today is the deadline to register to vote for pennsylvania's may primary. but the big story on "action news" is developing right now, firefighters are still on the scene of a multi-alarm blaze at a delaware county church. an "action news" viewer captured the flames at the memorial presbyterian church on the 3200 block of chichester avenue in boothwyn. bob brooks is at the scene where the congregation begins to assess the damage. >> reporter: sarah it is devastating for the members of the church. it is badly damaged. crews are trying to sure up the roof. you can see from the picture, the windows are busted out, there's several holes in the roof. i did speak with church members who said they have every intention to rebuild. cell phone video shows us the flames shooting out of the roof and windows. one day after the easter holiday.

the memorial presbyterian church in boothwyn has gone up in flames. church member annette hart. >> to see this happening to your church what's going through your head right now? >> actually it's kind of blank. >> reporter: the fire started in the back of church, the damage is bad. >> heavy damage to the inside of building. all news floors were damaged. >> reporter: from the video we can see what it looks like inside, the walls are charred. you can see the church windows were busted out, the flames broke holes in the church roof. we spoke to the reverend of the church. >> yesterday was a resurrection, we're looking forward to the resurrection of memorial presbyterian church. this is a processional cross it is made with brass and it is covered and it is the cross that's carried in every sunday

hail yesterday, look at that. in some neighborhoods in the region, flood waters reached 6 feet high. ohio got 3 inches and rain and wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour. meteorologist warned how bad the storm would be in southwestern ohio and indiana and northeastern kentucky. our area is seeing rain. >> reporter: not flooding, fortunately. storm tracker 6 live double scan showing you there's a line of precipitation currently going across the center of the region. it's beginning to push farther to the south. if you take a closer look the imagery is breaking a part south of philadelphia. you might have a light sprinkle around the city itself. obviously this is beginning to fall a part and thin out and push south. south is where we'll go next with storm tracker 6 live there's heavier cells coming through millville and atlantic city. cape may might pick up some of that stuff south of smyrna. i'll give you one more look

68 degrees. i meant to show you satellite again, on the other side of the rain, the clouds thin out fairly quickly. i think there's a decent chance we end up seeing the return of sunshine. future tracker between now and 2:00 p.m., most of the current rain you're looking at is along the coast. a couple of patches open up to the clouds in the north, a good portion of the region should see late afternoon sunshine. up in the lehigh valley, 73 is where we wind up later, clouds and sun, more and more sun as we go later in the afternoon. down the shore you'll be stuck with more clouds. there could late sun there, as well, depending how quickly the showers get off the coast. 72 is the high down the beach. spotty shower activity almost done in philadelphia, areas in and around the city, maybe a little sprinkle leftover for another hour or so, that's about it. for the evening commute we're looking at the possibilities of

a new mom in ohio has an unforgettable story to tell her daughter. she was experiencing contractions all day, they intensified. she called 911. moments after an officer arrived, her water broke. >> as soon as my water popped her head came out. i had to push right and there. >> everything was happening very quickly, i would say less than 3 minutes, the baby was completely delivered. >> mom and baby are happy and healthy. she was grateful to the officer for being there and helping her to deliver the early easter gift. the marriage of figaro is coming to the academy of music. the cast promises that at the end of each act will want wanting more. karen rogers has more.
