this terrible accident? >> reporter: well, jim, the latest is the police have formally identified the two people who died in the collision that occurred just before 8 o'clock this morning. they have also interviewed the driver who survived. he is the husband of the 40-year-old who perished. police now believe the driver of the beige expedition was attempting to overtake slower traffic passing on the right but not seeing the parked 18-wheeler in the right lane. the impact was heard more than a block away. >> like a big loud noise. it was like boom. >> reporter: the suv hit with such force a portion of its glass and sheet metal embedded in the rear of the trailer. police have that identified the dead as 40-year-old marshye flowers the driver's wife from north philadelphia. and family friend 25-year-old asia nicole holland of the 8500 block of luther place in southwest philadelphia. police say the tractor-trailer was legally parked in the outer lane of the roadway. parking is permitted except

for a few p.m. hours. >> right here you can see the sign says know stopping from 4p to 6:30 and so the truck at this point was legally parked. my truck enforcement guys are going through the truck to make sure everything was legit on it. the truck driver was not in the parked truck. he told us he was taking a federally required rest break and was at a nearby motel. as police secured purses and other personal items from the wreckage neighbors not surprised by the crash telling us outer lane parking on the boulevard and drivers ignoring the speed limit are a bad mix. >> 'cause they allow cars to park in the boulevard. why? i don't understand it. >> reporter: add to that while the speed limit is 40 people tend to drive faster. >> nobody does 40. everybody goes up to 55, 60. >> reporter: well, we don't know the speed of the vehicle in this particular deadly incident this morning. however, a.m. determination will be likely past investigation but police as we said believe after speaking to the driver who did survive the crash, that he was trying

overtake slower moving traffic when he hit the parked truck. live in feltonville, john rawlins channel6 "action news." jim. >> thank you, john. a suspected drug dealer is facing criminal homicide charges for a man's deadly overdose in montgomery county. 44-year-old angel leon is charged with drug deliver resulting in death which carries a penalty equal to third degree murder. authorities say leon sold heroin and fentanyl to 52-year-old roger korfman. hours later he was found dead of an overdose. today police seized 13 bundles of heroin a gun and crash -- cash from leon's philadelphia home. sexual abuse charges against two airmen stationed at dover air force base. 25-year-old dalian washington and akeem beazer have been detained pending trial. investigators say in august washington met a 15-year-old girl who ran away from home

and offered her a place to stay. he allegedly snuck her into the military base where she had sex with both washington and beazer on numerous occasions. the air base says it is cooperating fully with the investigation. last night we told you the story of a so-called girl gang assaulting two teenagers as they left a carnival in the hunting park section of philadelphia. well, they have now boosted security with extra police there tonight hoping to prevent any more attacks. "action news" reporter vernon odom is live on the scene. vernon. >> reporter: jim, this carnival was up and running at full tilt on this friday night. as you can see behind me that violence against some patrons leaving the park has generated more security than area. the teen gang behind the attack is threatening more violence for this weekend. by the hundreds families and children have lined up for the

two-dollar admission tickets to the neighborhood carnival tonight. thousands have been turning out all week. this was the violent scene captured on cell phone video or eerie street outside the carnival grounds tuesday night as a pair of teens on their first date was leaving. they were brutally assaulted by mob of at least a dozen females and males. it occurred very near the 25th district police headquarters. >> they were just hitting me pulling my hair, punching, stomping on me. it was boys and girls hitting me. >> i was getting stomped and the videos that are uploaded that are everywhere around instagram and facebook, you see that i get up and i keep running to her trying to get everybody off of her rather than myself but ironically she still ends up getting hurt more. >> the victims told police the attack was completely random. they were treated at the hospital for various injuries. police are scouring this video and others they've gathered looking to identify and arrest the attackers. police and the owners of this carnival have beefed up

security inside and outside the grounds in the wake of tuesday night's violence. the carnival which is owned by a scranton company has come here every spring for six years without serious incident. and they don't want this to tarnish their reputation. >> we've ramped it up since the other day. we doubled it our local security and we doubled up police efforts on the weekend and busier days. >> jim, this beefed up security which includes armed private agents and the philadelphia police department will that continue through the carnival's run which is next weekend april 23rd. live in hunting park, i'm vernon odom channel6 "action news." >> thank you, vernon. pennsylvania governor tom wolf is reiterating his call for the immediate resignation of philadelphia district attorney seth williams. williams is charged with 23 federal counts and his law license has been suspended in that bribery case. well, today the governor issued a statement. it says in part, it is clear

