the delaware bay region you get into cape may you had a couple of showers an hour ago. most of the sunny skies off to the northwest. wider view shows activity building out here where the cold front is. for us, it will hold off until after 8:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m. easter sunday looks fabulous. 11:00 a.m. we're up to 77 degrees, mostly sunny skies, by 1:00 p.m., 82. 3:00 p.m., 83. by 5:00 p.m., that should be 84 not a 64. sun and clouds shooting for a high of 85. when i come back in just a few minutes we have cooler changes. that's probably the high two days from now. i'll have the details in the seven-day forecast coming up in just a bit. >> a 24-year-old woman was died after shooting in the kensington section overnight. police tell "action news" the gunfire broke out at 1:00 a.m. in the 700 block of east tillton

street. she was shot in the chest and taken to temple university hospital where she died a short time later. no arrests, but police recovered a hundred gun at the scene. a shooting at a popular nightclub in fishtown sent a person to the hospital. a 26-year-old man was shot once in the leg. he was taken to hanheman hospital in stable condition. what sparked the shooting remains a mystery no arrests have been made. 9:02. three people looking for a place to stay after being forced out of their homes from an overnight fire. the fire started in the basement of a home lincoln avenue gloucester township after midnight. there was expensive damage to the home. it took less than an hour for crews to get control of the fire. red cross is helping the three individuals displaced. the cause is under investigation. a rowan police officer recovering after being hit by a

car in gloucester county, new jersey, this happened before 10:00 p.m. mullica hill road in glassboro. the officer pulled 0 over a different vehicle when he was hit. officials tell "action news" the driver did stop. the unidentified officer was taken to cooper with serious injuries, but we are told he is responsive. >> a grandmother and we are grandchild were rushed to the hospital after being run down by a dirt bike in upper darby. it happened after a police chase in philadelphia and the violence did not stop there. annie mccormick has the story. >> reporter: both scrims went to the hospital. the grandmother to pren -- penn presbyterian and the young child to chop. upper darby police have a person of interest in custody. however, no charges have been announced. >> he hit both of them they went flying in the air. he fell off the bike. >> reporter: this is the dirt bike that plowed into a pack of people in upper darby striking a

grandmother and child. the dirt bike driver didn't stop there. >> the guy jumped off the bike and carjacked a car trying to getaway, the cops was right behind him, i hope they got the guy, the girl was stillless nobody knows if she was all right. >> the priority of -- operatorf the motor vehicle gets off it, pulls a knife out and carjacks the vehicle and takes off with the vehicle. >> reporter: philadelphia police confirm a detail looking for illegal dirt bikes and atv riders were trying to pull over the suspect, but terminated the brief pursuit. the driver went into upper darby, he dodged traffic zipping through, authorities are thankful more people were not injured, considering adults and children were heading inside the tower theater. >> we have 1500 to two thousand

we'll here from the ambassador from the republic of korea and hrchlts -- h.r.mcmaster right here at 10:30 a.m. a fire started after 6:30 p.m. on abbey lane in lansdale. crews say one person was trapped inside the home and later died at the hospital. neighbors say the victim is karen mavin. they say her son ran to the house next-door when the fire started. >> he came to me saying call 911. >> he was very upset, he could not go inside. >> reporter: while the police did not release anything about the investigation, a neighbor says gas cans were found inside the home.

>> 9:08. this morning septa police arrested a man they say vandalized two septa police cruiser in north philadelphia. officers say it happened near the intersection of broad and glenwood. the suspect spray painted the side of the vehicles with the blue paint. septa police arrested a man identified as 20-year-old dorian murray. >> today is easter sunday, but people started celebrating early this weekend. >> two, one! >> and they are off, these youngsters in cherry hill, new jersey, gathered as many easter eggs as possible. the hunt was held on the cherry hill west high school football field. across the river in chester, pennsylvania, it was a similar scene. the city has three easter egg hunts in three different locations. altogether there were 3,000

68 in millville. 69 in dover. wilmington, 67. atlantic city, 71. 61 in the poconos. 64 in allentown. if there's going to be any complaint at all it will be this. the winds will pick up this afternoon. right now they are stained 10 to 15 miles per hour. we could see gusts 30 to 35 miles per hour later this afternoon. so it will be a bit breezy from time to time. it's all in advance of a cold front that's approaching from the northwest. lots of clouds and showers across the ohio and tennessee valleys most of us that will stay west of the viewing area today. later this evening, a couple of showers could march in here afternoon 7:00 p.m. tonight. future tracker 6, late morning we're looking at mostly sunny skies, a nice morning around the delaware and lehigh valleys. by afternoon, sunny south and east, clouds and sun, north and west. we hold everything off until after 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m.

