we expect to remain so for the rest of the day and don't have to worry about the showers until tomorrow morning. 73 degrees in philadelphia. 76 in allentown and 75 in trenton and 76 in reading, and down closer to the coast we are once again cooler, because you see the air coming in off the cool water, 60 in cape may and shore communities get a chance to getting up close to 70 or so. as we roll through the rest of the day, 80 by 2:00 and that is your high today. 84 at 4:00, and if we hit that, it will tie the existing record in philadelphia set back in 1887, 81 at 6:00 and by 8:00 still holding on into the mid-70s. it will be a while before we cool down, several records may fall. philadelphia maybe a record tier and allentown in range with the high of 84.

accused cop killer, eric frein entered a sixth day. prosecutors say that frein killed byron dirk son and wounded alex douglas. we are learning more about the man behind the murder-suicide inside of an an person elementary school yesterday that claimed the life of an 8-year-old student that eric anders checked into the front desk saying he needed to drop something off for karen smith, his estranged wife and a teacher at the school. he entered the classroom and opened fire. a 9-year-old student that also hid behind her was injured and ander his a history of weapons and domestic violence and possible drug charges. people were surprised when

the coast guard rescue aid stranded beach goer stranded in oregon. and a survival technician was lowered down to him. the man was clutching a rope from a rock face and that was previously set up to aid people stranded by high tide and the coast guard said the rescue was treacherous due to high tide, rain and hail. >> we are talking sunshine today and plenty of it. david murphy is here now. how are we doing as far as records? >> we are getting close but if we set records it probably won't be until 4:00 this afternoon. as we take a look outside we have sky 6 hd. i should say stormtracker 6 live double scan and we are looking at dry conditions, on the action cam earlier all the sunshine splashing on the side of the municipal building there and in the shadow of another skyscraper

and temperatures are rising. 73 in philadelphia and the wins are out of the west-southwest. winds 8 miles per hour a bit of a gentle breeze. 75 in trenton and reading and now that time of year where the high is later in the afternoon, we have a lot of room to grow the numbers and we are expecting to go up another 10 degrees in most of these areas. cape may cooler because you are getting that cool draw off the chilly ocean water. satellite shows you that the clouds to the west are not able to make a run at all. lots of sunshine in place and later in the afternoon you get a streak of high cloud cover and it looks like yesterday, you'll wind up pretty bright the ref of the way. and showers on the other side of pittsburgh and some of that stuff make its overnight tonight and into early tomorrow morning. for now though, up in the lehigh valley, 84 is your daytime high. than ties a record if we hit it. the shore 76 and sunny and