that williams' focus should be on his defense and the it is beyond time for him to step down immediately. police are warning cyclists to stay vigilant following three violent bank robberies, make that bike robberies in south philadelphia. the crime spree began tuesday evening when a large group of teenagers assaulted a man and stole his bike on the 800 block of mifflin street. less than two hours later a 10-year-old boy was pushed to the ground and robbed of his bike on the 1900 block of south third. and then yesterday a 13-year-old boy wall and targeted was targeted near eighth and tasktory. police are still looking for suspects. it is not every day that you see a horse galloping alone through the streets of philadelphia without a rider on its back but it happened today and "action news" reporter gray hall has the story. >> reporter: a little country life came to the big city friday morning. philadelphia police officers temporarily took on the role of cowboys as they tried to

corral a runaway horse. >> running down the street. it was literally like hall trotting. i couldn't believe that he didn't jump the sidewalk and come this way. he actually stood in the street. >> reporter: witnesses say it was almost an unbelievable story to share with coworkers. some pulled out their phones and recorded the excitement. >> all of us enjoyed it actually. i told my boss look there's a runaway horse outside. >> reporter: the wild ride for big momma the horse started just before 7:30 when she escaped the stable at fletcher street urban riding club in the city's strawberry mansion section. someone forgot to lock the stable door and when another owner came in big momma took off. >> i was asleep. somebody said it was a loose horse. >> reporter: it ended several miles away along richmond street. chopper6 was above the scene reportedly officers were able to use carrots to calm the animal down and get her into the trailer and return her home. >> i'm just glad she didn't get hurt or hurt anyone in the

some of us. as we look at the highlights here's your saturday planner as we get into tomorrow. temperatures will be holding near that lower 60 to mid 60's range anywhere from late morning right through the afternoon and if you notice the icons, you see a lot of clouds. there will be a lot of clouds tomorrow as a warm front starts to arrive. that's what's going to usher in the warm air the second half of the weekend but we'll try to pop sun both in the morning and late afternoon hours tomorrow but we're not looking at any rain throughout the day on saturday. then for easter, the second highlight, when you take a look at easter over the last 20 years, again, easter will vary whether it's in march or april but the warmest that we looked back for the last 20 years was back in 2011 on april 24th of 84 degrees. the coldest easter was april 8th in 2007 and we are forecasting 85 degrees so we could break that 2011 by 1 degree. near 70 right now in the lehigh valley. 66 trenton. same for wilmington.

60 in dover. it's cooler there. wind coming in off the bay and right along the shore and even as far inland as almost hammonton temperatures in the 50's right now with that ocean of just 52 degrees. when we look at satellite and radar, not much happening across the lower 48 which is great for everyone this weekend. a little bit of wet weather near chicago but no severe weather. this is low pressure that heads to the north and you can see all the cloud cover in the ohio and tennessee valley. that's along the warm front that again, arrives tomorrow. so, for tonight it's mostly clear and seasonable, 41 in the suburbs, 47 degrees for center city, southeast wind three to six. here come the clouds 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon and again you may try to capture a hint of sun here and there at times but then that front goes away and on sunday morning, many folks leaving sunrise services by that 8 o'clock hour and there will be brilliant sunshine and temperatures will already be off to the races first thing in the morning. 61 degrees at sunrise and then by midday already trying to

close in at 80 degrees and a touch of summer in the afternoon with hazy sun of 85 and there could be a very late thunderstorm with the front on easter. that would be very late in the evening and then behind it high pressure comes in on monday, drops temperatures just a tad back into the middle 70's. the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, 60's tomorrow. again, heavy clouds. some limited sunshine and then that sunshine is back, 85 summer warmth on sunday and then plenty of sun behind that and pleasant 74 monday and still looking great here tuesday, more seasonable at 67 and then a few showers at times wednesday going into the day on thursday but not a big system or any heavy rain at this point. temperatures again remain above normal and then it's dry a week from now, partly sunny at 69 degrees. and again a lot of people on twitter and facebook telling me they have their burgers ready and they're going to take the ham and slice it up and cook it on the grille sunday. >> that's good. thank you.