in the russian-bo live yan >> reporter: welcome back everyone, 9:23 a.m., sunday morning. temperatures across the country you can see we have a dividing line here. much cooler to the north and west, much milder to the south and east. the front is here, everything north of the line temperatures are colder. south and east they are warmer. 67 in raleigh, 70 in in jacksonville. that will slide east, but it will take 24 to 36 hours to do so so. normally this is a bad position for an area of high pressure especially during the summer months this will become a heat pump high you get a southwesterly breeze you talk about highs in the 90s and feels-like temperatures close to 100. fortunately this time of the year, the jet stream is pretty sponge. the jet is that rib ribbon of air at 15,000 feet that pushes everything along the top of the

terminal experience and shopping and dining offers for travelers. john rawlins has the details. >> reporter: philadelphia airport most of us think of it as a place to catch a plane, but it's an economic engine. while it is part of city government, it does not use tax monies to operate. i raises money from landing fees an rent and generates money for government coffers. a commission said there are 28,000 people who work for the purpose of the airport and airline. >> the average salary for the airport jobs is more than $50,000 a year. so, again, it's a great economic impact. >> reporter: the number of takeoffs and landings are down from 2005. but the passenger count is the same. that change means a new runway that's in the planning stage is not the priority it once was.

it feels good, the cooler changes again arrive monday night into tuesday, i'll let you know how chilly it gets in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast when i see you in ten minutes. gray? >> happening right now, a 7-year-old boy fighting to stay alive in critical condition after being pulled from the bottom of a new jersey hotel swimming pool. crews responded to the hampton inn in voorhees around the p.m. the child was unconscious and unresponsive. but first responders got a pulse back. he was taken to vertua voorhees and from there flown to children's hospital in philadelphia. two men in critical condition after a triple shooting in the city's west kensington section. this happened before 8:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of north hope street. two 28-year-old men are in critical condition. one man was shot twice and taken to temple hospital. the other was shot five times and taken to to he -- episcopal

hospital. police are searching for the shooter. a woman died after being trapped inside a raging fire in lansdale. officials are trying to find out what sparked the blaze. here's "action news" reporter, bob brooks. >> she didn't make it. >> reporter: the fire in lansdale that turned deadly. the victim was a mother trapped inside her abbey lane home. she is pictured here with the neighbor celebrating the son's second birthday earlier this month. >> she loved my son and loved my wife very much. >> reporter: according to police, the fire sparked around 6:30 that's when karen's son zack came running to the

neighbors for help. >> he came to me and said call 911. >> he was very upset. he said he cannot go inside. >> reporter: but karen never came out. we are told her son was frantic he tried to run into the flames to save her. he was trying to break the windows of the house to get in there. >> yeah. >> reporter: to get to his mom? >> yeah yeah. >> reporter: we see part of the rescue mission, but we know she didn't survive. the home is taped off, an investigation is underway. zack mavin tells us gas cans were found inside the living room, not sure what this means. at this point the local police have not given us an update on the investigation. reporting in lansdale, bob brooks channel 6 "action news." >> your time, 9:34 a.m., a woman and her 6-year-old granddaughter are spending their easter sunday in the hospital after they were run down by a dirt bike. here's what we know. this happened near 69th and market yesterday afternoon.

it did not start there. philadelphia police say they were out looking for illegal dirt bikes and atv riders when they spotted the suspect. the biker led them on to a chase before crossing over into upper darby where the suspect slammed into a woman and child narrowly missing other families walking to the a show to the tower theater. >> it's a kid show from youtube we have 1500, two thousand people lined up to get into the show. fortunately for us we had fire and ems here automatically, so she was picked up right away. >> after striking the family, the person carjacked a woman. he was taken into custody. thousands of people across the country took part in planned protests to put the pressure on president trump to make good on a campaign promise and release his tax returns. those protests turned violent in

california where protesters clashed with trump supporters. 20 people were arrested and officers confiscated flag poles and helmets. >> what's doing to the country is polarizing. >> president trump was the first major party nominee in 40 years not to release his tax returns. he said he was not releasing them because he was under audit and voters didn't care. in philadelphia, several hundred people marched to philadelphia park. the philadelphia march included a giant inflatable chicken. several called for transparency in the trump administration. the stage is going up while many local businesses are counting down to the nfl draft. crowds are expected to flock to the big event and local

