innocence of a four-year-old child. >> reporter: about two hours later in the cold night air the child largely unclothed was discovered walking out of banning park some 8 miles away in wilmington by a passerby who called police. the child was examined at the hospital and then turned over to her parents. police continue top scour ban -- to scour banning park looking for clues. >> she was observed walking from the tree line of the park area so yes, she was coming from the park. >> reporter: neighbors of the family are deeply alarmed and tried to help last night when word of the kidnapping spread. >> it was very quick apparently from what i heard. she reached out for a piece of paper 'cause he said give this to your mom end snatched her in through the window. >> nothing would do me grader this afternoon have him in handcuffs and led away in hell so that he can -- and held so that he can face the consequences of his actions. >> reporter: the police

commander expressing the outrage that many feel around here today in the wake of this crime. monica police are asking for the public to send them or give them any relevant video they find about that black sedan with tinted windows. they have no license plate information at this point. live in wilmington, i'm vernon odom channel6 "action news." >> thank you vernon. now let's take you live to center city where a protest is that under way right now against america's missile attack on a syrian air force base. the action cam near philadelphia city hall this is where the demonstrators are rejecting president trump's action last night calling it an escalation of war. meantime in washington many members of congress are demanding answers. the president says the move was meant to send a message to syria after that government allegedly attacked its own citizens with chemical weapons. now some lawmakers say they should have been consulted first. abc's kenneth moton with more from capitol hill. >> today members of congress asking the trump

rawlins spent the day with allentown's syrian community who also have that plenty of questions about last night's attack. our coverage continues with that part of the story coming up tonight at 6:00ly. >> neil gorsuch is preparing to be sworn in as the newest member of the u.s. supreme court. his nomination was confirmed today after an historic rule change in the senate. >> the nomination of neal m. gorsuch of colorado to be an associate justice of the eme court of the united states is confirmed. >> yesterday republicans invoked the so-called nuclear option changing the number of votes needed to clear the path for gorsuch's nomination. gorsuch will fill the vacancy left by the death of justice antonin scalia. he'll likely be sworn in next week. >> philadelphia police are hoping surveillance video can help them catch the person who robbed and shot a man overnight. happened near the corner of wyoming avenue and north fourth street in feltonville. the victim had just withdrawn

cash from an atm. "action news" rep jeanette reyes has more. >> reporter: a manhunt is under way for the suspects who shot their victim near this atm even after he had turned over the money. >> it is very dangerous to take money at night advertisement many residents waiting for the bus at fourth and wyoming say although there are atms conveniently placed on every corner of this intersection most times they feel it's just too risky to withdraw cash. have you ever taken money out. >> no ma'am. i go straight to the bank. >> reporter: early this morning, two men experienced what many around here fear. philadelphia p past midnight a 26-year-old man and his friend got off the bus and withdrew money from an atm. that's when they were approached by two men armed with a gun. they demanded the money about $250. the victims handed it over and as the suspects fled, one turned around and fired the gun hitting the 26-year-old in the back. >> police rushed him to temple

hospital where he's presently in stable condition. he's being treated by doctors. he is expected to survive. >> reporter: the victims told police at the suspects ranouthbound on fourth street. they weren't captured on this nearby business' camera but you can see multiple police officers responding minutes afte inc >> that's pretty bad especially since i come back home. >> reporter: there are several surveillance cameras in this area. police say they will be reviewing all of that footage. anyone with information is encouraged to contact authorities. reporting in feltonville jeanette reyes channel6 "action news."mer vice president joe biden returned to his alma mater this afternoon. [cheers and applause] he was greeted by the university of delaware pep band the spirit team and hundreds of screaming students. earlier this year mr. biden launched the biden institute. it is a research and policy center focused on developin public policy solutions on a range of issues. biden says his sister valerie will help run the institute.

>> turning no to you accuweather and the sunny weekend ahead for our area. as we look live outside sky6 hd showing you the ben franklin bridge. not a lot of sunshine today but the weekend is going to be different. for the most part actually we had -- it was a little damp and dreary for your first friday of april but a pleasant change is in store for the delaware valley. meteorologist adam joseph is in for cecily tonight. he has more on that forecast. >> yeah, rick, this is all in response to that low which passed through yesterday with the heavy rain and strong gusty thunderstorms. clouds and a little ribbon of moisture in the northwestern suburbs that will bring a round of rain into the city of philadelphia within the next half hour. as we look at the wind gusts today, that also kind of drove right through us. 37 in philadelphia, clocking in the same for allentown 36 miles an hour in wilmington and near 40 miles an hour down the shore and those winds very chilly in fact wind chills right now in the low 40's for philadelphia just 39 in washington 20's for

>> baseball is back in south philadelphia. the action cam was at citizens bank park as the phillies put the final touches on the field before today's home opener. >> meantime plenty of fans of course were on hand for the phillies first home game of the year. katherine scott was with them in the middle of all that excitement. >> this is our 18th consecutive year together.

