under the overpass. the fire was put out, but there's concern it may have caused structural damage. the police closed down the admiral wilson boulevard between the baird boulevard and the flanders boulevard overpass. shortly after arriving at the scene, police found a 52-year-old man with burns to his body near 11th and linden avenue. he was taken to the temple hospital burn unit. so far no word ons condition. on his condition. we'll keep you posted on air and 6abc.com. world leaders praised president trump's actions after he ordered an airstrike on a syrian air base. hours aft strike, syria was back in the air taking off from the same base that was bombarded by the missiles. we have details on the strike

and images. >> reporter: new satellite images reviewing the full extent of the heavy bombardment in central syria. syrian officials gathered to survey the damage walking through the rubble and charred vehicles. drone footage showed the aftermath of the overnight attack that destroyed aircraft and hangars and bunkers and air dwebs -- air defense system. 6 syrian soldiers were killed. in total 59 tomahawk cruise missiles were launched from two u.s. navy warships in the eastern mediterranean sea. it was from this base the syrian army stored and launched an airstrike with a cmicaan, a nerve agent that was dropped on civilian in a province that was held by rebel forces.

damascus and jordon and lebanon and within a month they will be in europe. >> reporter: it would be chaos. >> all over the area not just syria. >> reporter: the protesters believe assad may be flawed, but it's a better option for their family members still living there. stay with "action news" for the update on the strike on syria and 6abc.com and facebook and twitter. 89:05 a.m., a man was trapped inside a vehicle after a crash on i-95 in southwest philadelphia. it happened overnight. pennsylvania state police say it happened at 3:00 a.m. on the southbound lanes south of island avenue. they tell us the 29-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road and the car overturned. firefighters worked for 20 minutes to free him from the car. crews took him to hanheman hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

three people were injured in this fairmont crash. the driver of a ford mustang lost control right near ferry road on kelly drive. you can see the damage there. police tell "action news" the car was speeding and overturned several times. we know three people were taken to temple hospital one in critical condition. kelly drive was closed in both directions as crews investigated. this morning a family is trying to he'll and a delaware community is outraged after a 4-year-old girl was kidnapped and sexually assaulted. local state and federal authorities searching for the person responsible for this. dann cuellar has the latest. >> reporter: new castle county along with delaware state police and the fbi are working around the clock to develop leads on the sexual predator and find out where he is. last night they may have found new leads, our camera was there. this was the scene near the site of the abduction at the village of plum run in new new castle

county. officers discovered suspicious tire tracks left by someone trying to make a quick getaway, he made a u-turn driving off the road on to the grass leaving behind a muddy mess and tire tracks. police made a mold of the tracks to take back to the lab and figure out what kind of tire it is and what kinds of vehicles use them. police are promising to leave no stones unturned. >> the stopping and apprehending this heartless monster, does only word i can think of, monster. >> reporter: police were on heavy patrol in the 4800 block of sugar plum court, the 4-year-old was playing with friends when she was abducted by a white or hispanic male in a dark colored four door sedan with tinted window. >> he reached out a piece of paper and said give this to your

mom and she was snatched through the window. >> reporter: two hours later 8 miles away, the child was discovered largely unclothed walking near the roadway. she was taken by ambulance to the hospital where it was learned she had been sexually assaulted. >> nothing worse than to sexually abuse and take the innocence of a 4-year-old child. >> reporter: authorities were combing through the park in grid-like fashion looking for evidence and looking for surveillance cameras that may have captured the predator and his car. >> i have cameras outside the house, but i don't have them recording on the dvr. i don't have anything for them to see. i was hoping i did, but i didn't. >> reporter: with the predator on the loose, a warning being issued by authorities which would seem to be common sense, keep your eye on your child at all times when they are outside. dann cuellar channel 6 "action news." >> time 9:08 a.m., a man was

found guilty in the death of a good samaritan in wilmington, delaware. calvin hooker was convicted of murder yesterday found guilty of stabbing and killing 27-year-old thomas cotingham in rodney square in 2015. he stepped in when he noticed hooker was chasing a woman pushing an infant in the stroller. hooker was found guilty, but mentally ill of second degree murder. he faces 21 years to life in prison. pennsylvania state troopers revealed in court what they found in eric frein's bedroom during the murder investigation. they found an army manual called sniper training and employment, plus, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, eric frein on child for the ambush that killed one trooper and injured anoth things are looking up for the atlantic city casinos. gross operating profits se by more than 7%

pittsburgh firefighters to the hospital. ment porch collapsed on them as they try to enter the burning home. firefighters injuries were not life threatening, the home was abandoned. a neighboring home was damaged forcing that family into a shelter. the cause of the fire still under investigation. police in stockholm sweden arrested a man involving an attack with a stolen truck. four people died and dozens others injured. swedish authorities called it an act of terrorism. 39-year-old man uzbekistan born man was arrested in connection

rushed them to the hospital. the boat over turned in delaware county. this happened at 7:00 a.m. the person's condition at this point is not known. there was a fishing tournament happening near the scene of the capsize, but it's not clear if the boat and victim were part of the tournament. police in montgomery county investigating a shocking death. they believe a cyber bullying response may have pushed a 9th grader to suicide. police are trying to determine what if any charges will be filed in the case. "action news" reporter, jeff chirico with the story. >> it's a tragedy that has rocked our community. >> reporter: grief counselors were on hand at spring ford high school where the 9th grade student attended. as news of her death spread many left school early, hundreds gathered to grieve at a nearby church where ministry leaders say the 9 grader volunteered every sunday to help younger church members. >> this is how big a heart she has and how special she is

serving god and the people around her. >> reporter: police are investigating whether cyber bullying may have driven the girl to take her own life. the victim received this text from a fellow student we can only read it because -- read only one part because it's so vulgar. >> cyber bullying is an issue all kids of facing. >> reporter: cyber bullying is a common thread in a lot of teen suicides. she encourages parents to be alert and involved. >> have one to three trusted adults you can go to with concerns, things in your life that are hard. >> reporter: spring ford superintendent released a statement which reads our thoughts are with the family as they struggle to make sense of the tragedy. we encourage our school community to care for one another as we copy with the loss of a young -- cope with the loss

of a young life. >> we'll have another vigil to honor her. we want to be supportive, we want people to know there are people here to listen. >> reporter: the school district will have grief counselors on hand today from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the 9th grade auditorium. this morning, president donald trump praising the confirmation of neil gorsuch as the next supreme court justice of the united states. he was confirmed yesterday and will be sworn in as the 113th justice on monday. separate ceremonies at the court and then at the white house. justices are required to take two oaths, one by the constitution and one set by federal law. gorsuch's nomination came after the republicans used the so-called nuclear option doing away with the need for 60 votes. gorsuch was confirmed with the

satellite and radar the other thing you'll notice is a lot of sunshine with the warmer temperatures that's all thank tr control of the weather pattern. it becomes the dominant feature in the weather pattern. off to e southeast, our winds shift out of the southwest. we get all the warm stuff here lifted north into the northern tier states. great lakes, mid atlantic skyrocketing into the 70s and 80s. future tracker 6 we'll set it ik about. we have showers in the high plains, outside of that most of the eastern half of the united states is crystal clear. today, tomorrow, monday, we get into t falls a part. there can be a shower tuesday night into wednesday morning, it will be brief. otherwise that falls a part and goes away. the weather pattern is quieter than what we saw over the last seven days.