restaurants hope that they are going to spend some money. vernon odem has more on the preparation. >> reporter: day by day, the structures on the parkway take shape with two weeks ago. the local restaurants are fine tuning their game as well hoping the 200,000 fans who are expected to be here to celebrate pro football will be here to eat and drink. >> we're getting phone calls about hours of operations. we don't take reservations but we're getting a lot of calls. this is a popular spot look at the lunch crowd today. they expect to be busy when the nfl draft rolls around. >> we're scratch we get everything in everyday. >> reporter: a lot of folks are regular, but they are prepared to deal with the increased competition to get a seat here day and night. >> it's usually busy, but they

do a good job accommodating and getting people in as fast as possible. >> when the pope was here they didn't get to make anything. they were disappointed. i think it will be good for the neighborhood. >> reporter: a lot of new restaurants have sprung up since the pope's visit and hope to build their reputations, but the oldies and goodies are rare going to as well. >> i would like to see philadelphia shine and packed to the gills with good times and good food. >> tens ever thousands of people were in st. peter's square as pope francis celebrated mass. in a speech the pope encouraged people to hold fast in their spiritual hearts to faith despite all the wars and sickness and hatred in the world. traditionally he gives no homily in his easter mass.

>> reporter: you know how facebook sends you a reminder what happened on this date? three years ago facebook reminded me was 35 degrees here. what a change. it's 66 in philadelphia. this is much, much better. let's get you outside and take a look at cape may, beautiful shot we're looking at the sand there, waves breaking. it's a beautiful morning. we had a couple of showers early this morning in cape may. a lot of that has since cleared out. now we're looking at mainly cloudy skies on the water. you'll see your fair share of sunshine even in cape may before the day is threw. it's nice at the shore. double scan live it's clear, no precipitation going up on the radar. we'll keep it that way for the next several hours. there could be an isolated shower for areas north and west of philadelphia. but it should not amount to all that much. yesterday, high temperatures, it was chilly you didn't have the benefit of sun to warm things up. 66 in philadelphia. 68 in reading. 67 in wilmington.

on top of that we had a breeze, are 15 to 20 miles per hour. it was chilly. that 66 we're already there and it's only 9:44 a.m. you know we're going up, up and up from here. point, 59. the pressure is holding steady. the wind out of the southwest at so miles per hour. the southwesterly breeze will get us up there. hammonton, 72. dover, 69. cape may, 62. most areas are a good 15 degrees or close to it warmer than the same time yesterday. again, when all is said and done, high temperatures top out in the mid 80s. satellite and radar, lots of clouds early this morning, now we're starting to see the cloud deck break up. more clouds developing to the west. that's associated with the cold front that will slide through overnight tonight. it brings with it a shower or two to some locations, most of us stay dry. the biggest change with the front is the cooler air lurking

on backside. 30 in the surrounding suburbs near bismarck, north dakota. we don't have to worry about freezing weather in the philadelphia area. we don't have any freeze warnings or anything like that. there's the low working out to sea monday, high pressure takes over. nice breeze out of the northwest, 85 today. 72, 37 tomorrow. future tracker 6 sun and clouds later today. maybe a spotty shower later this afternoon. this is the line associated with the front. 10:00 in the evening, it's spotty and broken up. philadelphia is still dry. as that continues to collapse to the south, one or two areas should pick up a quick-hitting shower that's about it. 85 degrees, accuweather says expect a beginnings -- combination of sun and clouds, breezy, wind out of the southwest 30 to 35 miles per hour. 1:00 p.m., 82. 3:00 p.m., 83.

injuries, but we are told he is responsive. >> a 24-year-old woman has died after a shooting in the city's kensington section overnight. police tell "action news," the gunfire broke out around 1:00 a.m. in the 700 block of east tilton street. the unidentified victim was shot once in the chest. she was taken to temple university hospital where she died a short time later. so far no arrests have been made, but a handgun was covered at the scene. a shooting at a popular nightclub in fishtown sent a person to the hospital. it happened in the 900 block of north delaware avenue. the 36-year-old man was shot in the leg. he was taken to hanheman in stable condition. no arrests have been made. 10:02 a.m., three people looking for a place to stay after they were forced out of their home by an overnight fire. this happened in camden county, new jersey. that fired started in the

basement in the home on loan -- lincoln avenue after midnight. it took less than an hour to gain control of the fire. no injuries were reported. red cross helping the people displaced by the fire. a grandmother and grandchild were rushed to the hospital after they were run down by a dirt bike in upper darby. it happened after a police chase in philadelphia and the violence didn't stop there. annie mccormick has the story. >> reporter: both of the victims went to the hospital, the grandmother to penn presbyterian hospital and the young child who police say is a 6-year-old girl to chop. upper darby police have a person of interest in custody, no charges have been announced. >> he hit them and they went flying in the air, he fell off the bike. >> reporter: this is the dirt bike that plowed into a crowd in upper darby striking a grandmother and child. police and witnesses say the