the forecast. how are we looking. >> big b great. we have all those clouds, chilly winds feeling more winter like out there and a few showers as well as we look live on sky6 from the temple university camera there it is shaking a little bit. we get rid of the clouds for the upcoming weekend. you can see this last band of showers coming into the northwestern suburbs working their way along the pennsylvania turnpike throughout chester as well as eastern lancaster county and now working towards the split of the schuylkill expressway, the blue route and the northeast extension. and this could work towards that phillies game where there could be a couple sprinkles there passing by. as we look at the winds they've been out of that westerly direction 21 miles an hour philadelphia, 23 in wilmington, 22 in dover right now sustained at 22 in reading with gusts today over 30 miles an hour and that's driving how it feels way down into the 30's right now in all northwestern suburbs like 37 in allentown specifically in lancaster, 36 degrees, 42 for philadelphia and we match that

number along the shore line. satellite and radar there was a few again showers early on today. there were a few breaks of sun briefly but any breaks quickly filled back in with that cloud cover and this is the last little spoke of energy now passing through and then we'll start to break up that cloud cover overnight. gradual clearing. the winds will continue to whip up tonight and the be with us throughout the day tomorrow sustained still 12 to 25 miles an hour and tomorrow you can still expect gus of 30 plus during the. we are going to go back into the 50's. we are going to see sunshine so there is gradual improvement here tomorrow but those winds definitely will still make it feel a bit on the coolish side. if you're heading down to the union game tomorrow evening 7:00 p.m. it will be mainly clear. the winds will start to relax during the evening hours tomorrow with temperatures right around 50 degrees from the start to the finish of the

his laptop. and victims of abuse will still have a safe place to seek refuge in philadelphia. >> shoppers strolling along a busy retail area of stockholm sweden had only seconds to react as a stolen beer truck raced towards them. and then a loud crash billowing smoke and dozens of people run frightening scene and tonight four people are dead 15 others in the hospital after what is being considered a terror attack. abc's stephanie ramos liveork with the latest for us. >> reporter: monica, horrifying day in sweden. one witness says he saw a truck going 30 to 40 miles per hour approaching crowdnning them over. chaos tern after a driveck into a crowd of people. then crashing it into andepartment store in the heart authorities say the driver highjacked the beverage truck while it was being unloaded nearby sped off down a long st road ramming anything in its path. >> you could actually see bodies flying on the street

and i could see police covering the bodies with an orange blanket. >> reporter: the attack sparking mass pan trick people seen here run and from the area. stockholm's main train station evacuated. >> there was moodod -- blood everywhere. police say nearly a dozen people lay on the ground hurt.ce officers now patrolling the streets from the ground and in the air. as swedish authorities look to question this man seen in the area at the same time of the attack. the swedish government calling this a deadly terror attack. apparently getting treated for an injury he suffered in jail. frein could face the death sentence if convicted. corporal bryan dickson was killed in the 2014 ambush and trooper alex douglass was injured. now take a look at this surveillance video of an armed robbery in west oak lane. it happened last night at the new shop express in the 6900 block of old york road. the suspect grabbed an employee held a gun to his head forced him to the ground and then demanded money. a second worker behind the counter handed over cash from the register. the gunman then stole a wallet from the victim who was still lying on the floor. if you know anything about this crime you are asked to call police. >> well, victims of child sexual abuse in philadelphia will that continue to have a safe place to go. this morning leaders from the police department human services and the district attorney's office visited philadelphia children's alliance in hunting park. they announced the continuation of their panership. >> i can't say enough about

little stripe that continues to pass through philadelphia, trenton, down to gibbstown and woodbury. there you can see a little stripe along the schuylkill expressway and also down in south philadelphia at the philadelphia phillies game for our home opener this afternoon getting a little wet and windy and kind of a dreary end to the week. but we'll brighten up the mood here as we take a look at the action cam along kelly drive. yeah, a lot of clouds today but in fairmount park you can see those cherry trees really starting to pop and they will look beautiful with the contrast of that pink against that blue sky this upcoming weekend. winds have been gusting all day and at the present time still gusting 32 miles an hour in philadelphia. near 40 in wilmington. clocking in close to 30 in reading. same thing for millville 32 miles per hour in cape may and the winds will ease a little bit overnight but they'll still stay up enough that's that it's going to add quite a chill in the air once the sun sets. in fact wind chills right now in the 30's to the north and west. 20's up in the poconos.

40 trenton, 41 in millville and lower 40's along the shore. satellite and radar that big low spirals in northern new england unsettled weather closer to the center of the low. a spoke of energy where a couple have been passing through here today locking in the clouds despite a little pop of blue here and there and also a few of those showers drifting by. brisk chilly tonight gradual clearing, 33 to 36 for the overnight low but winds sustained 12 to 25 miles an hour. and on our saturday, bright blue sky, mostly sunny temperatures going back into the upper 50's but it's still going to feel a bit chilly with that northwesterly wind. still at speeds of over 30 miles an hour at times so if you're heading to the phillies game tomorrow evening mostly clear and the winds will start to relax. your first pitch temperature at 54. the ninth inning at 50 degrees and basically at the same time we also have the philadelphia union in town and pretty much the same temperatures for them as well.

spring chill today with that that dip in the jet stream but that low finally going to fall apart. high pressure works off the east coast late this weekend early next week that pulls the jet stream back to the north and this kind of pumps some warm air from the southwest. in fact, 15 to 20 degrees above average as we get more summer-like temperatures here at the beginning of next week. the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, 58 tomorrow but that gusty wind 68 less winds on sunday. and that sunshine dominates monday and tuesday temperatures in the 80's both days in fact record tying here on tuesday of 84 degrees. there could be a little ribbon of showers tuesday night with a cold front and it drops temperatures a little bit but still above average wednesday of 72. 60's on thursday, partly sunny and then good friday a possible shower coming through but it doesn't look like heavy rain at this point of 64 degrees so that finally we're getting a seven-day forecast that's looking really nice and we're not tracking
