical condition. two men fired 25 shots. a $70,000 reward is offered for their arrest and conviction. >> a 17-year-old accused in eight robberies in philadelphia is now suspected in a murder and another shooting. police arrested ma-king stewart for the shooting of tycheen chandler on the 28th.

one person was seriously hurt in a multi-vehicle crash involving a dart bus today. it happened at 4:30 delaware avenue and dupont street. one driver lost control and slammed into three other cars. one of the drivers had to be cut out of the wreckage and taken to christiana hospital for treatment. >> the world health organization and doctors without borders believe clear reen gas and traces of serren was used in the attack yesterday. victims are showing signs of chemical and gas exposure. the trump administration and other world leaders are holding president rashad responsible. in washington trump said the blame rests with former president obama. >> i think the obama

college recognizing those that contributed to the safety of the community. >> pass over starts monday night but tonight the national american museum of jewish history held a satyr inspired by a similar event 50 years ago. it's called freedom satyr revisited and recalls the original freedom satyr that took place in washington d.c. in 1969. hundreds gathered in a church basement to reflect on a civil right's movement. hundreds of bags of free pass over meals were handed out tonight. this is a long standing tradition at the sip going but this year it takes on special meaning. the congregation was targeted by vandals several times in recent months.
